Chapter Five

Her skin came alive under his touch, exploring every inch of her body while he kissed her neck, making waves pool beneath her stomach. She writhed underneath him, paving the way for his torturous pleasure.

His lips left her neck and moved slowly downward, leaving kisses in their wake, making her go mad with anticipation. He took one tweaked nipple in his mouth, tasting then sucking on the budded flesh.

His fingers trailed the center of her moist womanhood, making her cry out. A finger stretched her open, then two until she felt she couldn't take it anymore.

"Are you ready for me?" He asked out of breath. She nodded, pulling him in.

Anna woke up with a start, feeling hot all over. It'd been months since she'd had such a vivid dream. Rubbing her eyes, she glanced around at the room, getting confused. The room was unfamiliar.

Her fingers trembled and she felt her legs give way even on the very plush bed she was on. This wasn't right. Where was she? Where were her children? What had happened?

She quickly sat up on the bed, on high alert as she pondered what to do next. Her head throbbed so much it felt like it would explode. The last thing she remembered was being in a house…making a delivery…Asher.

She stared down at her clothes immediately and heaved a sigh of relief when she noticed they were still the ones she'd been wearing. Ok, so nothing had happened, she thought. Not like she had thought anything would happen, but still.

While she sat recollecting her thoughts, the door swung open. A man formally dressed in what resembled a butler's uniform entered the room with a tray containing the most exquisite of fruits and snacks.

"The master instructed you had this before leaving." The man said, dropped the tray, and left.

She didn't bother to ask him any questions. Skimming through her phone, she discovered it was six in the morning. Her grandmother and children would be worried sick. She quickly ate the breakfast as she was starving and snuck out of the house, hoping not to see Asher anywhere.

When she got home, the door was unlocked and her grandma was making breakfast.

"I am so sorry Gran. I know I worried you and the boys. I went over to Gabby's and I didn't know when I slept off…" she began frantically and hoped her grandma couldn't tell she was lying about being at her best friend's.

"Oh, shush your mouth." Gran said, chuckling and waving her hand. "You didn't go over to Gabby's. You were out with some nice man who told me you were safe asleep with him. He sounded so refined.. I'm so happy for you, Annie!"

"What?" Anne asked, rubbing her eyes. What the hell? Hopefully, her grandma didn't know who exactly the 'nice man' was. "I wasn't…ok. I went to make a delivery and accidentally slept off. I've been so stressed lately."

She knew it was useless lying to her granny, who had the perception of a detective and besides she knew she was a terrible liar at best.

"Delivery alright." Gran said, humming to herself. "I'm just glad you've met a nice man even if you won't admit it to me. He sounded so cool and polished on the phone, unlike that uncouth Trevor you're so hell-bent on bringing around."

"Granny!" She wasn't surprised. Everyone around her hated her boyfriend Trevor for sole reason he'd cheated once before. It had been a mistake and he'd apologized. But no one else wanted to let it go.

"You know it's true. Anyway, I hope you don't plan on inviting him over tonight. It's their birthday and I don't…"

"It's today?" Anne mused. She'd forgotten the birthday of her children. "Oh my God. I'm going over to bake them a cake."

Granny stared at her and shook her head.

When Anne got to the bakery, she was surprised to see Jake already there. He'd apparently never stopped coming in. The bakery was spotless all thanks to him. Unfortunately there were no customers as usual, but seeing him improved her mood a lot.

While mixing up the batter for the twins' birthday cake, they heard a chime at the door. Anne looked up expectantly, wondering if it was a customer and lit up when she saw Gabby and Lola, her best friends.

"Hi! It's been a while." She said, reaching out to hug them. "I just lied with your name to my grandma and you show up here, this is fate.."

"Yeah I know. She gave me the details this morning. About the twins' birthday and this new mystery guy."

"Damn girl, tell us everything!" Lola said, playfully elbowing her.

Anne groaned. So typical of her grandma to put her business out there, she thought.

"There's no one else except Trevor. She called and some client picked up my phone." She said, going back to prepare buttercream.

"You mean the same Trevor who's constantly cheating and yet you keep taking him back? The one who doesn't even know your kids exist?" Gabby asked, following Anne. Lola who was tired of their conversation stayed with Jake.

"Jeez. Won't you all just let this go? It happened once and I've decided to forgive him." She was exasperated. "And he doesn't know my kids exist because I haven't had the time to introduce them."

Gabby stared at her a long moment, absorbing everything she'd said.

"Correction, you only caught him once. Who knows how many other times it could have happened. And you don't want to introduce them because you know he hates kids. What's your plan Anne? If you have any plans of forever with this guy, you have to let him know that side of you. Why would you be ashamed of those little angels."

"I'm not!" She said, stamping her feet. "It's just not the right time. And this isn't either. You're stressing me out."

The familiar chime at the door came again and chilled the air when Trevor walked in.

Anne went out to meet him.

"Hi babe." Gabby rolled her eyes.

"Hi sweetie." He said, kissing her on the cheek. "I see you have an order. How about I help you deliver and you spend the night with me. It's been so long."

Anne didn't know what to say. She had to stay to celebrate her kids but this was not the best time to tell him about them.

"I…I can't make it." She muttered, her eyes on the floor. "There's something…"

"Or someone? You've been avoiding me this past week and coming up with lies. If you don't want this stupid relationship then let me know and stop tossing me around. I'm not a damn child."

"I haven't been lying. I've been so busy this past week. Try to understand, Trevor."

"You say no one makes orders anymore, yet you're here with the whole gang making this big ass cake. I'm tired of being made a fool of. Don't blame me for anything I do to get some release." He said and walked out.

Gabby coughed.

"Did anyone just see a red flag or was it just me?"

"This isn't funny." Anne said, walking back to her station.

"Um. Anne, you're gonna wanna see this. " Lola said, flashing her phone at Anne.

"Let me read the headline. Lady seen sneaking out of CEO Asher Ingram's mansion..."

Anne took the phone and felt all the blood leave her face. There on the screen was a clear picture of her from that morning, doing exactly what the news article said she had been doing.
