Dante’s POV

I have been away from the island for more than twenty four hours, one that hasn’t happened for years. Yes, I love the city for its chaos but always return before twenty four hours, not because I find the city boring but because I have secrets to keep and duties to fulfill.

Mallory must have given the guards a tough night, especially when the full moon was just some days away.

Mallory is my sister, the only person that keeps me sane and makes me stay human. If Mallory is gone today, then the last bit of softness in me will die.

I was about dressing up to leave the hotel when she walked in without knocking. She had stared so differently from how others who had seen my scar twelve years ago did. Well, none of them were alive to describe what that scar looks like.

Her stare held curiosity, pity, and at the same time some fear.

When I mentioned my name, her fear got ten times worse than the one she already had.

She had rushed out of the room even before I got to her side. Well, I had willingly let her because I could have shut the door right before she stepped out, but I didn’t.

She was different.

Different from the girls I have encountered, which made me furious because Lucien, my wolf, would have dug his claws into her neck and sucked the life out of her.

Surprisingly, he was silent, didn’t even make a sound. It was as if he was trying to behave like a good boy.

I hated it so much that Lucien could be gentle for her and that made me want to punish her for making my wolf act that way.

For wanting to cause me distraction.

I had bought her off from her parents not because I cared about her, not because I wanted to have anything sexual with her and neither did I want to marry her.

She was only brought as a tool to work on my farmland, making sure she gets punished for ever barging into that room without knocking.

You can call me a psycho but I don’t care. She sure is going to pay every penny her family collected from me.

Dante doesn’t lavish money that way, especially not on some petite human girl.

She is my goods, now she has to yield profit.

My phone buzzed, distracting me from my thoughts. The name of the caller told me she had started being a disturbance before we even moved halfway.

“Boss,” Marco’s voice rang through, his muscular deep voice sounding serious.

“Speak,” I said softly yet dangerously.

“She requested to urinate,” he said.

Silence.

I didn’t say anything. My hand just hung up the call.

Marco knew what that meant.

It was a no.

She can’t make me believe I should stop the car for her just because of some urge she could hold.

The car moved for about thirty minutes before another call came in, still from Marco.

“She might urinate in the car, boss, if we don’t let her now.”

“Three minutes,” I said.

“Noted boss.”

I didn’t allow him to finish before hanging up.

I’m not much of a talker, especially not with people that won’t give me a deal.

From the window, I saw how Marco and two other guards guided her to the bushy area to relieve herself.

For someone not knowing where she was being taken to, she looked unscarred, unbroken, unafraid, and that got my interest.

I stared.

Didn’t even look away when she pulled down her pants to pee.

Nothing about her should have held my attention but it did. Her calmest did.

Like I had suspected earlier, she did something surprising.

Quiet, brave but foolish of her.

She made a run after biting deeply into Marco’s hands. The guards pointed their guns at her ready to shoot as she ran, but a call from me made them stop.

“Come back to the car and wait,” I instructed.

After about thirty minutes, I decided to go get my prey.

Playtime was over.

With my werewolf ability, I sped to her front, making her head hit hard against my solid chest.

She looked shocked but quickly canceled it by picking up a stick from the floor.

Her hands hit the log like stick on my body thrice but I didn’t flinch, didn’t move, just stood still like she hadn’t just hit me.

Terrified.

She ran to the left. I appeared before her again before she could take another step.

“Who the hell are you, monster?” she yelled.

I smirked.

“Now you are behaving like them, just what I wanted to see.”

“Get away from me,” she yelled.

“Too late. You are already my property.”

“No.”

She shifted backward but before she could think of what would hit her next, I grabbed her by the hand and sped to where the cars were parked.

She looked shocked. Her shivering body was enough evidence.

Marco came out, cuffed her hands and threw her ass into the black seat before she could make another run.

“Boss, should we eliminate her?” Marco asked.

He knew me so well that I don’t entertain such trouble from people.

“No,” I said simply before heading back into the car.

We took off immediately without any more delay.

Sitting back in the car was supposed to be silent and peaceful, but the sound of her cries kept disturbing my mind and I found it annoying.

If only she knew what was coming her way, she would have saved those tears for later.

Dante never leaves his offenders unpunished, especially not one that tries to play smart and run away.

Now she has made me invested.

She will learn the hard way what disobedience costs on my island.

For the first time in years, I did not immediately think of death.

All my past offenders had always met death at the first mistake, but with her I am making an exception to punish her myself before death finally finds her.

Dante POV“Let me help you relax, Master,” Isabel said, her hands stretching toward my chest, but before she could touch me, I grabbed her wrist.“Get on the bed. Face down, ass up,” I commanded. No hesitation. She obeyed immediately, climbing onto the bed and following every command I gave.I stood up from where I sat, my hands pulling down the trousers I wore, just below my knees, not completely off.Isabel was such a seductress. She knew exactly how to make me want her. Her body was perfectly positioned, enough to tempt any man.I did not touch her immediately.I stared at her naked body, not because I admired it so much, but because I was trying to keep my wolf in place. I knew better than to touch Isabel whenever Lucien was active. He hated contact with females. Most women who encountered Lucien’s rage during one of my moments never survived it.I could not risk losing Isabel. She was one of the best. She knew not to question my authority, knew how to stay quiet, never complained

Aurora POVAfter the stunt I had pulled earlier, the car didn’t stop, not for once.It kept moving till we arrived at the place I once thought could never be real.Dante De Luca’s island.A place whispered about by people in fear. No one dared talk boldly about the rumors or else they would have their head rolling on the floor the next morning. It was said to be the land of no return. No one ever made it out alive once they stepped foot on the island. It was as if they had been swallowed whole and the water cleansed off every single trace of them.People whispered about their lost ones but nobody had ever dared confront Dante about it, not even the police. They all stayed clear away from the island like it was some kind of plague.Everyone was anxious to know about the island activities. Unfortunately, nobody could describe the activities on the island as no one ever lived enough to tell the story. My heart skipped ten times faster than it had as I stared at the dark body of water sur

Aurora POVA soft slap jolted me from sleep, my eyes opening slightly, trying to see who might have done that because I couldn’t remember the last time anyone stepped into this small store I called my room.Mom termed it too old and dirty for her to be there.Joy, my sister, thinks she will contact some sort of disease if she moves anywhere closer.Surprisingly, the two people that have spoken badly of this place are the ones standing before the flat old mattress I lay on.On the right was Mom, her hand holding a fine blue gown with a pair of slippers. It didn’t look new. It was obvious it had been worn before, but those still looked better than the clothes I had arranged at the far corner of my room, as they had been patched many times.“Aurora darling,” Mom called, her face showing off a smile, one I hadn’t seen on her face for ages.Mom always had that frowned look when talking to me, but with Victor and Joy it was different. Before I could speak, Joy already scooted to my bed, her

Aurora’s POV“Aurora! Aurora!” my stepfather, Victor, screamed, his loud voice almost bringing the whole house down, making my body shake in fear.I hurriedly stood up from the floor I was scrubbing, my hands grabbing the cleaning bucket as my tiny legs carried me to the kitchen.I knew not to spend another minute keeping my stepfather waiting. Well, I had learned the hard way to always come running whenever he called. It had become a rule, one I no longer found odd.The moment Victor set his eyes on me, he smashed a plate at me. I bent quickly, making the plate hit the wall before crashing to the floor.“You still haven’t cleared the dishes?” Victor barked, his eyes looking at me cruelly.I dared not look up, dared not maintain eye contact with him, or I would end up receiving another punishment. My body still ached from the strokes of the cane I had received yesterday. I wasn’t ready to receive another.“Why the hell are you still standing there?” he yelled.I quickly bent down, my
