Nora’s POV
My words caught up in my throat as I did not expect to come across him.
As I stared at him blankly, he cleared his throat, snapping me back to reality.
I nodded at him. “It is.”
This was not good. I couldn’t be seen with him.
I really have to give it to him, though. Ever since I met him near the locker room, he was resolute on going out with me. His repeated attempts annoyed me thoroughly. Although I ignored him on the campus in every way, he was like a disaster that couldn’t be avoided.
I started thinking of a way to get rid of him. But he didn’t look like he had any intention to leave soon.
Picking a random book from the shelf, he asked, flipping through the pages. “You love to read novels?”

The following week, Liam did not show up in the school. Nora sent him countless messages and emails, but he did not answer any of them. Even Jackson did not know about his whereabouts. Nora was concerned but somewhat frustrated at how he would disappear telling no one. That was until one day when the school held a meeting with the students for their upcoming term ends, did he show up. Entering the class, as usual, Nora’s first reaction was to see if he was present or not. After seeing the familiar figure, she was elated. Today, he was wearing a round-neck black sweater with a white shirt underneath whose collars rested on the top of the sweater. He looked devastatingly hot. After school, Nora was immediately pulled into the student union’s office by Liam. He planned on taking her out but then realized his father’s men were keeping a tab on him everywhere. The only place safe right now was his office. Nora also agreed with his arrangements. They were nearing completing the project, and she could ask him to help her in her studies. Their takeout was yet to be delivered, so Nora took the time to explain to Liam the errors in the reports. At that moment, the door to the office opened and Nancy strutted in, swaying her hips. “You’re such a workaholic! It’s already so late and you are still working.” She exclaimed as soon as she entered. Hearing the voice, Nora raised her head and stared at Nancy, wondering if the latter had nothing to do with her life. As long as she had free time, she would come looking for Liam.

Nora and Jessica walked inside the cafeteria and sat at their usual table where two girls, Tori and Bree, awaited their arrival. Tori had strawberry blonde hair and narrow eyes whereas Bree had black eyes and brunette hair. The two of them weren’t considered close to Nora and Jessica but nevertheless enjoyed each other’s company. The atmosphere there was, as usual, peaceful. Sofia, the timid blonde girl, had also fit well among their group. Usually, she would accompany Liam and others. The boys back there would always engage in a conversation that made her easily embarrassed and hence she thought it was a good time to broaden her contacts and now spent most of the time with Nora. Nora entered the office, and the scene that greeted her left her stunned. Behind the desk, a devastatingly hot Liam sat working on the computer. He wore a dark green shirt and black pants. The gold-rimmed glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, further adding to his charms. Nora admitted, Men looked sexier when they worked. Sensing her entrance, Liam paused his meeting and raised his head. “Wait for a while. I’ll be done soon.” His deep voice resounded, and he went back to his work.
