Chapter 3: Werewolves
WHITE FURR, PAW. My eyes immediately widen and jump off. I stood but eventually I fell back. My hands, it was not a hand anymore. 'Bloody Mary!' I had gone panicked more when I couldn't speak, I could only do it inside my head. I turned to my body, I had a tail, white thick fur. 'This can't be happening!' I started running, I head to the nearest lake where I had gone before. I looked at myself, my eyes were blue and I have a dog's face. I turned my head to the left when I heard footsteps, I hurriedly swam into the lake and hide. Wolves had a great sense of smell...I too. No way! I saw them, their brown and black fur fading into the dark. I swam back and went out of the water. 'This dream is giving me a headache, this seemed too realistic.' I started walking back home and found my open window, I jump back in and dive into my bed again. Tasio was wolf obsessed, he'd never miss the opportunity to kill even a wolf a while ago. The loud howl must wake him up but didn't, this must be a dream. GREAT MORNING GREET me with a loud thud on my door. I'm one hundred percent sure that it was his newly made cane, he might break his fist if he would knock that loud. I sat up and saw myself naked. My mattress was damp as well as my blanket. What if it did happen? Was it a dream or not? Of course, it was a dream! I swiftly moved and set those goosebumps aside. I tied my hair into a bond but a few strands went on my face, it was blue. I ran to the bathroom and checked my hair, it was just a few strands, I could easily cover them up, why would my hair turn blue? I never dyed my hair and never in my wildest dream did I think of dying my hair. I went out and cooked for breakfast, I knew that he was mad. I found him earlier sitting on his favorite chair by the window. I carefully put the pot into the fire. "I am getting old," my hand stopped midway and glance at him. "Who else didn't know?" I never miss that tight smile on his lips. I got my rhetorical tongue from him. He might feel like he was talking to himself. "I want to visit my old house," I couldn't find the right word to reply. I only knew that he was dead serious. "I was thirty when I got here, I choose to live in this jungle, where no one thinks someone lives in here..." he drank his organic tea, he made it himself using those herbs around. "I could still clearly remember why I went here. My wife was stolen, a man who can transform into a wolf stole my wife." I saw his grip on his cane tighten. While memories came rushing into my head, myself turning into a wolf. Something cold as ice wrapped at the back of my neck, while my ears were burning. I wiped all my what if, and turned to him. "Is that a sign of aging?" I joked but he didn't move. He slowly turned to me and I met his lonely eyes. "I hope so, you are too young for this but it is true. Werewolves are true, back when I still live with my wife, we were happy. We were planning to have kids, travel, and spent weekends with the family but all of it went into ash. She met this guy, she couldn't look into my eyes straight as she used to. I tried everything I could to win her back but this man was according to her, he was her mate. But of course, I didn't believe in that myth. Until one night, I saw her sneaking out." He laughs while looking at his teacup. "I locked her up that time, I was guarding against the ground floor of our house but she jump from her window. I was broken and ran out instantly thinking she was dead but I found her in the arms of a man. He put her down and he... turns into a wolf." He turned to me again. I lost every word, I only stared at him. "You don't believe me, are you?" He took a sip of his tea again. "I too, I couldn't bring myself to believe in that myth but I saw what I saw. I had gone some research, read a different article, search for genuine information." His unstable breath made me worried about him. Now I understand his hatred of any lupus creature. "I went here to find my wife, instead I found troops of wolves around here and learned how to hunt them down. I know they hate silver, so I use silver in every part of my house. I created wolfsbane and arrows lace with it. Bullets coated with silver. My first every kill was an Alpha, I killed him when he was wandering around, a perfect shot using my personalized gun." He pointed to the wolf fur where he place his pot of flowers. "What are they?" I bravely asked. "They are devils, they mercilessly killed innocent humans, even poor animals. There are differences between werewolves and wolves. Werewolves were the highest or superior among all. They can be human or wolf while wolves are just wolves who serve the werewolves. They are only servants and the lowest kind." He gladly explains, considering the fact that I am not his biological daughter. I might be one of those werewolves. "What is alpha?" "The leader of werewolves, they respect them like a king. Alpha usually have a beta their second command and a gamma their third command and delta are the warrior that leads their wolves and omega, their server. Low as the wolves yet they are werewolves, the trash of the group." I serve his breakfast as well as mine. He walked towards me and sat across from me. "I never killed a werewolf, I have been trying to find one but I failed. All I wish before my last breath is that I could finally avenge my broken heart and my supposedly family." Then he started eating, while I wasn't able to swallow my food and I constantly drank water. "Can you tell me something about them?" "They move fast, run fast, and they have a sensitive sense of smell as wolves. They have a so-called mate the destined partner for a werewolf by the moon goddess. They are somewhat a cult, moon devotee." Last night, I experienced being...no. That was insane. "They admire the moon, you mean?" "Maybe," and I drank his water and got up. I went straight to my room. I looked at my hands, was it true? I couldn't bring myself to believe this but I might. The sudden change means more than I allow myself to believe. I may be one of them but I couldn't. Tasio would hate me. He was my only family. His angry face lingered in my head. I hope I was only dreaming last night. As the sun turned orange, the night was fast approaching, I'm afraid that dream, or if it was true to happen again. I didn't know what I should do. Nervousness was deafening my thoughts, refraining me to act cool and normal. "You seem unstable?" He spoke and I quickly turned to him, he was wiping his arrow, and its shiny tip was more than visible. I unconsciously to a huge gulp and got a glass of water. "I was never better," I answered to ease the feeling inside me, I didn't what was going into my head, I couldn't sit still and act like nothing was going on, when in fact, what happened last night was a big mess. I feel like the time was running fast than it should be. I watched him go to his room, and I too. The moon was still out there full of grace and lovely. I sat on my bed and clasp my hands together. There was the feeling again, the feeling of craving to go out. Freedom. When I know, Tasio never prohibits me to do anything I want, why would I seek freedom? It was creeping me the hell out. I did all I could not turn to the window. Yet I did, my feet were aching to run, should I go. At this moment, I am one hundred percent sure that everything was real and I have nothing to deny it. I carefully opened the door and stealthily jump out. I started running and I felt like bending down until I touch the ground, everything went clearer than my normal sight and I already knew that I transform into a wolf again. Wrong and afraid of what it might cause me, but I love the feeling while I was running. The cool breeze of the air and how I feel the ground, the night was just beautiful and fine. I heard those loud howls again, I stopped when I realize that I was much closer to them, should I show up and meet them? I couldn't do it still. I started running back home, but then I smelled something. A smell of vanilla mixed with citrus. t The pleasant smell was addicting, I slow down and eventually stopped. I started walking to follow the smell. Until I heard a movement too, it was running in my direction so I hurriedly hid behind the trunk of the nearest tree. I followed its steps and I heard it stop just next to the tree I was hiding. A growl tensed my whole body if I run. It would follow me. The smell went stronger, and I heard it take another step which made me step closer to the trunk. I was terrified watching the side where it was going, my breath hitched as I saw its nose. Until I saw its eye, it electric yellow and gold-like eye. It seemed to be enchanting, it walked slowly until I got a full view of its body. It was a towering wolf, taller than I and it was gorgeous.Chapter 4: MateHe went to me, so I stepped back. I continued walking until I bumped into the tree. It smelled every part of my body and even licked my face. It was weird but it started wagging its tail. While I realized that the smell a while ago came from this wolf. Using its paw it scratched my face like it was initiating play. I wasn't feeling comfortable with it. My heartbeat wasn't helping to make me calm down. It was beating clumsily, so I stepped to the left to escape from the wolf. It did a sad sound and then it sat down. I took another step away and it drop its head to the ground looking up at me.I still took another step, the time when I felt like there was a weird string pulling me towards it. I turned around to run but I was suddenly stricken by a lightning-like shot.Mate,'Mate,' a man's voice resounded inside my head. He stood up and walked toward me. He snuggle in my neck and even licked my face again. Was he a werewolf too? I thought he was only a wolf. I
Chapter 5: The Werewolf"I was out for some air, what are you doing up there, get down." He was not young enough for tree climbing, if he'd ever fall he'd break all his bones. "I am not weak as you think," he murmured but I could see his hands shaking while climbing down the tree. "To the north, I saw one heading north." He whispered and I nodded, He'd been suspecting that there were residing there, we've been trying to find it over years. I was walking fast when he suddenly stopped, the turned to me and his eyes went to my hands. His eyes were on my gloves, I restrained myself not to shake or move and act as if, I was confused and innocent."You wear gloves," he concluded. His suspicious look burned my neck."I thought it was cool," what a lame excuse. When did I start losing my common sense? "Let's go, we're wasting time," I said in an attempt of saving mess. He did head-on and led the way. I was only following his step. Then we got into someplace, it was way darker than
Chapter 6: The Lost WolfHe gravely spoke those words while eyeing me like I betrayed him. I shook my head, it wasn't true. I didn't mean to, I didn't even know I was...I am a werewolf. "No no no, I am not your enemy here, I am the Olive that you raised, I can forget being a werewolf and be a hunter still. I can protect you." I didn't know what I am saying, I was too desperate to ease his anger. I couldn't lose him. His anger was scaring me, I didn't want him to be mad at me."A werewolf is a werewolf, end of the story." And he drew his last arrow, it was aiming at me. All I did was to look at him in his eyes, hoping that he might change his mind. I raise both of my hands as a sign of surrender. His arrow has no match how much pain it cost me while looking at his eyes full of determination to kill me."Fight!" he shouted at me."You are my father, I can not harm you.""I. DO. NOT. HAVE. A. CHILD. ESPECIALLY. A. WEREWOLF!" The emphasis broke my heart, even more, I lost it,
Chapter 7: RejectionI am here, standing at exactly where I stood the first time and the last time we met. And hoping to meet him again. On the edge of this cliff and the beauty in front of it. The green forest and the blue sky met in the middle. Birds were passing by and clouds were calmly moving unnoticeable. A scorching day has ended, and the sky started turning orange. A sign that night was approaching. I couldn't wait anymore but at the same time was nervous. I was afraid of what would be his reaction to seeing me. I know that he would be mad but would he forgive me? I could not sit still knowing that he might kill me but he is my mate. He might give me chance to prove my loyalty. I hope he would still accept me.I immediately stood when I heard some calm footsteps. I waited for him to show up and he did in his wolf form. He was so gorgeous but then he angrily ran to me and jump. As his paw hit my shoulder I fell and my head was an inch from the edge. He was about to bite
Chapter 8: Lovely Flowers I was watering my flower in my garden, I felt good seeing them grow and bloom. This at least eases the grief in my heart. I didn't know how I survived it, I just woke up, feeling pain in every inch of my body. I was in my wolf form, it was my weakest point but I managed to sit up and licked at my wounds. After a few days, my bones had gone better, no food and water. I only stayed there down the cliff. After gaining my strength back, I started hunting for food and never transformed into my human form. I eat the way wolves eat and live as a wolf for a few days. My heart was full of grief and I hard move or survive a day. But one morning, I decided to shift into my human form and create a home. Away from his pack and Tasio's house. I never dare to enter their territory and stayed in my safe zone. I smelled the fresh scent of flowers around me. Since that day when I found out that I am a werewolf, my sense of smell has heightened so has my sense of hear
Chapter 9: Who's a witch?"What are you talking about?" I asked her but she instead snatched my wrist and looked at my birthmark. "Zillia," she whispered and I snatched my wrist away from her. But the sun had gone down, I started running away from the city. I needed to find a spot where I could safely howl before the time of howling which was in the middle of the night. "Wait!" she was running after me so I ran faster and when I looked back I couldn't see her anymore so I shifted into my wolf. I could feel her glee as her paw hit the ground. Until I saw a perfect spot where I could have the perfect view of the full moon. I knew it was safe in the place, I had made sure to avoid the territories of packs around. Time flies real fast, but the feeling and the memory were still clear in me. The full moon ruined my peace and took everything for me. On my first ever shift and learned that I have a wolf in me and the next day I lost everything I have. "Awooooo!" It was not onl
Chapter 10: A Night With Grief "That I couldn't answer," she said. But the pain in her eyes couldn't keep me calm."I was young and wild back then and traveled alone while my older sister your mother wants to live in peace. All she did was take care of her flowers and repeat her routine every day. I found it boring so I decided to leave her." She kept combing my hair while reminiscing those moments."This is her house. I missed her so I went home and found this house empty.""She's lost? She's probably with my father he a werewolf, you said it is forbidden to have a relationship with werewolves, they are maybe hiding." I exclaimed and I little hope to build into my heart. I badly want to meet them."I don't think so." And my tiny hope crashed."Why?""Why would you be alone now if they are just hiding? Why would you grow up with a hunter if nothing happened? I don't want to imply a thing and hurt you but I must not give you false hope.""What do you mean?""I foun
Chapter 11: Meeting Him Again"I know, don't mention it," and she flashed a fake smile. But eventually, we broke into laughter and even had a high five. "I feel so fake, yuck," then she acted vomiting which made me laugh harder. "Are you alright?" she asked and my laughter instantly subsided. "I hope," I couldn't hide my pain instead of flashing a fake smile I looked down. She walked toward me and wrapped her arms around my body. "You have me now, all those wounds will heal." She whispered and kiss me on my cheek. "You are so beautiful," and she pinches my face. "Thank you," I didn't think it was comforting but I think she mean it."Now get ready cause we'll be performing the ritual, we need to cut the connection between you and your mate and also waken your craft." It tightened my heart, I didn't know what should I do. He already chose to be with another she-wolf, why do I feel like I am betraying him. "Okay," I answered and went to my room. I sat on my chair acros
