Isabella was seated on the bed when the door flung open. She immediately hid the picture she had been holding in her hand under the pillow and looked at Lucas with a wide grin.

“What were you doing?” Lucas asked with a raised eyebrow.

“N–nothing.” Isabella answered quickly as he inched closer.

She watched as Lucas sat on the bed almost beside her, his eyes still fixed on her.

“How was the meeting today?” Isabella asked him.

    The next morning Aria woke up to the stench of alcohol emitting from the living room.
