EMY'S POV
I didn't stick around for more than two seconds. I jumped to my feet and chased after them.
What were they running from? I didn't want to look behind me. What if I saw something bigger than myself?
Their legs were longer and I was no match for their speed. At this rate, they would leave me behind and I would end up paying for what I knew nothing about.
"Wait!" I called after them. "Please wait!" I almost choked on the lump in my throat. My vision was getting blurry and coupled with the night sky, it was getting too hard to see.
There were times where I cursed my wolfless nature and this was one of them. I couldn't even see in the dark nor did I have the strong sense of smell to find or trace anything. There was nothing special about me.
"Why the fuck is that thing following us?"
Their voices! I could try to trace their voice. If they would just continue speaking-
"What? Get rid of her!"They were just up ahead. I could catch up if I just continued in this direction-
"She's fucking leading them to us! Do something about her now!"
Up until now, I had ignored their conversations, paying attention to only the sound of their voice and trying to detect where it was coming from but I couldn't help but pay attention to the last part because it was literally screamed.Do something about who?Something kicked my stomach with enough force that could knock out my guts. All the miles I had managed to cover was nothing because I was thrown back with that single kick. I slammed my back against a tree, coughing up blood and holding my stomach like it would burst. My knees were weak and covered in dirt as I knelt on mud.My vision was hazy and the only sound that filled my ears were my heavy pants and soon, the sound of footsteps rushing to me.Did they come back?I couldn't make out their faces but instead of the three men that I followed into the woods, there were six standing before me.Maybe I was just seeing double. My stomach still hurts from that kick straight to my guts. If I survived this one, I was certain nothing could pose a threat to my life."Bring her in," someone barked harshly and on cue, two hands grabbed me roughly by the arm, pulling me up without mercy."The Alphas are already in a bad mood. On the bright side, your death will be quick."*****They dragged me around and I was only half conscious most of the time. I was more concerned with watching my breath as I seemed to be losing it every minute.I still clenched my hand on my stomach as it burned from inside out while the metallic taste of blood still stuck to my mouth.I paid no attention to the path we followed but from their conversations, we had long crossed the border and we were now in the Silverfang Pack.According to them, I had committed such a grievous crime by trespassing into their territory and everyone knew that the penalty for that was death."Shouldn't we clean her up before making her appear before the Alphas?" Someone suggested."She's going to die shortly after. Why waste good resources on a dead thing?"Their words made my heart pound faster and faster. The way they called death upon me made me doubt if I was still alive but the ache in my stomach was enough to slam reality upon me.What was the point of it? I could die any moment now. From all the rumours I had heard of the Silverfang Pack, the Alphas were ruthless and merciless in their judgement. There was also a rumour that instead of one Alpha, there were three. How could three Alphas rule one Pack? If that was possible, Alpha Jerry should consider that because his Pack was getting too big for one man to handle. But then again, Silverfang was more like a City- according to the rumours. It operated on a whole different level from the other Packs that caused many to admire and even envy- in the case of Alpha Jerry.Sadly, I wasn't here for sightseeing.By the time I had recovered from the mind numbing pain, we were before a mansion. My jaw dropped in awe as I gawked at the building before me. This was ten times bigger than the so-called 'mansion' that Alpha Jerry lived in.They whisked me inside and the next thing, I was being flung across the room like a filthy rag. While I picked myself up, I noticed the floor was dark marble tiles and it was cool to the touch. This was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in all my life. I was so fascinated by the floor that I felt like my whole body was too dirty and would probably stain it.I pulled the long sleeve of my shirt and wiped the little drop of blood that had stained the floor from my knee.I heard the door open but I was too mesmerised by the floor to even pay attention to it."My Lord,"Lord? Who still referred to anyone as Lord these days? I raised my head from the floor to see who was being addressed as such.I sucked in a breath as I stared shamelessly at the man that walked across the large desk with three empty seats behind. The first thing I noticed was his hair in a loose ponytail rolled into a doughnut. The nape of his neck was fair and smooth. He wore a wine long sleeved shirt and when he sat on the desk facing my direction, I noticed the first four to five buttons were undone giving me a sneak peak at his chest. His attention was on the glass cup he filled with water from a jug and when he glanced at me, my heart skipped a beat. His black eyes stared at me lazily before he turned to the guard beside me in silent question."She was caught trespassing on Pack land, Alpha," the guard explained."Oh," his face, however, did not convey any emotion rather than boredom. "Is that so?""Yes, Alpha. The others she was with managed to escape. Forgive me, I shall do well to investigate-""Uh huh," he looked away, raising the cup to his mouth for a drink.I watched his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed and I found myself salivating. That cup must be really lucky. The way the Alpha even kissed it so lightly-"Hunter!"I flinched at the sudden yell as the door was kicked open. Two men walked in, taking long strides with a dominating aura guiding their steps."You can't just walk out on your brothers. Where are your manners?""Don't yell too loudly, Thorn. Why do you always have to be so aggressive?"I stared at the familiar faces of both men in shock, wondering where I had seen them before. They had the same hair and they were the same height, they looked like the same person in different copies-I turned back to the Alpha who first walked in and I glanced again at the two who followed after. What sort of sorcery was this? They looked like… Triplets? Were they the rumoured three Alphas that ruled Silverfang Pack?I had seen identical twins before but identical triplets? They literally had the same face-"Is this the trespasser?" His face was in a scowl and his voice sent chills down my spine. I had never been in such an intimidating presence before in my life. I couldn't even look them in the eye. I stared at their shirts instead with clenched fists as I felt the heaviness of their gazes upon me."So you've heard."Their voices were also the same. It was impossible to tell who was speaking but this voice belonged to the first one who walked in. I could hear the uninterested tone in his voice. The guard went on to explain my offence and with each word he spoke, sweat broke out on my skin. I was realizing just how fucked I was. Surely, there was no escaping death today."So that's how Jerry wants to play it, huh? No formal introduction just sending out spies instead.”They thought I was sent here as a spy? If only they knew.I peaked at them. They were hovering over each other, passing the glass cup and the jug around. They were in the same clothes and even the same hairstyle. I wondered if their mates could tell them apart."He has been trying to seek our audience for a while now," One of the Alpha's mentioned and soon chuckled with a smile that caused me to gasp.So that’s what they looked like with a smile."The man has evil intentions," he glanced at me. "Clearly," our eyes met but instead of looking away, I stared. He tilted his head almost unnoticeably and I followed the action. When he squinted his eyes, I looked to the other one and this time, I met with a glare.I lowered my head immediately, thinking to myself how they all shared different emotions."Is this his way of mocking us?" The smile in his voice had me raising my head again. "Sending a puny female covered in dirt to what? Fight?" he scoffed. "I almost feel so ashamed.""There's no need for that. This one will serve as a lesson," his stern voice and slightly aggressive tone almost made me whimper but I couldn't stop staring at their faces. He rose to his feet and moved towards the window. It was looking at handsomeness in three different mirrors all portraying the same image. My goodness! Any mother would be jealous."Yes, Alpha," the guard replied. I noticed he always said 'Alpha' and that was it. I had a feeling it was because he knew their names but telling them apart was a hassle. There was a knock on the door and it opened immediately. A guard walked in with a document in his hand. He bowed before the Alphas, "The commander asked me to hand this over to Alpha Thorn. He said he already made changes to it." he hesitated in his steps and I saw he looked back and forth between them."Uhm," he squeezed the document tighter. "Alpha Thorn… sir-"The Alpha smiled, "Bring it here-""But he's not Alpha Thorn," I mumbled. Why was he pretending to be? Was it really that hard to tell them apart? Now that I could hear the difference in their voices, it was easy-"What did she say?" Alpha Hunter asked and I soon realised that it didn't matter how low I must've spoken, The Alphas had really sharp ears-"She said that's not Alpha Thorn," the guard responded, sounding a bit dazed.I guess I spoke too loud."Where is he then?" I held Alpha Hunter's daring gaze and I looked at the other one whose name I didn't know. They both stared at me with a suspicious look and I gulped at the intensity of it."He's over there" I glanced at the Alpha that stood next to the window who now stared at me strangely. "That's… That's Alpha Thorn you're looking for."
EPILOGUEAMELIA’S POVFEW MONTHS LATERI grabbed Hunter's hand tight as he led me down the stairs. I felt heavy and my feet were all swollen. I winced every now and then with a frown on my brows."I offered to carry you," he said, chuckling at my anger."I can do this," I was determined to walk on my own. Ever since my bump got bigger, I had felt nothing but heaviness. My stomach was so big that I feared it would burst. I was worried most times but Kelly would always calm me down when my mates just couldn't.I was certain they were fed up with my pregnant state. Well good because next time, they won't get me pregnant again!"What do you mean? We can have more babies-" Dylan started to say but I glared at him, lifting my head slowly as he paused in his words, scratched his temple and turned to Thorn."That's what I thought when I was younger," he quickly added and Thorn nodded, totally agreeing with him.Did I need to remind them that I carried not one but three pups inside of me? How
EMY’S POvSandwiched between my mates, it was impossible to escape without one of them grabbing me quickly and pinning me back on the bed. His eyes as he looked at me were filled with so much softness. I almost melted, especially when I noticed the bags under his eyes. I turned to the others and saw they suffered the same fate.Good. At least it was good to know that I didn't suffer alone."Where are you running off to, love?" His voice was equally soft and it went straight to my chest to try and melt the ice I had placed on my heart. The foundation threatened to shake but I clenched my fist and turned my face away but whichever direction I turned to, another face was there. One by my left, another by my right and the third pinning me under him- goodness! Why did it feel so Impossible to get away from them? They were everywhere I turned to.I closed my eyes then, only for my head to fill with images of them."Look at me," he demanded with a gentle but firm voice. He sounded so hurt. T
Amelia’s POVTWO WEEKS LATERThe oven dinged and I wore my gloves. The sweet scent of cherry pie filled the air and I took out the pan and placed it on the counter. I reached on my toes for my mother's favourite plate and I cut myself a piece.I munched down on it thrice and nodded my head, feeling satisfied at the result. I turned to her cook book and I closed it. Her recipe had finally paid off. It was worth the time and energy dedicated to it.I ate in silence just like all the other days since I moved into my home. The walls no longer felt alive and even the fragrance in the air no longer caught my fancy.Nothing interested me here. It was all glum and dark. I've had nothing but nightmares on my return here. My back hurt from folding myself on my old bed-- I could use a massage and a good Queen sized bed.I debated sleeping in her room but the minute I walked in, tears were the only things in my eye and I was walking out the next minute.I reached for my warm glass of milk and too
EMY’S POVI had always wanted to know who my parents were, what they were like if they loved me or not and if my life would be any different from the hell it had been all these years. I always thought of myself as a part of MoonShadow Pack and called it home but I received the shock of my life and entire existence. It wasn't just the fact that I had regained my memories and I was the Beta's daughter of the Silverfang Pack but it was seeing the hate in my mother's eyes as she lunged at me with intentions to kill. I was her prey and nothing more than that will I ever be.Was it really okay to die by her hands? I couldn't even move if I wanted to.Everything felt so slow in my eyes, even my fast beating heart had slowed down and I waited for my life to end.It was all so slow but suddenly, there was a black wolf running at full speed, dashing out of the woods with a scared look and before my eyes, it leaped in the air, hitting Nana with a force that sent her flying over.My heart stopped
EMY’S POV"Don't make this harder for yourself," Nana pulled me out of my thoughts and I realised she still kept her distance but by now there was nowhere to run. The cliff was behind me and it was either I jumped to my death or let her kill me."There is no escaping me," she said with a poker face, giving me the chills and I was forced to take a step back. When her eyes landed on my feet, I gulped, worried she might get funny ideas. The corner of lips cracked into a smile and she looked me in the face again. "You have two options." I already knew what they were. "Let's not waste each other's time.""You… lured me here," I gulped. "You deceived me, didn't you?""I'm not gonna do that with you," her face fell again. "I've gone through this so many times already. It feels like an endless loop," she rolled her eyes. "But that's the goddess's fault. Hw can three men have so many mates? Haha." her laugh held no humour."Nana," I whispered in shock and horror. "What did you do… to their mat
DYLAN’S POVAfter Emy cut off the mindlink, I had been uneasy and unable to focus on anything. Luckily for me, Jerry's men were not attacking… yet. They had only gathered in large numbers and moved too close to the borders and we upped our defence and alerted our warriors to prepare for any attack. We couldn’t take any chances.'I see Jerry but why isn't he doing anything?' Thorn, who was standing still beside me, asked through the mindlink.'I'd like to know that too,' Hunter said, just as confused as we were.I observed his warriors both in human and wolf form, they were armed, growling at our men every now and then. Commander Leon was certain they were trying to surround the Pack so we had him lead half of the warriors around while the other half stayed with us.Every now and then, Jerry would smirk at us, throw in a punchline or two to try and anger us, he would mention how we chased the eight Packs away for him and even mention kidnapping our mate-'Something… is off,' and I wasn
