The ANS Dawnbreaker, one of Fleet 02’s destroyers, locked on immediately. Two missiles streaked across the sky. The first hit the creature’s midsection, blasting through muscle and bone. The second struck its eye, detonating deep within its skull.

The explosion rocked the waters and the beast thrashed in agony before finally sinking beneath the waves, never to rise again. The sailors aboard the Dawnbreaker let out a unified cheer, whilst locals aboard their small escort boats wept openly.

The unconquerable beast was dead. As the fleets pressed on, they encountered pirates, sea raiders, and rogue militias who had long dominated the river networks and coastal regions.

But these medieval marauders, armed with rickety ships and iron cannons, found themselves utterly outmatched. Against Aeternum’s modern destroyers, missile systems, and naval infantry, they were no more than pebbles before a landslide.
