LOGINAria arrived at Damien's Penthouse, an opulently decorated residence. She was astounded by the contemporary architectural design, which she had never seen before.
He led her into the building and took her directly to a room, “This would be your room.” he announced as he closed the door before them. Aria's gaze wandered across the room, which, unlike the one she shared with Lucas, was lovely and well decorated. Before she could say a word, Lucas was already in front of her. His gaze lingered on her brown, melting eyes, which defied innocence before shifting to her heart-shaped lips. He licked his lips, wanting to have a taste of the plumpness in hers. Aria, on the other hand, was stiffened. She was unable to move her body as he stood before her. With one hand, Damien raised her chin towards his face, making her close her eyes. He gazed at her attractiveness as she closed her eyes, one which had piqued his interest in her. He wondered why any man would reject her for another woman. “Your ex-husband must be so foolish to give away a pearl like you.” he whispered into her ear. Noticing her stiff body, he smirked, “According to the contract, you are expected to be submissive to me as your husband. But have no fear, my dear wife, by tomorrow it will be official and we will both have a nice time together.” he concluded and left the room. Aria shuddered. She did not remember reading that in the contract since she didn't really read it. She was so taken away by the prospect of ultimately having to revenge herself that she had no idea what she was signing up for. “Damn, I hate contracts,” was all she could say. *** As Damien walked out of Aria's room, he felt his phone buzz. He took it out of his pocket and frowned. Before he could take a step forward, his aide came rushing to him. “Speak!” Damien commanded. “I was ordered by Mr. Blackwood to send your pictures with Miss Camille Pierce to the press to confirm your relationship.” He tightened his jaws. His aide knows him better not to do things without his approval, even though it has been given by his father himself. “How dare he!” Damien thundered, “Don't you dare do anything! Tell Mr. Sebastian to get the car ready.” “But sir, it is late already.” Damien shot him a cold look, “It is none of your goddamn business!” *** The tyres of Damien's vehicle screeched as it neared the Blackwood's villa. After getting past the security, they were headed towards the main building. When they arrived, Damien got out and proceeded towards the house. He entered the living room to see his dad relaxed with a newspaper in hand. “I knew you would come right away.” the aged man said calmly as he flicked through the paper. “What kind of stunt are you trying to pull off?!” Damien demanded in a furious tone. Mr. Blackwood folded the newspaper and placed it on the table near him. He took a cigar from the same table and lit it, “You want one?” he asked, offering his son the pack. Damien scoffed, “Don't try to change the topic, Father.” The man gave a light laugh, “You seem to have forgotten our agreement.” “I haven't, actually, it is you who have gone beyond.” “Of course, that was an agreement but you have been so chill about it, and since I am getting old, I need to hasten things up between you and Miss Camille, since you haven't found a lady to marry.” “Well, newsflash father, I have found a lady I want to marry and I hope you will soon stop all this childish ruckus.” Damien said sternly. Mr. Blackwood was unmoved. His face held no expression. “Is she one of your numerous night-standers?” he asked. “No, she is not.” Mr. Blackwood exhaled some smoke and sighed deeply. “I don't care who it is you want to marry but the preparations between you and Miss Camille have been finalized.” Damien, who could no longer take it, became enraged. “You don't have the final say, father. I am going to marry who I want and nothing is going to stop me.” “Are you ready to make her pregnant within the next six months?” his father blurted out quickly. “What?!” “I will put whatever I have on hold and wait for the next six months. If your so-called wife-to-be does not get pregnant and gives birth to a child, you will have to get married to who I recommend to you and nothing and no one would go against me. Is that clear?” Mr Blackwood said. Six months! Damien repeated in his mind. How was he going to pull this off? The question taunted him. His thoughts returned to Aria; to him, it seemed practically impossible, plus he was used to having just one-night encounters with the females he met; now he is under pressure to get her pregnant! Damien wondered how Aria would take the news if he had to tell her. She would obviously ditch him, but a contract is a contract plus he did not want to get married to someone his father has chosen for him. Not even the daughter of a governor. “Still considering the offer, huh?” Mr. Blackwood puffed out some smoke from his mouth, “I knew it would be a tough one for you. I suppose that is totally beyond your abilities.” “I'll do it,” Damien said at last. One thing he loved was to prove his father wrong. His father's eyes widened. “What did you say? Are you certain you want to walk down this path?” “I will get her pregnant in six months after which you call off whatever preparation you have in store. Is that a deal?” Mr. Blackwood smiled. This was one of the reasons he loved his son. He makes the most difficult task look easy. “It is a deal then, Mr Damien.”“Lucas–” Isabella started when she caught sight of him entering the room as she opened it. Before she could continue, Lucas raised his hands to stop her. It was clear she was drunk, she could see it from the way he smelled and staggered. Isabella held her nostrils as she walked behind him. “You have been drinking.” she commented. Lucas said nothing. He only plopped down on the bed and rested his back, sighing heavily. “Fuck!” he yelled out suddenly. “I still can't get over all that has happened.” “Drinking away your life won't help you, Lucas. You need to step up and find something to do.” Isabella told him. Lucas threw her a glance, a very cold one, but she did not bulge after all, someone needed to tell him that. Ever since his return, he had been behaving weirdly. She noticed he always came back late, behaving drunk and nonchalant. This wasn't the life she wanted with him. “Who are you to tell me what to do?” Lucas snapped out of anger. His eyes looked red as h
The last thing Sophie had expected was meeting Aria at her door just a few hours after she had left. Her face looked swollen like she had taken some time to cry off her tear gland. “Aria,” Sophie called out softly, “what the hell happened?” Aria stared blankly at her, not knowing what to say. Then she grabbed her bags, dragging it all the way in. “Hold on, let me help.” Sophie said as she lifted the heavy one to the room. “Did something happen?” Sophie inquired as Aria slouched down onto the couch. “He was with her?” Aria managed to say. “Who was with who?” Sophie asked, confused. “He didn't even wait for me to leave fully.” Aria continued, ignoring Sophie's question. “You mean Damien?” she asked. Aria nodded slowly. “And Camille?!” Aria nodded again. “Hell nah! Why would he do that?” A drop of tear fell from Aria's eyes. She wiped it off immediately. It was of no use crying over him. He was gone anyway. Sophie went over to where she sat and cuddled her gently. “You
The next morning Aria woke up to the stench of alcohol emitting from the living room. She got up from the floor where she laid and began to pick the beer bottles that were scattered on the floor. Then her gaze fell on Sophie who was sleeping upside down from the couch to the floor. Aria shook her head and went to where the lady laid, putting her in a position that was deemed manageable.“Blake?” Sophie called.“It’s me, Aria.” “Oh, Aria.” Sophie said as she felt Aria's hair. “Are you Blake's new girlfriend?”Aria rolled her eyes. “You should probably go back to sleep. You're drunk.”“Yeah. Right.”After about an hour, Aria was done cleaning and freshening up. She met Sophie already seated in the living room, holding her head.“I have a headache.” she told Aria.“I made hungover soup. You can try it out.”“Perfect. Where are you going by the way?”“I need to go pack my remaining stuff.
The door banged furiously as Isabella went to open it. Immediately the door opened, Lucas staggered in, almost tripping and falling to the floor.“Lucas.” Isabella said when she saw him.She reached for his arm, trying to steady him, but Lucas casted her an irritating glance before shoving her hand away.“Get away from me!” he yelled.Isabella stepped back, noting he was already drunk, but she did not go away, she only stood watching him as he landed on the couch.Your ex-wife–”“–don’t you dare mention anything about her to me. Don't you get it?!” “Why are you raising your voice at me?! If you want to do that you do it to Aria, not me!” Isabella yelled back.Lucas cast her another glance and stood up slowly, he raised his hand to hit her, but quickly shove her to the couch. “I said don't mention her again!”“Fuck!” he added as he struggled with his tie.Isabella felt her chest start to beat f
Once they were outside the conference room, a message appeared on Damien's phone. He paused and stared at it for a moment before turning to Aria.“Do you have somewhere to be at today?” he asked her.“I need to go see Sophie and tell her how it went.”“Fine. I'll have Adrian take you there. I need to attend to something first.” he told her.“There is no need actually. I can get there by myself.”“I insist.”Aria rolled her eyes.“You don't really have to pretend like this is not the end of our contract.”“We still have to celebrate your victory.” he pressed on.“Not necessary. I have done what I am supposed to do. I don't think I have to celebrate anything.” she explained.Damien sighed.“I will only be at your place after I have told Sophie the news. And I will be there to pack up my things.” she told him.Damien looked at her for some seconds. Then he nodded slowly.“If that is what you want, then who am I to obstruct?” he said, even though there was a hint of sadness within his ton
“Who gave you the right to think you can bring me down?” Lucas yelled as he approached Aria who stood by the conference table. The meeting was over and the new audience were the staff who were now present.Aria turned to face him. The whole staff stretched their necks to see them. They had heard about all that had transpired during the meeting and had come to watch them in Damien's absence.“Are you pained?” Aria asked with a composed expression. She had nothing to fear, after all the man before her has now been rendered as a loser.“You knew what you were doing, right?”Aria smiled. She could see the anger in his eyes.“Of course. From the very day you made your decision to do away with me.” Aria told him.“So you did this because I divorced you when I got someone better?” Suddenly, the crowd began murmuring.“They were a couple?” one asked.“Oh shit. No wonder he always targeted her.” another said.“That was thoughtless of him to lose someone as good as her.” Yet another spoke.Ari
Damien did not know what brought him to Aria's room. He just found himself there. She stood before him, her eyes shining in surprise at his intrusion.Damien was speechless, not that he did not know what to say, but because he was not sure if she would believe him if he said he came to see her.He
The next day, Aria was feeling happy. Although it was strange, she hoped it reflected her feelings properly. Before heading to her desk, she greeted her coworkers as she walked in. On getting to her desk, she could see a stack of documents on her table. She smiled, already knowing it belonged to
“What is it? You don't want me?” Damien asked when he noticed Aria did not want to enter the vehicle. Aria did not say anything. She was still contemplating on if she should or should not enter. “What is your answer going to be?” Damien asked again with a slight smirk. He was sure she had no oth
“Sir.” Adrian called as he entered the office in a hurry. Damien, who had been lost in thought, quickly regained consciousness and looked at his assistant.“Yes, Adrian? Is there a problem? And why didn't you knock?” he asked him.“I did, but it appears you were too busy,” the man explained as he
