Mate

Chapter 4: Mate

He went to me, so I stepped back. I continued walking until I bumped into the tree. It smelled every part of my body and even licked my face. It was weird but it started wagging its tail. While I realized that the smell a while ago came from this wolf. Using its paw it scratched my face like it was initiating play.

I wasn't feeling comfortable with it. My heartbeat wasn't helping to make me calm down. It was beating clumsily, so I stepped to the left to escape from the wolf. It did a sad sound and then it sat down. I took another step away and it drop its head to the ground looking up at me.

I still took another step, the time when I felt like there was a weird string pulling me towards it. I turned around to run but I was suddenly stricken by a lightning-like shot.

Mate,

'Mate,' a man's voice resounded inside my head. He stood up and walked toward me. He snuggle in my neck and even licked my face again. Was he a werewolf too? I thought he was only a wolf. It was totally weird when I started wagging my tail too.

He suddenly ran but eventually stopped, his head turned to me when he noticed I was not following him. He made cute eyes and a gentle sound which made him look adorable. I took some slow steps toward him and I saw his ears twitched in delight.

He started running again and I was following him. The ran was mild until it went faster. His swift move was hard for me to cope with. But I did my best to follow in his footsteps. Until I lost him, I continued walking and followed his scent.

I saw him standing on the edge of a cliff, in a human form. He only had pants on, giving me the full view of his masculine broad shoulder.

"Come closer," I heard him speak, damn his voice. His harmonious low and deep voice made my spine freeze. My hesitancy hadn't stopped me from walking closer. I stand next to him in my wolf form. I know he was checking every inch of my fur. "You're beautiful, but why do you have to have white fur." His whispers were tickling my ears but what did he mean?

I felt him touch my head and started caressing it. I unconsciously closed my eyes and let out a low contented growl. "A rouge," he said but he sounded disappointed. I looked up to him and snuggle on his leg. Why did he sound disappointed?

Then I saw his reddish lips stretched into a smile and he sat down. His trimmed mustache was absolutely attractive, his sharp jaw looked masculine to me. While his pointed nose is very well complimented by his intense black eyes. When his eyes were on me, I felt like he could see my soul. And his wavy hair touched his shoulder. A beautiful creature I have ever seen in my life.

I sat on his lap and he wrapped his arms around me as we watched the full moon above. The place had the perfect view of it.

"Look at the moon goddess, she bonded us." And I could feel his breath on my fur. I looked at the moon, her perfect sphere shape, and her glow.

"Let me know your name," he demanded.

'Olive,' I only spoke in my head. I thought he could read my head.

"Olive why do you have white fur and blue eyes?" His voice was laced with hate. I could feel his emotion.

'I don't know,' my emotions went down hearing his disappointment. Didn't he like my fur? Did it look bad? 'Why? What's the matter?' I asked him and turned to him. I only saw him shake his head and disregarded the conversation.

"Call me, Dion." He instead said. I knew something was wrong yet he refused to tell me. He held my paw and massage it, while his face rested on my face too. "I have been searching for you," his weak voice made my heart sad. "Don't be sad. Everything is fine. We are summoned to get back in our pack. I will be needing to go." And that supposed to make me feel good? My mood went lower than it did before he said that.

I stood up and walk away from him. I was still in my wolf form. He faced me so I sat down.

"Meet me here tomorrow night," he said which made my heart jump in glee. I eagerly wagged my tail as I watched him stand and transformed into wolf form. 'Will I see your face tomorrow?'

'Of course,' I instantly answered. Then he hurriedly ran into the woods, I was a bit disappointed that he left that quick. While walking back home I couldn't forget his eyes, it was dark black then they turned to gold when he was in his wolf form, it was just magnificent.

But then I saw Tasio, he was out with a bow and a bundle of arrows on his back, he wore his cape made with wolf fur, and I heard its necklace made of wolf teeth banging to each there. I forgot that he would usually out hunting from midnight until morning. I carefully stepped away and hid. His sense was more incredible sharp than mine for hunting over decades. He was the one who taught me how to kill any different animal in the forest.

My fright rose when he stopped for a second and turn in my direction, I didn't move even an inch cause at that distance he can easily sense movement, he stayed looking in my direction for a few seconds before deciding to head-on. I waited for him to walk father before I let my breath go. Tasio was a great hunter, I have watched him fight growing up.

Hunters from the city couldn't beat him, cause he even hunt hunters he hate. I saw him play well when it comes to hunting, no one could ever go out from his territory once they get in, until he has gotten age. I could feel his frustration now and then since his knees started aching and protesting. I immediately head back to the cabin, he didn't usually hunt without me, for I am so sure that he knocked on my door or even broke in. He'd be mad at me knowing that I went out without him.

I jumped back into my room through my window and found my door open, a sign that Tasio knew I was out. I could already feel the dawn cool breeze of the wind. Several hours away for the morning. I transformed into my human form and got my cape. I grabbed my bow and-

"Aww!" I dropped the bow and saw my hand burned hand. The silver burned my hand. The whole bow was laced with silver? I didn't realize this before, it was black so I thought only the two ends of it had silver laced. I went to my drawer and got my gloves, I hope this would work, this should. I held my bow again and gladly It didn't burn my hand.

Thank goodness!

I grabbed my arrows two and ran to where he was headed. I seemed slower, or I was used to running at werewolf speed so it seemed slow.

"Where were you?" I almost stumbled when I heard him ask, I turned to search where he was, and I saw him up on the tree.
