I breathed deeply, enjoying the sweet scent of Rowan surrounding me. We were snuggled up on the bed, both turned to the side, my back glued to his chest, my head on his arm as his free hand drew circles on my bare thigh, sending shivers down my whole body.

" Is it better?" he said in a hoarse voice.

"I should ask you," I said with a sigh as I crossed the fingers of the hand belonging to the arm under my head to mine.

" Why?" he frowned.

"I feel your heart beating furiously every moment, I feel you hold your breath and grit your teeth," I admitted.

In the last hour, Rowan was suffering, I could feel it. I could feel his pain as if they were ripping his heart out of his chest, and I didn't like to hear him, I didn't want to feel his suffering, I didn't want him to suffer.
