It was already late in the evening when my classes finally wrapped up. My back throbbed with a dull ache from standing in front of the easel for hours, but the ache in my heart cut far deeper every time Damon’s words from this morning echoed in my mind.

Is Lion really going to marry Jewell?

My phone vibrated inside the pocket of my jeans. I pulled it out hastily, holding onto a foolish, desperate hope—even though I knew it was impossible—that maybe it was a text from Lion.

It was just Damon.

[Damon: I’m outside, baby girl. Hurry up, I’m starving.]

I let out a heavy breath, bade goodbye to Jobel—who was still practically hyperventilating at the sight of Damon’s car—and made my way straight outside. As soon as I stepped past the gates, there it was: Damon’s black SUV. He was leaning casually against the driver's side door, his arms crossed over his chest with the top two buttons of his dress shirt undone. A few passing female students were visibly gawking at him, but the moment his eyes caught mine, a mischievous smirk stretched across his face.

“You took your sweet time, baby girl,” he grumbled playfully as I approached. He reached out to open the passenger door for me. “I should’ve reminded you that you have a curfew now.”

“Sorry. We had to clean up the studio,” I replied, climbing inside.

The door shut with a heavy thud, and he quickly walked around to the driver's seat. Once settled, he didn't start the engine right away. Instead, he leaned over toward me, reaching for my seatbelt. He was so close I could smell the sharp, intoxicating blend of his masculine cologne and the lingering scent of expensive cigarettes.

My breath hitched in my throat. My eyes flicked up to his, only to find him staring directly at my lips before offering a low, knowing smile.

“Where’s Lion? Why didn't he pick me up?” I asked, attempting to redirect his focus as he clicked the seatbelt into place and pulled back slightly.

“The golden heir is busy,” Damon chuckled, turning the key in the ignition. “They just got back from the corporate office. With Jewell, of course. And guess what? His darling girlfriend is down in the kitchen right now, cooking dinner for us. Playing the part of the future lady of the house.”

His last words felt like a cold blade sinking straight into my chest.

Future lady of the house.

Why did it hurt this much? Every single time Jewell’s name was uttered—every time the reality of her becoming Lion’s wife was brought up—it felt like the air was being violently ripped from my lungs.

Throughout the drive, I remained dead silent, staring aimlessly out the window. Every now and then, I could feel Damon stealing glances at me. On occasion, his hand would lightly rest on my thigh while he navigated through the night traffic—something he used to do casually when I was a kid, but now... the touch sent an unsettling electric current straight down my spine.

When we finally pulled into the driveway, the entire mansion was eerie and quiet. But the moment we stepped into the grand foyer, the savory, mouth-watering aroma of home-cooked food wafted through the air.

“We're home!” Damon’s loud voice boomed as he kicked off his dress shoes.

The soft hum of laughter and the clinking of silverware echoed from the dining area. Jewell emerged from the kitchen first—wearing a simple apron over her elegant dress, a broad, welcoming smile gracing her features the moment she saw us.

“Oh, you guys are finally here! Perfect timing, I just finished the lasagna and roast chicken. Come on, sit down,” Jewell offered in her sweet, soft-spoken voice.

“Mmm! Smells incredible already, Sister In-law!” Damon teased, strolling casually past her into the dining space.

I stood frozen near the doorway of the dining hall. Lion stepped out from the pantry. The sleeves of his crisp white dress shirt were rolled up to his elbows, his dark hair artfully tousled, and his eyes... unreadable and icy cold. Our eyes locked. Time seemed to grind to a halt. Every instinct in my body screamed at me to run to Lion, to wrap my arms around his neck and beg him to come up to my room. But I remained pinned to the spot, forced to watch as Jewell’s hand trailed gently across his back, fixing the collar of his shirt with practiced intimacy.

“Come inside, Snow. We’re about to eat,” Lion said, his voice deep, smooth, and distantly cold.

I swallowed hard, forcing a tight, artificial smile onto my face despite feeling utterly shattered inside.

“I’ll just... change my clothes upstairs first, Lion.” I didn't wait for his reply. I turned around sharply and practically bolted up the grand staircase before the hot tears stinging the corners of my eyes could spill over.

Because with every sweet, affectionate gesture Jewell made toward Lion... and with every cold, indifferent look Lion threw my way... a dark, volatile mix of rage and unholy desire continued to brew deep within my chest.

The sheer, unexpected violence of Lion’s mouth on mine stole every drop of air from my lungs. It wasn't a gentle, tentative kiss. It was bruised, demanding, and utterly ruthless. For a brief second, my mind screamed at me to push him away—to remember Jewell, to remember Damon, to remember the strict boundaries he had spent days enforcing. But as his tongue forced its way past my lips, tasting hot and intoxicating, every shred of resistance inside me shattered into dust. A breathless, pathetic whimper escaped my throat. Instead of pushing him back, my hands surged forward, my fingers tangling tightly into the soft hair at the nape of his neck, pulling him even closer as I surrendered entirely to the rhythm of his mouth. Our lips clashed frantically in the cramped, air-conditioned cabin of the sports car. Lion’s large hand tightened around my jaw, tilting my head back as he devoured me, drinking in my helpless moans as if he had been starving for them for years. When he finally pulled b

Snowlit Madrigal’s POV…For the past few days, I made sure to avoid Lion as much as humanly possible. Whenever he offered to drive me to university in the morning, I immediately shut him down, insisting that Damon take me instead. Even though Damon was swamped managing his high-end club and underground-turned-legal casino, he always made time to pick me up, drive me, and leave his lingering, possessive mark on me before letting me go to class.Avoiding Lion gave me peace. It gave me a wall to hide behind. So, when my late-afternoon class wrapped up around five, I walked toward the university gates expecting to see Damon’s sleek black SUV idling by the curb. Instead, a striking gray sports car was parked directly in front. The tinted window rolled down slowly, revealing Lion. He rested one arm against the doorframe, his dark, sharp eyes locking onto mine through aviator sunglasses."Get in," he commanded, his deep voice carrying over the chatter of exiting students. My feet glued them

Damon Madrigal’s POV…The soundproof door behind the heavy mahogany bookshelf clicked shut, sealing me inside my private sanctuary. The room was completely submerged in shadow, save for the cold, bluish radiance humming from the two high-definition monitors mounted side-by-side on the wall.I sank slowly into the plush leather armchair, my dark eyes locking onto the primary feed.Camera 01 — Snow’s Bedroom. She was buried beneath her thick duvet, curled up like a bruised, fragile bird in the middle of her massive bed. Every single tear that leaked from her eyes felt like a hot blade dragging across my own skin, stoking a feral rage that made me want to tear the whole damn world apart—including Lion, if he pushed her too far.I leaned forw

After that humiliating ordeal in my bedroom, I quickly threw on a pair of comfortable sweatpants and an oversized hoodie. My face was still burning hot as I walked down the grand staircase into the living room, barely able to meet Lion’s eyes.Lion was waiting for me on the plush leather sofa. He had removed his suit jacket, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, looking every bit like the stern, unyielding head of the house."Sit down, Snow," he instructed, his voice firm and completely devoid of the awkwardness from earlier.I swallowed hard, taking a seat on the armchair across from him. "Look, Lion... about earlier—""Forget about earlier," Lion cut me off sharply, his dark eyes locking onto mine with an icy intensity. "We need to talk about the house rules now that Mom and Dad are out of the country."I blinked, taken aback by his cold demeanor. "Rules?""Yes, rules," Lion said, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees. "First off, your curfew is strictly at 6:00 PM. No

After all the chaos, Damon dragged me into the adjoining bathroom so we could shower together. The hot water trickled down our intertwined bodies, washing away the sweat and sticky evidence of our feverish encounter. I leaned back against his wet, muscular chest, his hands casually resting on my hips. For a brief second, the warm water lulled me into a sense of quiet calm—until a sharp, forceful sound of knock on the door shattered the peace.Damon’s hand instantly tightened around my hip. He reached out and shut the shower valve off, killing the sound of running water.Silence descended over the bathroom, heavy and suffocating. Both of us stood frozen in place, listening intently to the hallway outside."Snow? Open the door."My heart slammed against my ribs like a frantic bird trapped in a cage. It was Lion. Why the hell was he back?! He explicitly said he had a full day of high-stakes corporate meetings. He wasn't supposed to be home until late tonight."S-Snow! Open up!" Lion’s v

The silence in the room was heavy, thick with the scent of sex and our ragged breathing.I lay bare against Damon’s chest, the rhythm of his heart beating steadily beneath my ear. His large hand traced slow, possessive circles over my damp, exposed back. My body felt utterly spent, bruised, and sore, yet my mind was spinning out of control.I squeezed my eyes shut, burying my face deeper into the crook of his neck as the sudden, crushing weight of reality crashed down upon me."Damon..." I whispered, my voice cracked and barely audible. "This... this is wrong." Damon’s hand on my back stilled for a fraction of a second."What we're doing is wrong," I repeated, a shuddering breath escaping my lips as tears stung the back of my eyes. "In the eyes of everyone... in the eyes of Mom and Dad... we're siblings, Damon. You're my brother."A low, humorless chuckle vibrated from Damon’s chest. He reached down, gripping my chin firmly, and lifted my head so I was forced to look directly into his
