Chapter 5: Big Bad Wolf

(Alexander)

“YOU are turning the entire kingdom into your enemy by breaking the rules! Aren’t you afraid of the King? Of the Order?” Katriona screeched. The anger in her eyes was palpable as she gazed up at me.

My gaze remained hard and cold when I spoke, “Oh, sweetheart, haven’t you heard yet? I’m a rule breaker.”

The Order, the lords, all of them had become my enemies the moment they denied me the justice I deserved. As for the King and that blasted royal family, I believed what I did today was a declaration that I was officially cutting ties with them.

“You are the most despicable man I have ever met!” Katriona yelled.

Even with tears in her eyes, she still looked defiant as if it was her way of telling me that what I did was not enough to break her spirit.

How foolishly brave.

“Thank you very much,” I replied casually and folded my arms.

She raised her hand and slapped me.

Tension sizzled in the air as the wolves turned to Katriona’s direction. Loud growls resonated inside the car. She flinched and so did her wolf but she neither wavered nor lowered her head.

And why the hell would she? Katriona Aldana was considered the princess of the city and she made it very obvious that in her eyes, I was nothing but a bastard, a big bad wolf who got entangled with her and ruined her beautiful love story with her knight in shining armor.

Fuck. I almost puked at the thought of that.

This princess was too innocent for her own good. Bradley and every damn soul in the city had fed her with too much lies and pretense. And now this was what she had become.

Jace was about to reprimand her when I lifted my hand to stop him.

“Do not interfere,” I commanded.

My gaze narrowed as I grabbed Katriona’s hand. “I will let this slide but only today. Next time-“

She raised her chin. “Why? What are you going to do to me? Kill me?”

Despite the challenge written in her face, she shivered when I ran my eyes up and down her body. My fingers brushed her lips. When she was about to escape from my touch, I firmly held her jaw and forced her rebellious eyes to keep looking at no one else but me.

Truth be told, I could still taste Katriona’s sweetness on my tongue. I was not lying when I told her groom that she tasted so fucking good. Until now, the desire to claim her plump lips and to conquer her luscious body still burned in my veins.

I swallowed deeply. This primal urge to take her, to sink myself inside her, and to indulge myself in her softness stunned me. I thought after Alison, no one else would make me feel this way again. However, this little mighty princess right here beside me was full of surprises.

There were hundreds of women back at the engagement party but that night, for some reason, Katriona was the only woman I could see. From the moment I laid eyes on her, she had roused something inside me and my wolf, something I could not fathom.

“Do you really think that killing you is the only way I could punish you? How naïve.”

I pulled Katriona closer to me and allowed her lavender scent to tickle my senses. I snatched the golden clip in her head and allowed her soft and silky hair to fall over her shoulders. She looked more dazzling this way. I tossed the goddamn clip away. She did not need that. My fingers immediately took a few strands of her hair and played with them.

“What are you trying to say?” she asked after she found her voice. It sounded shaky.

“I can find a hundred and one ways to punish your pretty little mouth and your daring little hands, Katriona. That is what I’m trying to say.” I bit her earlobe. She gasped. “I could do it in the bed later or if you still won’t behave, we could even do it right now inside this very car with all of the warriors here as our witnesses. How about that? I heard you are very adventurous. How would you like that kind of adventure?”

Katriona opened her mouth to speak but I saw how she swallowed her words and held back. She clenched her hands as anger blazed in her beautiful eyes.

A naughty grin crossed my lips. “How disappointing. I thought you would go all feral on me again. When it happens, then I would have an excuse to take you. But here you are, suddenly behaving like a kitten.”

Her chest heaved as she bit her lower lip to stop herself from cursing me.

Yet, she was still doing it. She was still cursing me with her eyes. I just know it. I chuckled. She was no easy prey which had made this hunt more enjoyable.

“Keep doing this. Don’t provoke me, Katriona. Patience is not among my virtues. You have no idea what I am capable of doing once my patience snaps.”

I heard my wolf growl when I released her. Even my wolf wanted her. Every inch of her. But that could wait.

Gordon, one of my warriors who was driving, linked with me.

“Alpha, the enemies have caught up,” he reported.

“I know. Just keep going. This is a part of the plan.”

My gaze flicked to the window. I saw Bradley chasing after us in another car along with his pack, the city warriors, including the knights sent by the Order and by the King himself.

My smile faded and my jaw clenched. Had these goddamn people taken the same action towards Alison, then none of this shit would have happened. All of us could have gone on our own merry lives.

“It looks like the knight is finally here to save his bride in distress.” I rolled down the window on my side and allowed Katriona to have a glimpse of her groom. “Go on, Katriona. Take a peek. Don’t be shy. Make sure to engrave the image in your mind because this might be the last time you will get to see that bastard’s face.”

“Bradley!” she screamed when she saw him at last.

I watched as hope bloomed in her eyes.

Bradley rumbled when he heard his mate’s voice.

If I want to, my brother and I could finish this battle right here, right now. But I have no plans of ending this sooner. I did not struggle for four fucking years just to end this right away.

This was far from enough. Every one of them would need to suffer until I am satisfied.

I saw how desperation crossed Bradley’s eyes when our gazes met for a brief moment. “That’s right. Eat your heart out, brother.”

The only loser is Katriona she’s just a tool not a person. Because what was done wrong to HIS mate he subjecting her to it. Basically he’s no better than those he hates
