IT WAS the first time I’d felt it again. Looking forward to going home after an exhausting training session. Just when I thought Katriona would be spending another day stuck in her room, I found her sitting on a tree branch while reading a book with her brows furrowed like she was torn between liking and hating the book.

And I could relate.

Even I feel torn as well.

It had been a week since her hunger strike. After that, as if she had been traumatized, she would make sure to eat everything to Chef Matthew’s delight. When I came home at night, she had already finished her dinner. The only thing I’d get to hear was her locking the door as if she was staying in the living room and would only leave in a hurry once she hears the sound of my car arriving.
