“Marco wants to see you.”

The voice was soft, drifting into my mind just as the last of my sleep faded away. My eyes felt heavy and stubborn, resisting the morning light. I knew I had to see him for a dozen different reasons, I wanted to see him.

“Ma'am,” the voice added tentatively, “should I arrange a car for you?”

“No,” I mumbled, my voice still thick with sleep. “Just send me the address. I’ll go on my own.”

Some meetings are better handled alone.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Ronin… we couldn’t save her.”The doctor’s voice didn’t echo. It landed. It was the sound of a heavy blade hitting damp earth final, merciless, and deafening.Ronin didn’t move. For a heartbeat, he looked like a statue carved from grief, staring into a void where his world used to be. Then, the cracks appeared. His shoulders, once broad enough to carry the weight of an entire criminal empire, began to shake.I had never seen Ronin cry.Not when he stood over the men who begged for their lives. Not when his own blood stained the marble floors of his study. He had always been a storm destructive, inevitable, and cold. But now, the storm has broken. A sound tore from his chest a raw, animalistic wail that made my own skin prickle. He collapsed into the chair beside Suzie’s bed, his fingers white as he clutched the hospital sheet.I watched him, my heart a block of ice. There was no pity in me. Only a dark, simmering sense of justice. He had discarded me like a used cig

My eyes lingered on Suzie, one last, agonizing glimpse of the woman who had stolen the life that was supposed to be mine. But the moment was severed by the touch of a hand on my arm.Slow. Deliberate. Possessive.“I told you you’d regret it,” a voice murmured, the warmth of his breath ghosting against my ear. “My father could never be with you. He already had Suzie. And more than you... he needed her.” Nathalie spoke, looking down at me.There was a terrifying sliver of sympathy in his tone, a softness that felt like a serrated blade. I jerked my gaze toward him, my blood turning to liquid fire.“Shut up, Nathy,” I snapped, my voice trembling with the weight of my own wreckage. “I’m not in the mood to dig up the past.”He didn't flinch. Instead, he let out a soft, melodic laugh that made my skin crawl. “Past?” He leaned in closer, his scent expensive cologne and cold ambition filling my senses. “Honey, I’m trying to save your future.”His eyes swept across the room, mocking and slow.

The house was glowing with warmth when I returned, but to me, it felt like a tomb. The air was filled with the scent of expensive lilies and the sound of clinking champagne glasses. Only a few close friends had been invited, the "inner circle" that I used to lead.As I moved toward the bar to grab a drink I didn't want, I heard a group of women whispering near the grand staircase. I stopped behind a pillar, my breath catching."I honestly don't know why Bella is even here," one whispered, her voice dripping with fake pity. "It’s so awkward. She’s like a third wheel at her own husband's party.""Did you hear? He moved her to the guest room," another added with a muffled giggle. "She’s basically the glorified nanny at this point. I give it a month before Ronin realizes he doesn't need a reminder of his past hanging around the hallway.""It’s embarrassing," a third voice chimed in. "If I were her, I’d at least have the dignity to leave before he officially kicks her out."The words felt

Ronin was on the living room sofa, his entire focus on the tiny person in his arms. The baby let out a soft, breathy giggle as Ronin’s usually stern fingers tickled his little palms.“Good morning, boys,” I said.Ronin looked up and smiled. I leaned down to give him a quick hug, and for a split second, it felt like we were a normal family again.“Where are you headed?” he asked. His tone was casual, but his eyes were sharp. He didn’t miss much.I played it co

  • Trapped by my Ex’s Mafia Dad   New Baby home

His wife and child were welcomed home like royalty. The town’s top decor management team had been hired; soft lights, white drapes, and fresh flowers transformed the house into something straight out of a magazine spread. A small celebration was arranged, intimate yet grand, and the media lingered nearby to capture every smile, every proud glance.“Madame, where should I put this?” the nurse asked, balancing the baby basket carefully in her arms. She had accompanied them to help with Suzie and the baby.“On my head,” I replied without missing a beat. She froze, eyes widening, clearly trying to decide whether I was joking or giving an actual instruction. I let the moment stretch for a second before turning away, a smile tugging at my lips.Across the room, Suzie and Ronin stood near the table where a small, adorable cake was set up with blue and white frosting, my son’s name delicately written on top. Ronin lifted his glass slightly and addressed everyone.“Everyone, we’re going to cu

  • Trapped by my Ex’s Mafia Dad   Unfolding Secrets

Have you ever seen worry flashing on a don’s face? That’s exactly how Ronin looked when he burst through the hospital doors.“Where is she? Is she okay? And the baby?” The questions showered over me like a frantic storm. His eyes, usually cold and calculating, were wide and searching.“She’s in the labor room. Doctors are with her. She will be alright,” I said, reaching out to grab his hands. They were ice-cold, vibrating with a tension he couldn’t suppress.“Let me talk to her doctor.” He jerked his arm, trying to free his hand from mine.“Wait, there’s no need for that. I have already had a word with her doctor. Let them do their work.” I tightened my grip, anchoring him to the spot.“No, Bella. I have to be inside with her,” he insisted. His voice lacked its usual commanding edge; it was replaced by a raw, human desperation. In that moment, he wasn't a don overseeing an empire; he was just a man terrified for his family.“Ronin, listen to me. The doctor won’t let you in. Men aren't
