Mag-log inAurora POV
A soft slap jolted me from sleep, my eyes opening slightly, trying to see who might have done that because I couldn’t remember the last time anyone stepped into this small store I called my room. Mom termed it too old and dirty for her to be there. Joy, my sister, thinks she will contact some sort of disease if she moves anywhere closer. Surprisingly, the two people that have spoken badly of this place are the ones standing before the flat old mattress I lay on. On the right was Mom, her hand holding a fine blue gown with a pair of slippers. It didn’t look new. It was obvious it had been worn before, but those still looked better than the clothes I had arranged at the far corner of my room, as they had been patched many times. “Aurora darling,” Mom called, her face showing off a smile, one I hadn’t seen on her face for ages. Mom always had that frowned look when talking to me, but with Victor and Joy it was different. Before I could speak, Joy already scooted to my bed, her ass sitting on the small bed she had once called dirty. She reached for my hands so lovingly that if no one had witnessed how cruelly I had been treated, they would have assumed we were one big family. “You didn’t tell us you have a rich boyfriend,” Joy said. “What do you mean?” I asked,my brows pulling together. I’ve never dated anyone since my eighteen years of existence. Never have I seen anyone admire me or tell me to be their girl. Who would when I am always dressed in rags? “Does he have a friend you can link me up with?” Joy asked again, her eyes looking into mine with so much hope. Now I was missing something. What the hell is she talking about? “Joy, don’t trouble your sister. You can ask her later.” “Darling, quickly clean up and change into this dress,” Mom said so lovingly, her hands lifting me up from the bed and dragging my ass to the bathroom before I could decline. When I came out of the bathroom, Mom and Joy weren’t in the room. I changed into the gown and slippers she had brought earlier before stepping out. Just midway into the big living room, I froze. Staring at the most feared man in the city seated on my father’s chair with his legs crossed, eyes looking at me predatorily, made the blood rushing through my vein freeze . Even when the veil covered his face, I could still feel the intensity of his gaze on my skin. It felt like he was peeling my skin off my flesh. Before I could think of turning around to run, Mom came down from the stairs, her heels clicking hard at each step she took. “Aurora, you already met your fiancé. I was about to come get you,” she said happily. Fiancé? What has gotten into her? Why the hell is she calling this dangerous killer my fiancé? “You silly girl, you couldn’t even tell me about him till he came to ask for your hand in marriage?” she said brightly as if it was normal. “Hand in marriage?” I asked loudly, making everyone look at me. Dante, his men, Mom, Victor, and Joy, they all turned in my direction. “He already brought everything to ask for your hand in marriage, and Victor and I have approved of it.” “Approved of a marriage I had no concept of?” I fired in anger. “Yes, look over there darling,” she said. And that was when it dawned on me that I had been sold. On the table were boxes, not just empty boxes, ones that had bundles of new dollar notes arranged inside, diamonds, golds, even wears. “You gave me to a total stranger because of this?” I yelled. “Aurora, you should behave and not let your husband see you as a stubborn bride,” she whispered. “Hahaha.” I laughed out loud. Now he had migrated from being my fiancé to my husband. How funny. Well, if I can’t talk some sense into that greedy mother of mine, I will talk to the man who thought he could just barge into my home and win my family over with his wealth. My feet thundered toward where he sat, confident, bold, unshaken. “What the hell do you think you are doing?” Silence. He didn’t reply. All he did was stare. “I am talking to you.” I pushed his shoulder slightly, which made his guards all point their guns at me. “Aurora, you should learn to obey,” Victor yelled, his body leaning closer before he landed a hot slap on my face. My face turned left. “Haven’t I told you not to always disobey us?” he yelled again. “Mr. Dante, we are very sorry for not training our daughter well. She still needs some more training. If you don’t mind, you can go with our well trained second daughter, Joy,” he said, his hands pointing to Joy where she sat. Joy adjusted her clothes, her body moving seductively to entice him. Dante stood up. For a minute I thought he was about to walk to Joy, but I was wrong. His legs moved to the door, exiting the room without replying to Victor. The next thing I knew was two of his guards holding me by both hands and dragging me out. “Mom, help, please,” I shouted loudly in fear. “Don’t let them take me. I promise to always obey you, please,” I begged. All my pleas fell on deaf ears as they didn’t even listen. All they did was stay busy admiring, touching, and holding the golds, diamonds, and money without any bother. My ass was kicked to the back seat. The two guards stayed at both sides, another at the front with the driver. My hands were handcuffed as if I had committed a crime I wasn’t supposed to. The cars moved ,one after the other leaving behind the only house I have ever known. I looked through the tinted window,my chest hurting painfully as tears rolled silently down my cheeks. Mom didn't run after me. Neither did my sister. Did they ever care? They had traded me away to the material things they care about, leaving me to the cruel hand of a stranger . And now I had no idea where Dante De Luca was taking me.Aurora’s POVStanding in front of Dante feels awkward, especially when I had dreamt I was in a romantic relationship with my boss.He sat with one leg crossed over the other, a glass of alcohol in his hands. His mouth wiped from the glass of wine before his gaze settled on my pathetic, bruised body. For one brief moment, I had thought he would come save my ass from hitting the floor as the guards tossed me forward, but I was wrong. He looked away almost immediately, his eyes settling back at the glass of wine.Isabel shifted closer, her hands resting on his shoulder as if she owned him.“Boss,” Marco said, bowing slightly. “The maid, as requested.”Dante’s cold eyes settled back on me, with no emotion nor recognition of the kiss we had. Neither did he behave like the one who had saved me from the cruel hands of this same evil mistress some days ago. What was I even thinking? He had done it for Luca, nothing else. For a long moment, he didn’t speak. My body shook as I felt his eyes tea
Aurora POV“Haaaa!” I screamed out loud as I jolted up from the floor I found myself on.Looking around, the first thing that caught my eyes was the number of people who had gathered, and the second was the queen who had sat on the throne like she controlled everyone here.I blinked repeatedly, trying to understand what the hell was going on.“Poor girl, she is doomed today,” someone whispered among the crowd.I frowned, confusion plastered all over my face.My gaze settled on my body. It was wet with mud, all staining the dress.I recognized these clothes. This was exactly what I was wearing the day I had been assigned to Isabel as her maid.No way. I am back in time, I frowned.“Tie her up,” Isabel’s voice rang out, jolting me out of whatever I was thinking.“What is going on?” I managed to ask.Isabel’s face frowned up, her eyes looking into mine with so much hatred.“You dare ask me that after burning my clothes?” she yelled, her ass standing up from the throne like chair she was
Aurora POVIt was almost ten o’clock in the morning by the time I woke up. No loud noise or bell sound, everything was calm except for the small snore from Dante.I turned slightly on the bed, with a face curved with a pretty smile as I stared at him.Dante was still asleep, his breath fanning my skin, hair covering his scar. I lay on the side of the bed, staring at the ruthless mafia lord, sleeping like he wasn’t a chaos. Not in my wildest imagination would I ever dream of being on the same bed with Dante. But here it was.On the same bed, after having a series of make out all night long.He groaned slowly before he finally opened his eyes. Our eyes met, and that moment I felt like the clock had stopped ticking for a second.Dante leaned closer, hands removing some strands of hair that had fallen over my face.“Good morning, amorchito,” he said in his strong Spanish accent.“Good morning, Dante,” I replied. He planted a kiss on my forehead before stepping out of bed.For some minute
Aurora’s POVThe cold air swept through my skin in the dark. My eyes squinted into the open as I walked my way into the boss’s apartment.Fortunately for me, there were no guards outside the hallway. My steps quickened with a racing heart as I made my way into his room.Grabbing the door handle, I didn’t think twice before pushing it open and only stopped walking when I was halfway in.Dante’s eyes settled on me just as he was about to thrust into Mistress Zain.Zain noticed the pause in the raw foreplay, and she traced the boss’s eyes to mine.Immediately, her face frowned, and her eyes rolled at me before she grabbed Dante by his dick.Dante yanked her hands almost immediately, his face turning all cold, and before I could blink, his hands were already wrapped around Zain’s neck.He lifted her up with just one hand, showing off her unclad body. His eyes flickered just like they did when we kissed earlier.Zain struggled to break free, hitting his hands, but his hold was too strong f
Aurora POVImmediately I stepped into the workers’ quarters, I searched around with my eyes for her.Amani, the only friend I had on the island. The quarters was always silent around this time of the day, as everyone would have retired back to bed after a stressful work at the farm.I leaned closer to Amani’s quarters, and there she was, sitting comfortably on a small stool, a bucket at her arm as she did some hand laundry.Amani didn’t notice me at first, not until she stood up to dry some of her clothes on the rope before her eyes settled on me.She stood still for minutes before dropping the clothes in the bucket and running towards me with a huge smile spreading across her face as she embraced me in a tight hug.I chuckled, wrapping my hands around her back also as we both stumbled backward.“I miss you so much,” Amani said while sobbing softly.“Such a drama queen,” I laughed.“I miss you too, friend,” I replied back. When we pulled away from the hug, Amani led me into her room.
Dante POVI shot at the center of the board repeatedly until the board tore apart. The sound of the gunshot echoed in my head each passing second, but I cared less.My mind was troubled, too occupied with her smile that invaded every space in my mind and replayed as a picture on my retina.Since the day I saved her from drowning, I hadn’t stopped thinking about her, or maybe it had started a long time ago and I had just gotten noticed.I longed to see her each day I was out for work and hurriedly wanted to come back just to see her smile and smell her scent in the room.I had blamed these whole feelings on Lucien, but deep down, I knew I felt for her just the same way Lucien did.But I had questioned myself, why? That answer, I’ve got no answer to, as Lucien had decided to keep mute every freaking time I asked. My hands pressed hard on the trigger as I released another bullet into the board again. My mind lingered on how I had kissed her softly on the bed and how she had responded alm
