LOGINTrojan’s POV
Her head drops to my chest as she falls asleep from all that running and what we just did. I scoop her up in my arms and get out of the shower, drying her off before taking her to bed. The twins are still asleep in the bassinet before I head out to deal with some pack business. Miles already has the vampire that survived strapped up in chains in the cellar. His wrists are chained above his head, forcing his arms up while his ankles are secured to chains bolted into the floor. His legs are spread far enough apart that there is no way in hell he can lift either foot, let alone get enough leverage to shift himself. Blood is running down one side of his face, but he looks more irritated than afraid. Miles is standing a few feet away with Maurice and Andre, both enforcers. “Where's the woman?” I ask, wanting her more than this one because I heard her calling Billie the mother. I need to know what the fuck she meant. “Gone,” Miles answers. “She got through the eastern side of the woods before we could close the perimeter.” My jaw tightens. I should've pursued her myself. Instead, I was in the shower with Billie while one of the vampires that came into my territory escaped. He’s watching me with cold, red eyes. “You're lucky you survived,” I tell him. His lips twitch. “Am I?” I walk closer. “You tell me why you were in my territory, and maybe you get to leave this cellar alive.” He laughs under his breath. “You dogs always think you can threaten your way into getting answers.” “I don't need to threaten you.” I stop directly in front of him and look up at the chains holding his wrists. “You're already chained to my floor.” His eyes flick toward his feet before returning to mine. “Who are you?” I ask. “And why are you here?” “Fuck you.” The vampire spits out blood. “And your pack.” I stare at him for a few seconds, trying to decide whether he's stupid or simply confident enough to believe he can get out of here. “That's your answer?” I tilt my head with a frown. He spits again. “That's all you deserve.” Miles moves closer, but I lift a hand to stop him. I don't need him tearing the vampire apart yet. I need answers, and judging by the way this one keeps looking at me, he's more interested in provoking me than he is in staying alive. “You came into my territory,” I say. “You were waiting in my woods, and one of your people recognized my woman. So I'm going to ask you again. Why were you here?” The vampire's expression changes for half a second when I mention Billie, but he recovers quickly. “My woman?” he repeats, almost amused. I don't like the way he says it. “What?” His cold eyes narrow. “You really don't know.” I step closer. “Know what?” He looks past me at Miles and the two enforcers before bringing his eyes back to mine. “You should ask yourself why she doesn't smell like anything.” I blink once and lick my lower lip. “It’s not unheard of for a wolf not to have scent.” His lip lifts up as though he’s trying not to laugh. “Naturally?” He has a point. Wolves that don’t have a scent usually mask it for some absurd reason. Billie’s case is natural. She was never born with one. It always worried her father because it meant we wouldn’t be able to locate her if something ever happened to her. I sigh, watching the bloodsucker. “What does that have to do with you?” He chuckles and shakes his head. “I don’t have to tell you shit. All I can say is brace yourself.” I nod, twisting my mouth in a what-a-shame gesture. Then I glance at Maurice. “Bring me a cup and a knife.” “Yes, alpha.” He nods before walking off. Maurice returns a few minutes later with a metal cup and a knife. The vampire’s eyes drop to the cup, then snap back to me. He looks genuinely scared. “Wait,” he says. I glance at him. “What happened to all that confidence?” His breathing gets heavier as Maurice approaches him. “You don't want to do this.” “Trust me when I say I do,” I mutter. He starts to panic. “You know what werewolf blood does to vampires.” I take the knife from Maurice and turn it over in my hand. “That's why we're doing it.” He pulls against the chains, but there’s nowhere for him to go. His limbs remain locked in place. The fear in his eyes grows when he realizes that none of his struggling is going to help him. Maurice holds out the cup, and I take it before dragging the blade across my palm. Blood immediately wells up, but I let it drip into the cup until there is enough. The vampire stares at it. “No,” he says quietly. I look at him. “Are you going to talk?” “‘Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!’ he yells.” I shake my head and hand the cup back to Maurice. “Didn’t think so.” I turn around and head out. It only takes a second for his agonised screams to follow me out. He’ll probably be dead by sundown, and I still won’t have answers. I walk into my house and instantly wonder why Marlon is here. I can smell him and Marcus and food, all the way from the front door. Marcus knows I don’t like that boy being here. I prefer them confined to the pack house, not in my home, where my woman is, with my kids. Their voices carry to me as I walk toward the kitchen. “At this rate, you won’t lose that extra junk,” Marcus mutters as I enter. “Your dad likes my junk,” Billie shoots back, with butter and cheese in her hands. Her eyes meet mine and her jaw drops. So does the butter.I stare at him, trying to figure out what his angle is. It’s strange that Marcus didn’t even follow him when he followed me. This could just be another dumb prank, but I don’t remember him telling Marcus or anyone that I was his fated mate. He wanted to keep it under wraps so his pack and ours wouldn’t mock him, along with basically everyone else at the academy.“I don’t remember doing any rejecting,” I mutter and start walking faster toward administration.I need to find out what my classes are and my schedule, not deal with this shit. At least he doesn’t follow me.I get my schedule and find out that I changed my course from Business Administration to Pack History and Governance.I blink at the paper a couple of times. “What the fuck?”The woman behind the desk looks up at me. “Is there a problem?”I look down at my schedule again, hoping the words will somehow change if I stare at them long enough. “I changed my course?”“Yes.” She glances at her computer. “You requested the
He slips his hands back under my ass and lifts off the counter, keeping my legs wrapped around his torso as he walks us upstairs to our bedroom. He puts me on the bed and his mouth is on my nipple, sucking and nibbling.I chuckle under my breath as I think that there’s no way he isn’t getting the milk in his mouth whenever he licks on me like that. He doesn’t seem to care. His leaves my tit and his mouth meets mine in a soft, wet kiss that makes me gasp.He breaks his lips from mine and looks at me, still intense and hungry. “I’ll never get enough of you.”Something moves from my stomach up my chest and squeezes. “I like the sound of that.”I do, but his words still ring that this is just an arrangement. One that’ll come to an abrupt end when his mate comes along. And I hope I’ll be alright when that happens. Everything will be back to normal and the whole memories thing will be solved.“You suddenly seem distracted,” he whispers, his eyes sweeping over my face. I smile and sha
“Trojan!” I whisper, my back arching as he continues stroking my clit in hurried circles. We’re in the kitchen, and only the under-cabinet lights are on. The nurse left maybe ten minutes ago after putting the twins to sleep in the nursery.Trojan has my ass on the counter with my shorts and panties hanging on one ankle, and his hand between my legs like he’s been waiting for me all evening. I wasn’t even gone four hours. His other hand is holding my thigh in place, making sure I remain spread out while his fingers work me and apply pressure at the same time. I’m so embarrassingly wet that I can feel it dripping between my ass cheeks.Every time he presses a little harder I have to bite my lip to keep from making noise.“You’re so easy for me,” he murmurs, sounding very pleased with himself.I try to glare at him but my head falls back against the counter when his thumb swipes over my clit again and my whole body jumps. He chuckles quietly and slides tw
My mouth falls open and I blink while she just pours tea like it’s the most normal thing in the world. She knows that I can’t remember the past year, but does she know why?“What’s going on, Messiah?” I ask, putting my face in my hands. “I was beginning to think that maybe I’ve lost my mind.”She laughs and hands me a cup of tea. “I don’t know for sure what happened to you, but I do know that you might be twenty physically, but you’re still that nineteen-year-old girlat heart who used to let people walk all over you.”“How?” I shake my head, putting the tea on the table. “Did I lose my memories of the last year?”“Not exactly,” she says slowly, as if trying to figure out how to tell me something bigger. “I hate riddles,” I mutter with a frown.“Okay.” She shifts in her chair. “I believe that you…” She points at me. “Haven’t lived the past year. I think that nineteen-year-old you, this you, travelled into this future and into twenty-year-old you’s body, after a traumatic experie
“What’s wrong?” Trojan asks with a strange look, but he doesn’t approach me. I’m backed up against the cabinet like a lunatic, breathing hard and sweating like I was just in a fire. I can’t even feel the stove from here, and the aircon is turned on.“I’m fine.” My voice is trembling.Trojan runs a hand through his hair. “You’re sweating at 10 degrees.”“I was just startled, that’s all,” I whisper, moving from the cabinet. What the fuck was that? Was this fire real or not? That flashback felt too real to be fake, or a dream, or fucking stress-induced. Moon Goddess, what’s happening to me? What happened to me? And that creepy lady said that no one would remember, not even me.But why do I remember?Trojan shoves a glass of water in my direction. “Calm down. You’re also shaking like a leaf.”I take it and gulp it down in a single go. I put the glass on the counter and use the back of my hand to wipe my forehead.“Should I call Terry to check you out?” Trojan asks, leaning agai
Billie’s POVI stare at the bread spread painting the floor for a second before slowly looking back at Trojan. He’s standing in the doorway, his eyes fixed on me, and I can feel the heat crawling up my neck. Of all the things he could've walked in on, it had to be that.Marlon is still sitting at the kitchen bar, trying very hard not to laugh, while Marcus looks like he wants to murder me. I don't know which part is worse. The fact that Trojan heard me say he likes my junk or the fact that I actually said it out loud.Trojan's eyes move from me to Marcus, then to Marlon. His jaw tightens as he folds his arms. “Why are you two here?”Marcus immediately straightens. “I was making lunch.”“I can see that,” Trojan says, his voice flat. “I’m just not sure why you’re doing it here. You can finish it at the pack house.”Marcus glances at Marlon before looking back at him. “Dad—”“The pack house, Marcus.” Trojan’s voice remains calm. “And later we’re gonna have words.”Marcus's mouth c
