Chapter 13

EMY'S POV

No one ever knew how to answer a question they didn't know about but after what happened a few minutes ago, I wish I had the answer to everything so it hurt me to say, "I... I don't know."

"What do you mean?" He asked even when he sounded the least surprised.

"I don't know if I have parents. The first memory I have is being in the MoonShadow Pack."

"Wasn't that Pack swallowed up by Jerry?" He tried to remember.

"It was."

"So you've been alone ever since?"

"Yes," was I supposed to add to that information? "I have no memories of my parents and no one ever came to claim me," I trailed off. The rest was pretty obvious from there.

"Did you have any guardian, Emy?" He got to his feet just as a knock sounded on the door and he headed there.

I wiped my eyes for any sign of tears before he returned holding a tray. He drew the chair closer and sat next to me.

"You should eat," he said and started to feed me. I wondered what he thought too. Did he think I tried to kill myself?
