Eileen's POV
"Eileen. You can make your own choice," Arthur said, his eyes bloodshot, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed hard. His voice was strained, filled with an emotion I couldn't quite place.
My shoulders slumped. "I'll see him, but that doesn't mean I forgive you for what you've done to me," I finally replied, my voice steady but laced with bitterness.
Growing up, Alpha Joseph had been like a father to me and Alex. In my younger years, he was the embodiment of warmth and safety, though everything changed after that incident.
"Irene, leave. Don’t set foot in the Blackwood pack again," Alpha Joseph had coldly declared when I lay wounded at the pack's border, my heart shattered along with my trust.
I shook off the painful memory. Hearing about his deteriorating health, my concern had outweighed my anger. I remembered the days when his strong, fatherly embrace had comforted me.
When I arrived at the hospital, I didn’t see Brett or Kyle, the other two of the triplets. I was relieved they weren’t there—they were the ones who had truly hurt me. I feared that if I saw them, I’d leave, no matter Alpha Joseph’s condition.
"You came, Irene," Alpha Joseph’s voice broke through my thoughts. He called out, and I bit my lip, nodding. My eyes darted nervously to the door, flanked by two guards who bowed at the sight of Arthur. My heart raced. After all these years, I was finally going to see Alpha Joseph.
I swallowed hard and stepped inside. Alex led us into a spacious room dominated by a massive golden canopy bed in the center. Machines and IV stands surrounded it.
My eyes widened as I saw Alpha Joseph lying there. He looked so small on that enormous bed, as if it might swallow him whole. I gasped. The once-mighty Alpha, feared and respected by the pack, now lay there frail and weak. I couldn’t believe it. Was this really Alpha Joseph?
I stopped, feeling as though my feet were glued to the floor. Everyone turned to look at me, but I ignored them, my eyes fixed on the man in the bed. He looked even smaller, thinner, barely able to move, as if he were hanging on by a thread. A wave of sorrow washed over me, and tears welled up in my eyes.
"I... Irene? Is that you?" I heard him say. His voice was unrecognizable—once firm and full of life, now just a trembling whisper. No, this couldn’t be.
Arthur rushed to Alpha Joseph’s side as he struggled to sit up. I swallowed hard, clutching Amber tighter, and boldly walked to the bed. He looked up at me, a single tear rolling down his face, and my heart shattered.
"Dad," Arthur called, but Alpha Joseph ignored his son, his frail hand trembling as it reached for me. He grasped me tightly, and it broke me.
"I... Irene, I’m... so glad to see you," he choked out. I fought back tears.
"Alpha Joseph," I whispered, pulling him back. This man had been my guardian, my father figure. Despite the pain they had caused me years ago, seeing him like this tore me apart.
"I failed them... I... I failed your parents—" He started coughing, and Arthur rushed to get him a glass of water, but Alpha Joseph stubbornly shook his head, refusing it.
"I’m sorry... I want... to apologize before I die," he said, and I felt tears streaming down my cheeks. I couldn’t stop crying.
"Dad, you’re not going to die! We’ll find a way to make you better. Please, don’t say that!" Arthur shouted. "Brett’s on his way back, and Kyle... he can’t come home yet. Dad, you have to stay strong..."
But Alpha Joseph just let out a dry laugh. I noticed Brett had returned, and my unease grew.
"Son, there’s no need to be so tense. It’s time to face reality. I know my health is failing, but I want to set things right before I go." He coughed again, and I held him tighter. I didn’t want him to go. Not like this.
"Alpha Joseph, save your strength. You don’t need to apologize to me," I said, shaking my head as tears fell. Seeing the old man so fragile, I forgot the pain of the past.
"I... always knew you were innocent," he said.
My eyes widened in shock. Why? My body trembled.
Everyone stared at Alpha Joseph in disbelief, especially Arthur.
"Dad... what are you saying?"
"Alpha Joseph!"
Arthur and Alex’s voices rang out simultaneously, filled with shock.
"No! Please tell me this isn’t true! Dad!" Arthur demanded, his voice breaking.
"Alpha Joseph! Why? You knew I was innocent! Why didn’t you clear my name? Why? Why were you so cruel to me? What did I do wrong?!" I broke down, trembling uncontrollably.
"You don’t know what I’ve been through!" I shouted at him, and Alpha Joseph began coughing violently.
Alex immediately rushed over and held me, trying to calm me down. "Irene, shh... we need to hear why Alpha Joseph did this."
Yes, why? He had always been so kind to me and Alex. I couldn’t think of any reason he would hurt me like this.
"Dad. Please tell us why you did this," Arthur said, swallowing hard as he looked at Alpha Joseph.
Alpha Joseph’s gaze finally settled on me, and he spoke, "Irene, I did it because... there was a prophecy about you." He coughed again, and I saw confusion spread across everyone’s faces.
Alpha Joseph continued, "I exiled you because I knew about the prophecy tied to you. Your power would bring both blessings and curses to the pack. I... as the Alpha, chose to protect the pack. But... even after you left, the pack continued to face attacks from dark forces. Your exile didn’t bring peace. So when Arthur and the others uncovered the truth of your innocence, they wanted you back, and I agreed. I’m glad I could make amends before I died. Irene, I’m sorry! Promise me you’ll stay and help the pack, okay?"
A prophecy? Dark forces?!
I was as confused as everyone else. "Dad... what are you talking about?" Arthur rushed to Joseph, but he just stared wide-eyed, coughing up more blood, his hand freezing mid-air.
"Dad!" Arthur’s anguished cry echoed through the room. I watched as Amber clung to me, tears streaming down her face.
Amber seemed to sense something was wrong.
"Alpha Joseph," I croaked, but this time, he didn’t respond. We watched as his breathing stopped, his chest no longer rising.
Alpha Joseph was gone. The once-mighty Alpha now lay lifeless in the bed.
My emotions were a tangled mess—pain, anger. Yet, I couldn’t blame him. The safety of the pack had always come first. I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself.
"Mom?" I heard Amber’s small voice and looked down to see her wide eyes staring up at me.
Suddenly, the hospital door burst open, and a familiar scent filled the air. I looked up to see a tall figure—more mature, more handsome, his racing suit perfectly outlining his muscular frame.
Brett! My heart skipped a beat.
"Dad!" Brett rushed to Alpha Joseph’s side, grabbing his arm as if the pain was tearing his heart apart. He fell to his knees.
"Let’s get you two out of here," Alex said, pulling me away. I turned to see the triplets gathered around their late father. Their faces were stoic, but I knew they were holding back tears. My heart ached for them, and I hesitated as Alex led me away.
I caught Brett’s gaze, and it felt like he was pleading for me to stay. But I had to leave now. The bond between us made it impossible to hold onto the pain of the past. Seeing them hurt was like a dagger to my heart.
Alex offered to take Amber and me back to the packaging plant—the place where I had grown up with the triplets and Alex.
I had to compromise. I had to attend Alpha Joseph’s funeral and unravel the mystery surrounding me.
Eileen's POVAs I left the hospital and saw the familiar pack, memories of past abuse assaulted my soul."You should let them claim you as their mate! They've never been more vulnerable!" my wolf roared. I refused to respond. I could feel Arthur and Brett's pain, but the scars of the past and the fresh betrayal from Jason… I couldn't do it.I told her to shut up. I watched Amber quietly playing with her doll, lost in thought.Arthur seemed to have uncovered the truth about my innocence. But what had really happened to the Luna? Why had Alpha Joseph said those things?Back then, all the rogue scents had vanished, leaving only me and the Luna's body. I'd been unconscious and had no memory of what happened. I'd always wondered how I'd survived. I must have smelled something familiar before I blacked out.I felt uneasy. Scents were the hardest to erase. If dark magic truly existed, it meant all packs were in grave danger…"It's time to use our power, Eileen," my wolf said for the first ti
Eileen's POV"I promise you, for a while," I finally said.Arthur and Brett hugged me tightly, and I could feel their shoulders relax, before they left with the warrior. I was informed to finish breakfast with Amber and join them after. At the breakfast table, Amber still ate independently without my help. The unease in my heart eased again. I ate silently, but the sweet mate scent still lingered in the air. When they embraced me, my heart had actually anticipated more - kisses, hugs, even further...Thinking that, I couldn't help clenching my thighs together, my face heating up."Mom, are you hot?" Amber asked in confusion."No! Sweetheart, I..." I flustered, when Alex suddenly appeared."Elleen! Are you two done?" Alex's timely arrival saved me from the awkwardness. Seeing Amber's empty plate, I nodded.Alex nodded back, then led us to the burial site.It was a private ceremony with only a few attending.I kept watching the triplets' two brothers, seeing their stoic faces refusing t
Jason's POV"Alpha Jason, it's of no use. We're getting the same reports" Silas said, walking into my office and I looked up at him with a heavy frown on my face, hoping I wouldn't be receiving bad news but the look on his face already gave me the answer to what I need."What are you taking about Silas?" I asked him and he dropped a file on my desk and let out a sigh looking frustrated."The attacks on the pack borders, they are getting increasingly troublesome with each one deadlier than the last" He said and my heart dropped, I turned away from him and looked out of the window."And none of our methods have been effective?" I asked and turned to see him none, pursing him lips."None of them, Alpha Jason. This whole issue has tongue-wagging. I believe you've heard about the rumors, not just anyone but even the council members are now murmuring" Silas said and my eyes narrowed."What are they saying Silas?" I demanded and he bit his lower lips before blurting out the words."They are
Eileen's POVWhen I woke from unconsciousness, I found myself lying in a familiar room. Memories flooded back - I had shifted into a white wolf and killed the invading rogue wolves. I had never revealed this secret to Jason before, but now, Arthur knew.I tried to get up but saw Arthur standing by the bed, his gaze heavy. That look instantly took me back ten years, when I was thirteen and Luna passed away - the suspicion and rejection from the pack. Nora had told me that despite the white wolf's powerful healing abilities, it was still seen as an omen of misfortune. Had Arthur's attitude changed because of this too?"I will leave with Amber," I said coldly, though my heart ached faintly. The love and protection I had just felt seemed to be slipping away again."Leave? No, Elleen!" Arthur grabbed my hand anxiously. "We need you.""Need me? Why?" I looked at him in confusion."Do you remember shifting into the white wolf and killing those rogue wolves last night? We examined their bodie
Elleen's POVAt this moment, I didn't know what to do. My heart was struggling, too many questions flooded my mind: Why was I being hunted by rogues after leaving the Stoneheart pack? Why did I appear in the prophecy proposed by Alpha Joseph? What impact would my existence bring to the Blackwood pack?Considering my past experiences, I wasn't sure if this was a good choice. As I was about to refuse, I saw the pained look in Arthur's eyes."Elleen, believe me, I swear to the Moon Goddess that no matter what happens this time, I will stand by your side.""Elleen! Accept our mate's request! We need a mate!" my wolf urged me. "We need to kick those guys' butts!"I couldn't continue to leave here in disgrace, I had to unravel the truth!I looked him straight in the eye, then nodded.Arthur's gaze immediately turned scorching hot, his large, fiery palm enveloping the back of my hand. Part of me felt excited, especially by his eager gaze. From the first time I saw him, his gaze carried guilt
Eileen's POV"Ding ding ding..."In the early morning, the phone kept ringing. I hesitated whether to answer it or not.But Arthur seemed anxious, calling me over and over again. Since I hadn't joined the Blackwood wolf pack yet, we couldn't use the mind link.I took a deep breath, ultimately wanting to hear what Arthur wanted from me."Elleen..." Arthur's anxious voice came through immediately. "Why didn't you answer the phone, did something happen?"My fingers touched the silver pendant, and I ultimately chose to conceal this matter. I hadn't figured out the relationship between Kyle and the witches yet, so I didn't want to cause unnecessary panic."I'm fine. Arthur...I was just a little tired last night and slept too deeply," I explained. I heard Arthur breathe a sigh of relief."I thought you took Amber and were planning to sneak away again," Arthur said painfully."No! Arthur, I promised Alpha Joseph that I wouldn't leave without notice," I said firmly. "What happened?" I recalle
Eileen's POVI was happy to see him, but at the same time filled with worry. Anyone from another wolf pack coming to a different pack would be seen as an invader and immediately killed!"Silas...how did you get here?" I suddenly recalled Jason's previous wanted notice for me. "Did Alpha Jason send you?"I became guarded, my claws extending.Silas immediately lowered his head to me. "Luna Elleen...""No! I'm not your luna anymore, Silas," I shook my head."Please, luna! The Stone Heart pack is in terrible condition now. That omega Lina is actually a witch! She betrayed Alpha Jason, and the child she's carrying isn't Jason's. This is all a plot by the dark forces! Now we all need you and Amber to return and help us..." Silas pleaded.Witches...again witches. It seemed like witches had appeared in traces across various packs recently. There must be some grand conspiracy behind it all. I thought of Kyle's disguise again - could he be involved in this?As for Alpha Jason, when I heard Sila
Eileen's POVI stood there, still trying to process what had just happened. One minute I was walking away and the next, Mark was attacking me. But before he could do any real damage, someone appeared out of nowhere and kicked him to the ground.I looked up to see it was Arthur. My brows were raised in surprise. When did he get here? I had not seen or noticed him. Had he been watching the entire fight?"Arthur" I called out softly in surprise.Arthur stood over Mark, his eyes blazing with fury. I was a little relieved. Mark had lost his mind. Eveyrone knew it was an unspoken rule to not attack a soldier who had his back turned to you.Arthur's anger was very obvious and i feel the tension in the air as he glared at Mark. "How dare you," he growled, his voice low and menacing. Everyone in the training field had stopped talking and they froze, watching the scene. They were probably as surprised as I was to see their Alpha come out of nowhere to attack Mark and protect me."A.. Alpha Arth
Eileen's POVI stood in the living room, my heart racing a little. Kyle, Brett and Arthur were also here and I had packed up. I had agreed to help them by going to the Fang's pack but I never knew it would be so soon, I only had a few hours to pack and get ready before moving out. But I couldn't just leave, I had to inform Alex and Amber. I didn't know if Alex was aware already but from what it looked like, it seemed like he wasn't informed by the triplets of their plan. I didn't know how to break the news to Amber, I was going to be leaving my daughter for what seemed like forever, I wasn't sure how long it was going to take and when I would be returning. I guessed I had to hurry whatever I was going to do over there at the fang's pack up.I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down, and turned to my brother Alex and my daughter Amber. They were sitting on the couch, looking at me with concern etched on their faces."Eileen are you okay? What's going on?"
Eileen's POVAfter I was done talking, the triplets' reaction shocked me. They immediately screamed "no", their voices echoing through the room in unison. I was taken aback by their refusal to accept my rejection. Brett's face was red with anger, Arthur's eyes were filled with a deep sadness, and Kyle's voice was shaking with emotion."What!" I blurted out more surprised than annoyed. After everything they had done and said, I thought they would be happy or at least relieved to see that I was the one rejecting them. They made it clear to me that they weren't interested in whatever it was that we had together anymore. That they didn't need me again and they didn't want me again, why would they say no and refuse? I was confused and frowned at them.Brett took a step forward, his eyes pleading. "Eileen, please," he said. "You can't just reject us like this. No, you can't reject us, we are you mate. You would be ruining all of us by doing so."Arthur's face was twisted in anguish, his eye
Eileen's POVI slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I was in the apartment assigned to me in the Blackwood Pack. The room was cozy, with a large bed and a comfortable-looking couch. But it was the scent that caught my attention. The faint scent of Brett and Kyle lingered in the air, transporting me back to the moments we had shared together. I could almost feel their presence, their touch, their love. But then the reality of it hit me like a hard brick thrown to my face in the morning. It was all a lie, it was all an act and pretense, They didn't want me. They had rejected me, shattered my heart into a million pieces. I felt that pain coming back again and groaned, sitting up. Tears foamed in my eyes. Again, first it was Jason, now the triplets, what had I done to deserve such harsh treatments from my own mates, why was everyone doing this to me? Why did I always end up being hurt.It took a lot for me to not break down and start crying at that moment. I felt a p
Eileen's POVI stood there, my body shaking with sobs, my heart breaking into a million pieces. I couldn't believe what was happening. I couldn't believe that the triplets were rejecting me, choosing someone else over me. The pain was suffocating, crushing me beneath its weight.Just as I thought I couldn't take it anymore, the door burst open and Alex entered, not noticing me breaking apart, he walked straight towards Arthur. "Alpha, I need to report an unexpected visit from the Silver Fang pack," he said, his eyes scanning the room. But as he took in the scene before him, his expression changed from confusion to shock. His eyes widened as he took in the sight of the triplets with another woman, and he turned to me, his face filled with concern."What's happening?" He whispered realizing something was wrong. I was sure my eyes were red and puffy at this point. I felt utterly embarrassed and ashamed to face him. I just wanted to leave, I was tired of it all."Eileen what's going on" T
Eileen's POVThe next morning, I woke up to an empty bed, the space beside me cold and unoccupied. Kyle was already gone, but I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. Everything seemed to be moving in the right direction, and my heart was full. I blushed as I thought about the way he had felt in my arms last night, the intimacy we had shared. It was as if our bond had grown stronger, our connection deeper. I could still feel the warmth of his touch, the gentle way he had held me. It was a feeling I never wanted to forget. It felt so good and I felt a familiar pulse down there. I let out a sigh and bit on my lower lip, I was hopelessly falling so fast for the tripletsI laid there for what felt like hours, staring up at the ceiling and basking in the warmth of our newfound closeness, my Mindlink suddenly buzzed to life. Arthur's voice echoed in my mind. "Eileen please come to the meeting room" he said and disconnected immediately before i could reply.I groaned inwardly, n
Eileen's POVThe day went by quickly with me busying myself with Amber and some other pack related issues. Night fell and I didn't see Arthur, Brett, Alex or even Kyle at the dinning table and i imagined it was because of the little rock Kyle had found. They must be busy with trying to decode the little prophecy on the Rock and I let out a sigh trying not to think too about it.Dinner was quite quiet than normal and if I was being a little bit honest it was quite boring as we were only two on the dining table. It was just Amber and I. After dinner I tucked in Amber to bed and went to shower before retiring to my own bed.I was about to fall asleep when I felt the bed go deep and my eyes widened at the realization, someone was in bed with me! I was about to panic but his scent enveloped me, calming me down."Kyle" I whispered. What was he doing here? Why was he in my bed and so late at night and how come I didn't hear him come in.An arm snaked around my waist. I jumped, letting out a
Eileen's POVThe days passed and Alex finally softened up to Arthur and Brett and gave them his permission to be with me after they promised to not hurt me which I found cute. And Under Alex's watchful eyes, I was unable to spend the night with my mates. Yet, surprisingly, I felt a sense of peace, my heart was steady, knowing my little family was working toward unity.I was eating my lunch, lost in thought, when I heard the door open. I looked up to see Kyle standing in the doorway, his eyes locked onto mine. My heart skipped a beat and my eyes widened at the sight of him. Kyle, Kyle was here!I had known he was coming back, but I hadn't expected to see him so soon. I had thought I was prepared, but the sight of him took my breath away. He was as attractive as the last time I saw him. What was he doing here tho? In the dinning hall, shouldn't he be with Arthur? I bit on my lower lip.He looked a bit nervous, fidgeting with his hands as he approached me."Eileen, hey" he called out wit
Kyle's POVI settled into the chair in my office, letting out a deep sigh as I gazed up at the ceiling, my eyes tracing the familiar patterns of the tiles. My mind was a jumble of thoughts, all centered around one person: Eileen. The memories of our past, of our bond, of our rejection, swirled in my head like a vortex, pulling me down into a whirlpool of emotions.I ran my fingers through my hair feeling frustrated and confused. What was I going to do now? How would I possibly face her? I knew I couldn't run away forever, I would eventually have to go back to the pack, and I would see her. I bit on my lower lips, lost in thoughts. My phone rang, shrill in the silence, and I picked it up, my heart a little as I checked who was calling. I didn't know why I felt disappointed that It was Arthur and not eileen. What was I thinking? She wouldn't reach out to me on my own."Hello?" I said after answering the call and Arthur inside replied, his voice firm and commanding on the other end. "Whe
Eileen's POV"What the fuck!" I was startled by the hell and turned to see Alex looking at me with his eyes blazing. He looked shocked, his eyes scanning the room before landing on me and Arthur, who were still entwined on the bed, our bodies wrapped around each other in a intimate embrace."What is going on here?" Alex demanded, his voice low and menacing, his words dripping with venom. He took a step closer to the bed, his eyes fixed on Arthur, his fists clenched at his sides.I quickly pushed Arthur away from me and held up my hands in a calming gesture, trying to placate my brother. "Alex, calm down, we can talk this out," I said, her voice soft and soothing, but laced with a hint of desperation and worry. But Alex looked like he was having none of it. His face darkened, and he growled, "Arthur, get the fuck away from my sister." His voice was like thunder, shaking the very foundations of the room.Arthur, however, didn't seem intimidated. He sat up, his eyes locked onto Alex's, a
