Chapter 5: The Werewolf
"I was out for some air, what are you doing up there, get down." He was not young enough for tree climbing, if he'd ever fall he'd break all his bones. "I am not weak as you think," he murmured but I could see his hands shaking while climbing down the tree. "To the north, I saw one heading north." He whispered and I nodded, He'd been suspecting that there were residing there, we've been trying to find it over years. I was walking fast when he suddenly stopped, the turned to me and his eyes went to my hands. His eyes were on my gloves, I restrained myself not to shake or move and act as if, I was confused and innocent. "You wear gloves," he concluded. His suspicious look burned my neck. "I thought it was cool," what a lame excuse. When did I start losing my common sense? "Let's go, we're wasting time," I said in an attempt of saving mess. He did head-on and led the way. I was only following his step. Then we got into someplace, it was way darker than normal forest dark at night. "Had we gone over that mountain?" He asked me, it was he who told me that beyond the wire was privately owned by a businessman. "I don't know," I answered. And he tilted his head towards it. He covered his face so I did too. I followed him easily jump over the wire, his bones were quite well today. He was walking like a cat and I couldn't almost hear his steps. Until we hear some howling, after a few walks from the wire we already got some trace of the residing track. He eagerly headed toward the direction where we heard it. Should I do this? If we'd ever see werewolves here, should I kill them? I am one of them, but Tasio would get disappointed with me, I knew no one of these werewolves and Tasio here was my family. I would not bring him down. Until we saw it, there were numbers of wolves gathering around a platform, where two wolves were standing. It was him, my Mate, standing on the platform with another wolf. It took me a few minutes to realize what was going on. It was too late for me to stop him cause I heard a harsh slit of the air and saw the arrow aiming at Dion. No. I felt like a bucket of ice splashed on my spine looking at the arrow with wide eyes, while my chest tighten making me hard to breathe. But the other wolf jumps to catch the arrow. Everything went so fast after that, I only found myself running while a loud and angry howl filled my ears which reached my heart sending fright to every nerve of my body. I glanced behind and saw several wolves angrily running after us. I could run faster but Tasio couldn't. "Faster!" I yell but I knew he was running out of breath. 'What should I do?' I came back to him so I could pull him to run faster but he stopped and positioned his bow. "I am old anyway, this is what I have been waiting for." He started shooting them down while his lips were stretched into an evil smile. His eyesight was still sharp, every release was head shoot. I left with no choice but to start shooting too. I felt like was stabbed too while seeing them hit by my arrow, I have to protect myself. Every arrow someone would drop dead, my sight had gone better. My hunter reflexes were not letting me down. From my side vision, I could see him smashing a werewolf using his cane. He's a wise man indeed it was laced with silver too. I got my knife and slit every neck of the wolves that attempted to bite my face. While the old man from my side has his hunter reflexes still. But we're running of arrows. "You're doing great but you better run now." He whispered once we stood back to back. I pulled my last arrow, Tasio got one last too. Everyone stopped when we all heard a loud growl. That familiar growl, I knew it was him. They turned to where it was but I couldn't bring myself of turning my head to him. My mate. "HAHAHAHAHA! I found you, Eric, how's my wife?" I turned to Tasio, he was eyeing the wolf next to him. He was snarling furiously while Tasio's arrow was aiming at him. He seemed to forget that we were in the middle of a pack of werewolves. I turned to him, he was watching me. I saw him smell the air and I knew he could smell me. We should submit but Tasio shoots the werewolf named Eric and everyone came to attack him. My instinct told me to growl loud and my hand fell to the ground when I saw blood coming from Tasio's knee. I bit the one who attacked him and scratched them. I tasted the metallic liquid in my mouth and I kept attacking everyone. He was already lying on the ground and I bit his shirt and ran fast as I could. The image of the tree was blurry as I passed them, I couldn't even estimate my speed, all I know was that I need to escape. Until I heard nothing and I put him down. After dropping him, he immediately crawled away from me, his wide eyes reflected how surprised he was. I transformed back into my human form and he looked up to me. "Olive," he unbelievably whispered. His blood was continuously bleeding. I came to near but he crawled away from me. His face turned into anger which made me heartbroken. "I don't know too," but he was eyeing me like I am not the Olive he raised. "Believe me, I just found out too. Yesterday, I was feeling tired but when the moon was out, I gained my strength back. I was planning to tell you." He held his bow and cane with his tightest grip. He seemed like didn't recognize me anymore, he saw me as a werewolf which was his enemy. That look in his eyes crashed me, my only family hated me already. I wished to hold his hands and beg but he was more furious now. "I was living with a snake all along. Oh! my bad, a WEREWOLF."Chapter 6: The Lost WolfHe gravely spoke those words while eyeing me like I betrayed him. I shook my head, it wasn't true. I didn't mean to, I didn't even know I was...I am a werewolf. "No no no, I am not your enemy here, I am the Olive that you raised, I can forget being a werewolf and be a hunter still. I can protect you." I didn't know what I am saying, I was too desperate to ease his anger. I couldn't lose him. His anger was scaring me, I didn't want him to be mad at me."A werewolf is a werewolf, end of the story." And he drew his last arrow, it was aiming at me. All I did was to look at him in his eyes, hoping that he might change his mind. I raise both of my hands as a sign of surrender. His arrow has no match how much pain it cost me while looking at his eyes full of determination to kill me."Fight!" he shouted at me."You are my father, I can not harm you.""I. DO. NOT. HAVE. A. CHILD. ESPECIALLY. A. WEREWOLF!" The emphasis broke my heart, even more, I lost it,
Chapter 7: RejectionI am here, standing at exactly where I stood the first time and the last time we met. And hoping to meet him again. On the edge of this cliff and the beauty in front of it. The green forest and the blue sky met in the middle. Birds were passing by and clouds were calmly moving unnoticeable. A scorching day has ended, and the sky started turning orange. A sign that night was approaching. I couldn't wait anymore but at the same time was nervous. I was afraid of what would be his reaction to seeing me. I know that he would be mad but would he forgive me? I could not sit still knowing that he might kill me but he is my mate. He might give me chance to prove my loyalty. I hope he would still accept me.I immediately stood when I heard some calm footsteps. I waited for him to show up and he did in his wolf form. He was so gorgeous but then he angrily ran to me and jump. As his paw hit my shoulder I fell and my head was an inch from the edge. He was about to bite
Chapter 8: Lovely Flowers I was watering my flower in my garden, I felt good seeing them grow and bloom. This at least eases the grief in my heart. I didn't know how I survived it, I just woke up, feeling pain in every inch of my body. I was in my wolf form, it was my weakest point but I managed to sit up and licked at my wounds. After a few days, my bones had gone better, no food and water. I only stayed there down the cliff. After gaining my strength back, I started hunting for food and never transformed into my human form. I eat the way wolves eat and live as a wolf for a few days. My heart was full of grief and I hard move or survive a day. But one morning, I decided to shift into my human form and create a home. Away from his pack and Tasio's house. I never dare to enter their territory and stayed in my safe zone. I smelled the fresh scent of flowers around me. Since that day when I found out that I am a werewolf, my sense of smell has heightened so has my sense of hear
Chapter 9: Who's a witch?"What are you talking about?" I asked her but she instead snatched my wrist and looked at my birthmark. "Zillia," she whispered and I snatched my wrist away from her. But the sun had gone down, I started running away from the city. I needed to find a spot where I could safely howl before the time of howling which was in the middle of the night. "Wait!" she was running after me so I ran faster and when I looked back I couldn't see her anymore so I shifted into my wolf. I could feel her glee as her paw hit the ground. Until I saw a perfect spot where I could have the perfect view of the full moon. I knew it was safe in the place, I had made sure to avoid the territories of packs around. Time flies real fast, but the feeling and the memory were still clear in me. The full moon ruined my peace and took everything for me. On my first ever shift and learned that I have a wolf in me and the next day I lost everything I have. "Awooooo!" It was not onl
Chapter 10: A Night With Grief "That I couldn't answer," she said. But the pain in her eyes couldn't keep me calm."I was young and wild back then and traveled alone while my older sister your mother wants to live in peace. All she did was take care of her flowers and repeat her routine every day. I found it boring so I decided to leave her." She kept combing my hair while reminiscing those moments."This is her house. I missed her so I went home and found this house empty.""She's lost? She's probably with my father he a werewolf, you said it is forbidden to have a relationship with werewolves, they are maybe hiding." I exclaimed and I little hope to build into my heart. I badly want to meet them."I don't think so." And my tiny hope crashed."Why?""Why would you be alone now if they are just hiding? Why would you grow up with a hunter if nothing happened? I don't want to imply a thing and hurt you but I must not give you false hope.""What do you mean?""I foun
Chapter 11: Meeting Him Again"I know, don't mention it," and she flashed a fake smile. But eventually, we broke into laughter and even had a high five. "I feel so fake, yuck," then she acted vomiting which made me laugh harder. "Are you alright?" she asked and my laughter instantly subsided. "I hope," I couldn't hide my pain instead of flashing a fake smile I looked down. She walked toward me and wrapped her arms around my body. "You have me now, all those wounds will heal." She whispered and kiss me on my cheek. "You are so beautiful," and she pinches my face. "Thank you," I didn't think it was comforting but I think she mean it."Now get ready cause we'll be performing the ritual, we need to cut the connection between you and your mate and also waken your craft." It tightened my heart, I didn't know what should I do. He already chose to be with another she-wolf, why do I feel like I am betraying him. "Okay," I answered and went to my room. I sat on my chair acros
Chapter 12: The Witches "I just want to die," I emphasized."No one will die!" she stepped back when she shouted. "Look at me, look straight." She held my face and made me look at her."We are witches, and our family was not just witches. We are royally blooded of the witches ministry before your grandparents died, we the rule the ministry of witches, and backing down was never in our vocabulary. There is no reason to seek death.""Where are my parents?" but she couldn't answer. "Dead," and I saw her blink and turned into teary."Where is my mate?" she only took a huge gulp and put my loose strands of hair at the back of my ears. "Mated to another she-wolf and worse...he wants me to die.""How about me? Am I not a family to you or important to you?" she held both of my palms and seek hesitation in my eyes."What I am?" she blinked and a tear fell in her eyes but I was already filled with numbness. "A half-witch and a half-wolf. Where do I belong? To none. Why I am here
Chapter 13: Another Loss Then my sight was filled with red light, blinding bright red which made me cover my eyes. "Aunt Zinny?" I called out, every light turned off and the place was filled with darkness, which made my fear climb up and suffocated my throat. I felt like I was alone. I went to open my room and saw nothing at her main door. It was well closed and it was dark outside. I open the window and saw no fire, no one was there."Where are they? What just happened?" I hurriedly walked around and search the whole place. "Aunt Zinny!" I called her again and my voice echoed in the whole place. I hugged myself while holding my tears back. "What the hell!""Where are you!" I made it sound angry but I am truly scared. I had searched every part of her kitchen, library, room, and living here, and even checked the room where I was. I couldn/t find it here which frustrated me."Where am I?" "Meow," I froze when I heard that. I slowly turned my head to it. A maroon
