ADELINA'S POV

The rooftop was like something out of a dream.

Soft lights hung above us, casting a warm golden glow over everything. The floor was smooth stone, and carefully arranged plants lined the edges, swaying gently in the breeze. From up here, the city looked like endless buildings glowing in the night, cars moving like tiny stars far below. Lunaria was truly beautiful as the rumours said.

I would not mind moving here if I could. It made me wonder why Petra wanted to go to school abroad.

"Pardon me, Mr Romanov. I am glad you showed up." Lawrence chimed. He was the new general manager. I was expecting to see him here.

"The honour is mine." Mikhail chimed, I stood a step behind, acting according to my position, watching the way they spoke to him with respect, careful words, like a single mistake could cost their lives.

The rest all looked equally powerful with affluence. They were older than both Lawrence and Mikhail, the only ones whose shoulders were not tensed.

ADELINA'S POV Was it normal to strip with your engaged hot boss? Hell no. We had been stuck in here for a while, my fingers were numb and I knew Mikhail was right when he said it would be better if I got rid of my wet clothes. I tried doing my buttons, but my hands were already shaking, barely able to undo them. "Mikhail," I called out in a raspy voice. He had already gotten rid of his suit and the black shirt underneath. He was pulling off the singlet when I called. "Yes. Are you having trouble?" He asked me, he didn't turn around, but went ahead to pull up the singlet, exposing his back. It was not so surprising that he had a wolf tattoo across his back. From his collars, I get snippets of the ink on his neck. The cave was dark, and the only source of light was the moonlight that peeked out of the cloudy sky. That was when I realised that I had left my phone in the car. Mikhail glanced over his shoulder. His blue eyes were gleaming in that dark like a predat

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   128 - Fever

ADELINA'S POV The car got attacked, and strangely, it felt like I was the target and not Mikhail. All the shots were targeted at me and not him .. "Are you alright?" He asked me, his voice was still calm like he wasn't disturbed in the least way by the attack. My hand clutched his shirt taking the risk of glancing up. I was immediately spellbound by him. His hair was dishevelled, and his side profile was within my gaze. He was trying to take a sneak peek behind the tree. My stomach fluttered, I was in damage and my stomach chose this to be the time to flutter. I glanced away and replied a bit calmly. "I am a bit scared.". My answer must have been hilarious to him. "You don't have to be scared as long as you hold on tight everything will be fine." He assured me. Mikhail held me tightly, and the howls of wolves started to echo in all directions. The gunshots had stopped but it seemed like wolves were fighting. What the hell was happening tonight? "We need t

ADELINA'S POV The weather in Lunaria was pretty cold at night. It made me wonder why Mikhail and the others didn't seem bothered by it in the slightest. Lawrence walked to us, his gaze fixated on me. The breeze was blowing through his hair, softly ruffling the edges of his hair. He was wearing a long coat that made him look more mysterious and elegant in a way. Lawrence was smiling at me, and it felt like I was the only one in his eyes. My heart skipped a beat remembering his confession with a shy blush crawling up my cheeks. I returned the smile, "The same thing here." There was something about his presence that made me relax and let go of my guard. "Maybe it is fate," Lawrence answered. Mikhail clicked his tongue. "Sorry to interrupt your lovely moment but the car is here ." He said dryly. He didn't pull me but walked away. The breeze whistled across ruffling my hair "That is my clue to leave. It was nice meeting you again." I held my things closer to my bosom feelin

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   125 - Hidden in plain sight

ADELINA'S POV "Adelina," "Adelina," "Adelina," A subtle touch on my shoulders jolted me from my trance-like state. "Yes," I blurted, looking confused. Mikhail was staring at me, his elegant brows pulled together. It should be a crime for someone to be this good-looking. "What is going on in your head? I called you 3 times but you were spacing out." Mikhail said. His brow was cocked at me. "You did," I foolishly blurted once again. My mind must have been in the clouds because I didn't hear a thing that he said. Mikhail sighed, placing his palm on my forehead. His eyes stared at me keenly. There were subtle sparks from his touch that left me staring blankly at him. "If you are tired you should call it a day. " He suggested, his tone was abnormally soft Something popped into my mind, and I quickly moved away, creating a distance between us. He was already taken and the last thing I wanted was to get on Ophelia's bad side. She already strikes me as

  • Trapped With The Ruthless Alpha: The Heiress Vendetta   124 - The engagement Venue

ADELINA'S POV The weather seemed nice although it is a bit colder in Lunaria. The sun was high and blazing down but it wasn't uncomfortable due to the heavy clouds that made the weather a bit chilly. I was putting on a dark blue knee-length dress that had proper coverage. It felt like Nora was picking out what she felt was the most decent outfit. My steps were unhurried as I made my way out of the villa to the main entrance. A row of cars was parked. The chauffeur stepped out to hold the door for me. Once again I shared the back seat with Mikhail. At first, I found it weird that he was comfortable sitting beside his assistant. "Good morning, Mr Romanov," I chimed, settling on the seat. Mikhail seemed to be deep in his thoughts, his gaze distant as he stared outside the window. He didn't answer me, maybe he was too deep in his thoughts. The car started to move and a deafening silence boomed in the car. There was something about his silence that I found unsettli
