She saw the figure standing in front of her now. Shada was mesmerized by the beauty she was witnessing. In all her life, she had never seen such a handsome face. Far more handsome than any actor in the world.
Thick eyebrows with stern bronze eyes. Skin that was pale white, even whiter than pure marble alabaster. His hair was jet black. And also, as he observed again, a sharp nose and bright red lips.
She was lost in her appearance for a few minutes. She suddenly felt like crying from the first time she saw him. She didn't know why. Was it possible that she was admiring his magnificence? She was really frustrated and too sad. Suddenly she came to his senses and completely controlled herself.
"Aaaakh! Who are you?!"
Shada's voice was almost shouted, but in fact it was choked in her own throat. There was no answer, the figure she saw was just silent, staring skeptically at her opponent.
"Shada..."
Shada was stunned. How could the stranger in front of her now know her name. She wanted to ask, but couldn't make a sound.
"Shada, don't be afraid." His heavy and soft voice caressed Shada's ear.
In the next second, Shada looked at him angrily, with undiminished fear of course. How could she not be afraid, when this man in front of her appeared suddenly, and what? He was up in a tree! Shada scowled inwardly.
She scooped up a lot of the surrounding air and roughly exhaled it, trying to control herself from suddenly fainting. She then pinched her cheeks.
"Ouch! It wasn't a dream." Shada muttered softly, almost like a whisper to herself.
"Then who are you? Why are you here?" Shada finally managed to gather her courage again. She stared at the man's gaze.
"I'm Demian. Don't you remember me, Shada?" he said softly while looking at Shada.
Shada swallowed her saliva with difficulty. She remembered her dream with that man. And worse, she liked him. How could he forget about her? Shada laughed bitterly.
"Since when have you been in my dreams?" Shada felt that her question was not quite right, so she corrected it, "Uh no, since when did you come to my house?"
Shada looked straight at Demian. Trying to find some answers to the awkwardness there. Demian looked back at her too. However, with a sad look.
"You really forgot about me, huh?" Demian's voice trembled slightly. He seemed to be laughing at himself. Meanwhile, Shada was crawling with anxiety.
"Of course I remember," Shada said, trying to defend herself. Demian looked at her happily, but a second later turned suspicious.
"What do you remember?" Demian asked incredulously. He fully investigated Shada's expression which began to move in confusion.
"Yes, of course. Remember when we slept together," she squeaked, immediately shutting down all of Demian's fun.
"Never mind, you don't remember. Do you want to sleep?" Demian's soft voice caressed her again.
Shada blinked her eyes at him. This was real, and now she actually met the figure in her dream. His good looks were unreal. But, he's not human, you idiot! Wake up! Shada then slapped her own right cheek.
"You're not human. Then what?" she argued, not answering Demian's question.
However, Shada did not hear any sound. Demian remained silent with a sharp look. Shada's guts then shrank.
"You just need to remember me." Demian hissed and disappeared into the darkness of the night.
Shada was stunned by Demian's departure. She grumbled in annoyance and returned to her room, trying to sleep.
♡♡♡
The next morning, Shada quickly showered and got ready to go to the office. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. There were dark circles right at the bottom line of her eyes. This must be because she couldn't sleep last night. She was busy thinking about who Demian was and how she knew his name.
Shada took out a concealer from her dressing table drawer and applied it to the lines under her eyes.It managed to camouflage her panda eyes a little.
Not long after, there was the sound of a car horn in front of her house, followed by the short ping of Shada's cell phone. She checked her incoming messages and frowned when she read Max's name there.
I'm already in front of the house. You're leaving with me today.
-Max
"Wow, what a coincidence!" Shada muttered happily and immediately went downstairs to meet Max.
Shada immediately entered Max's luxury car. She looked at Max happily.
"Are you happy, Honey?" Max teased Shada while raising the sunglasses that had been perched on his eyes. A clean, masculine musk scent filled Shada's nostrils.
"Hmm, yeah. Sure," said Shada excitedly. This morning she was completely mesmerized by Max. She realized how cool her fiancé was.
Her hand then caressed Max's cheek. She leaned closer and gave Max a quick peck on the lips. Max was instantly taken aback by the kiss Shada landed on him. However, because Shada's kiss was too short, he quickly pulled the car over and stopped. He held Shada's blushing face, kissed her red lips and savored it. There was a feeling of longing for that beautiful woman.
After the two entered the office area, several pairs of eyes saw the two of them. Not to mention Ruth, who secretly stole a glance.
Shada stopped at the open staff room and seated herself there. Meanwhile, Max continued to walk away from the staff room area to his private room.
Ruth immediately welcomed her best friend's arrival with a smile. For her, Shada's day off had made her day feel lonely. She could only be open with Shada.
"Shadaaa! How come you're leaving with Max?" Ruth asked with a grin.
"Yeah, I was surprised too. He was already in front of my house all of a sudden." Shada replied equally excited. Imagining her kiss with Max earlier made her overjoyed like crazy.
"But, Shada... you look tired. Are you sure you've rested well?" Ruth's face now turned worried. She looked at Shada's face but found black eye bags that contrasted with her friend's fair skin.
Shada reflexively took her cell phone and turned on the front camera to see her makeup. She was sure that her concealer had camouflaged it perfectly.
"Ruth, do you remember what you said yesterday? I already did. Until I couldn't sleep at all." Shada saw Ruth choked up, then slowly turned worried.
"Then, how did it go, Shada?" Ruth deliberately moved her swivel chair closer to Shada, her hand gently tapping Shada's left shoulder. She couldn't wait to hear from Shada, a feeling of anxiety came over her.
Shada took a deep breath.
"I've met her. And you know, it wasn't a dream. His name is Demian, and he's not human." Suddenly her voice choked at the end of her sentence. The feeling of tension managed to creep back into her.
"Hah! What, are you serious Shada?" screeched Ruth and then consciously covered her mouth immediately, afraid that someone else might overhear their conversation.
"Maybe you don't believe me, Ruth. Neither do I. But I'm sure he's real." Shada explained as she looked closely at her best friend's face and continued, "And, tonight I hope to see him again."
The image of a handsome and dashing man flashed at the scene of the accident where two cars collided violently. Meanwhile, he also heard the loud sirens of police cars and ambulances blaring in his ears.He hated how noisy car sirens were. His bright bronze eyes were strained to observe the extent of the damage to Shada's car. He snorted, his breath caught. It was unfortunate why this had to happen to Shada. Especially since he couldn't meet the woman last night. His eyes then shifted to a man in a hat with severe injuries all over his body. Especially on his head. The man was closed and his hands drooped weakly as the health workers moved him into the ambulance. It was confirmed that the man died on the spot.Demian sighed heavily. Fortunately, he was not too late. The impact on Shada's head was already bleeding profusely. Luckily, the man's car had hit the back of Shada's car. If the badly wrecked part had been where Shada was driving, she would have been beyond help.As soon as the
"What do you mean?" Shada turned her body around and faced Ruth fully."What does Max have to do with Jennifer?" Shada's dark brown eyes blinked rapidly. Curiosity suddenly got the better of her.Ruth sighed again. Suddenly the woman lost her oxygen supply, as if she was being attacked by asthma. She then held both of Shada's shoulders firmly. "This is for your own good, Shada. But there's something inexplicable going on between the two of them. There's something you don't know."Shada looked skeptically at Ruth's very serious face. Even now, the woman's dark eyes were red and teary.Ruth is definitely not playing around. Shada thought. But Shada preferred to deny it. Max was not as bad as Ruth said. She had known Max for about six years. He was faithful and never had anything to do with any woman other than her. Except Morris, of course.Shada shook her head softly and folded her forehead. "You must be wrong, Ruth." Her gaze was incredulous.Ruth immediately snorted and moved in frus
"Tell me what you're working on in this document!" Leo said sharply to Shada who turned to stare at the man.Shada then strode closer, wanting to confirm what the man who was pointing at some parts of the document meant.Shada frowned, not understanding. The parts that Leo was pointing out had been carefully examined and read many times. Shada could guarantee that there were no mistakes in those parts. After all, Shada had made the same document not just once or twice."What do you mean, Mr. Leo?" asked Shada confused.Leo laughed sarcastically while rubbing his face in frustration. It seemed like he wasn't talking to an old employee, but an eight-year-old elementary school student. Meanwhile, Shada was already starting to get annoyed because Leo's attitude seemed to trivialize her."Let me check again." Shada half-snorted, about to take the paper back. But it was prevented by Leo's burly hand."That's not necessary! You should have checked it before it was even printed!" Leo snapped,
Ruth swallowed her saliva with difficulty, too tense to believe a fact she didn't want to believe. How could Max, who was so cold and loyal, be tempted by Jennifer? Besides, what did Shada lack?Shada is more naturally beautiful, good character, always positive. Anyway, Shada is better than Jennifer. Yes, although Ruth had to admit, there were some similarities between the two that she couldn't explain. Other than the color of their eyes of course.Ruth immediately froze and pressed her lips together during the meeting. Oh, why was she the only one who knew that. Ruth was so depressed about keeping such a big secret. Damn it!Ruth averted her eyes, unwilling to look at Max or Jennifer. She already had an ill-feel for the snake woman from the start. Now it was even more so. Ruth had even lost respect for Max. What an asshole! Ruth said to herself.Ruth occasionally stole glances at Shada who was listening to some reports solemnly and calmly. Ruth was devastated. It was a pity to see he
"No!" He groaned as he looked at Shada.Even though his eyes were fixed on Shada who was fast asleep. But more than that, Demian was looking at the future. His future and Shada's.Demian was sad and disappointed. He witnessed a fragment of Shada who was angry and getting away from him. She didn't want to see Demian anymore. Suddenly Demian's chest was tight. He took in as much ambient air as he could. Trying to calm down by filling his lungs with oxygen. What had he done to make Shada stay away from him? Demian tried to analyze.Demian looked back at Shada who was still asleep with a wide-eyed gaze. He was frustrated because he couldn't find any possible wrongdoing on his part."What should I do?" Demian whispered as he gently touched the door that reflected a faint shadow of his handsome face.Demian gave up. He understood that he could do nothing. The future is something mysterious and cannot be prevented. In the meantime, all Demian could do was avoid small mistakes that he might a
Instantly Demian bent his face. What did he just say? Paid in full? It couldn't. Demian's unacceptable words echoed throughout his mind. The reason is, because of Darwin his life has changed instantly. Maybe his old life wasn't as good as what he feels now. But deep inside, Demian did not want and did not accept a destiny that changed his life 180 degrees overnight. It would only put more distance between him and his first love. It could even be lost.Vampires could never be with humans. It was clearly written there. Coexistence might still be possible. The vampires in the human world always concealed their identity. Working and eating like ordinary humans. But to marry with humans and produce cute children? It felt like nature would reject even more firmly.Vampires and humans seemed to live in the same place, but in different dimensions. Like a coin with two different sides.Demian brushed the nape of his neck and moved awkwardly. “I make no promises. If I can, I'll bring it here.”
