Chapter 2

"WULAN!"

The person who pinned me down was been distracted therefore I grab the chance to kick his stomach and was about to hit him at the face when someone stopped my fist mid-air.

"Gahala please stop." Gani beg and I throw him a dark look.

"He's a wolf." I said matter of fact.

"Yes he is. But he is not the way you think he is." He defended the man and even step infront of him.

"He is still a wolf and you know he is an enemy." I glance at the man who still lying on the ground because I put some leaves on his feet and hands in order for him not to move.

"He is not an enemy Gahala."

"Then you are the enemy then." I gave Gani a sharp look and I know when I am certainly serious, no one can take looking at my eyes. Nihung once said that my eyes are too powerful when I am angry.

"I am not Gahala, please listen to me." He pleased but my mind was clouded with question plus the man behind him was transforming himself into a wolf again.

"There, he isn't an enemy and then what is he?"

"He's a fairy."

I stilled for a moment but minutes past I burst into laughters.

"Seriously Gani? Are you making fun of me?" I asked but smiling a little.

Gani signed and helped that wolf to stand up.

I immediately prepared myself and made some waters to standby behind me incase this wolf will do something to me.

"I am Wulan levin came from the family of werewolfs." he said and slightly bowed his head.

I didn't uttered a word and just look at him. I glance at Gani and he spoke.

"There are things I can't tell you now Gahala but I assure you that he is not an enemy."

"The next time I see you in our territory, I will not hesitate to kill you!" I said and look directly in his eyes.

There was something in his eyes that I cannot figure out what is it. I can feel the emotion just by looking at him and deep in my heart I can feel that Gani was saying the truth

He is not an enemy.

"My mother was a fairy." He said that made me stop when I was about to walk away.

"It doesn't change the fact that you are still a wolf." I keep my face straight trying hard not for him to notice the shock I was feeling.

"I guess coming here was a bad decision. Everyone will still judge me Gani." He uttered and turned to Gani.

"It wasn't my fault that I am just a product of a wrong love. My father was a wolf and my mother was a fairy."

"Why are you telling me this?" I spatted.

"Because the moment I saw you, I know I could trust you." He stared me like he was also seeing my soul.

"Do not trust me. I may be the one who will kill you." I said and started to walk away.

I should not meet him. I should not believe in him but my heart tells me that he was telling the truth.

I mentally shake my head and enter Enlaja.

"Were have you been?!"

Katana's voice enterrupted my thoughts.

"Somewhere away from you." I teased copying what she had said to me a while ago.

"Crazy."

"Katana, Gahala you were being called by Nihung." Aladon said as he appear in front of us.

"Why?" Katana's voice was firm that even Aladon cannot directly look at her eyes.

"I don't know, but she said I should call the both of you." He said and I just nod at him.

Katana started walking to Nihung's house and I followed her.

"Korodi Nihung." we said in unison as we faced Nihung who are currently on her chair with eyes closed.

"Dusama rita Katana, Gahala."

I stepped back a little in surprised when Nihung opened her eyes and directly look into us specifically towards my direction.

I gulp and compose myself when Katana glance at me and roll her eyes.

I'm a bit nervous because my instincts was pointing something not good and I don't like it.

"Relax Gahala."  Came from a sweet little voice.

I turned to where it came from and found Humming at the nearest window.

Humming was a very cute little bird with yellow feathers. She always follows me around whenever I am outside to guard Enlaja.

"Give us some privacy humming." Nihung suddenly spoke.

I smiled at humming before he flew away.

"Why did you called us Nihung?" Katana said with confidence. Among us, she was the one who's always direct to the point to avoid wasting time.

"I called you to personally express my gratitude for maintening the peace in Enlaja." Nihung said then glance at me.

For that moment, I feel guilt deep inside. I remember my encounter to a wolf earlier and there was something in me that tells I did the right choice to let that wolf go away but I felt like I betrayed Enlaja.

"I promise to maintain Enlaja guarded and well secured Nihung." Katana said with firm and conviction voice.

Nihung only nod then look at me.

I just gulp before I uttered those words that somehow I feel like it was myself I am convincing.

"I will protect Enlaja whatever it takes."

Nihung smiled a little before closing her eyes.

Katana and I looked each other and go out from Nihung's house.

"What was that?"

As we got out, Katana immediately asked with creased forehead.

I simply shrugged my shoulders and was about to continue to walk when I saw Gani.

We look each for a minute and he just passed us.

I still watched him even he was far from where we are standing and bundle of thoughts crushed in my mind but only two questions bothered me.

Why did you do it Gani?

And

Why did I do it?
