Chapter 2: Weird
I checked my shoulder again, I even touched it and pinch it but there was no blood, no wounds, even a scatch. I checked my other shoulder and I found nothing too. It couldn't possibly heal that quick, I saw it bleed. "Bloody Hell," I mumbled. I was more than sure that its nails dug into my shoulder. If I was only imagining things then someone should explain the dried blood here. "Olive!" I heard him call my name. I winced in frustration yet I hurriedly took a bath and went out. I wore a sweater to cover it up, I knew the notice the bloodstain on my shoulder. True enough he stared at my shoulder once I got out and cringed his forehead. " It seemed fine," he commented. I saw him carefully remove its fur from its body. I never liked wolf meat, it didn't smell bad, I just couldn't bring myself to have a bite of its meat. I didn't know. And got a glass of water from the pitcher made with a bamboo trunk. "Just scatches," I answered. That one thing was where I didn't know what just happened. I could not tell him about it, he'd think I'm insane. I helped him prepare his breakfast, I set the fire and clean the pot he'd be using. After preparing everything he needed, I went back to my room and massage my neck. The metallic smell of blood filled my nose, making me feel sick. My nose went sensitive today. While my head was pounding mildly, I dived into my bed and went under my blanket. I felt weak today, I didn't know what was going on seriously. "Get up," I buried my head under my pillow, I didn't know what time already but I'd not going to get up. Then I felt my blanket move down, he was pulling it so I pulled it back. I didn't get up until he had given up. "Fine, let your worms eat your kidney," and I heard him walk out the door, I didn't see it but my ears were clear to hear a loud thud of my poor door. I planned of cleaning today but my whole body was just too weak to do something. Until I miss the day, I was half-asleep the whole day, and I could hear him constantly asking if I was still alive. "If you're dying just tell me so I could prepare your coffin." He would drop by my door and yell something like that. That was how he check if I was okay but I'm not in the mood to answer. I refused to speak the whole day and I'm surprised by his patience. And some strange feeling woke me up, I sat up gasping for air and felt my body burning. I wiped my forehead and realized the flooded sweat all over my body. I closed my eyes and took a long inhale and let it out gradually. I felt my muscle, they were restless, I ache for doing something, and smelled the damp dried leaves around and heard the sound of dancing leaves as the wind blew. I tried to calm my breath but I only went on suffocating. I hurriedly opened my window and unconsciously closed my eyes as I felt the calming breeze of air. As I opened my eyes, I saw the darkness all over and my attention fell on the little amount of light from the moon, which successfully went through the thick leaves of the trees around the cabin. And I jump out of the window, I didn't know what was happening but I started running insanely. My lips pulled into a smile. The sound of my foot hitting the ground was pleasing, the harsh wind that touched my skin was calming, while the sound of those insects around created a perfect melody in my ears. Then I stopped on the wide ground, where I could witness the full moon shining brightly. I stepped onto the top of the rock and felt a great feeling. I felt like I regain my strength. Something wiped my smile. A faint howl resounded, my eyes went wide and I instantly jump off and hid behind the tree. There was something in their howl, it made me feel sick, or I wanted to howl too. Something was climbing in my throat, seemed like my voice was aching to come out. I clasped both of my palms on my mouth to restrain the urge or shouting too. 'What is happening to me?' I suddenly held my head, it was pounding really hard. "Holy Mother, what is happening to me?" The pain was gradually increasing, I put up all my strength to bear the pain, but when oxygen ditched me, I lost it. I screamed hard, to the point that I hurt my throat and it turned into something odd. It was the sound of a wolf's howl. My eyes widen as I recall the sound, how did that sound come from my throat. "I did howl, I heard it... no. I wasn't me, it can't be. I'm not a wolf, I am probably dreaming, I should wake up, Tasio should wake me up now." I was panicky, I didn't know what to do. I had gone slapping my body, 'this can't be real!' Then I heard another wave of howling wolves. Instead of fear, it seemed to ask me to do the same. "Awooooooo!" And I did too, this time it was louder and I heard my bones cracking. I fell to my knees when the pain from my heart spread throughout my whole body. My palms met the ground to support myself from falling to the ground completely. "Awwwooooooooooo!" I tilted my head up and faced the moon. As I opened my eyes again, I met the stunning paperwhite moon above, screaming with power and simplicity yet eye-pleasing. Finally, the howling of wolves ended, and my gaze fell to the ground. Paw?Chapter 3: WerewolvesWHITE FURR, PAW. My eyes immediately widen and jump off. I stood but eventually I fell back. My hands, it was not a hand anymore. 'Bloody Mary!' I had gone panicked more when I couldn't speak, I could only do it inside my head. I turned to my body, I had a tail, white thick fur. 'This can't be happening!'I started running, I head to the nearest lake where I had gone before. I looked at myself, my eyes were blue and I have a dog's face. I turned my head to the left when I heard footsteps, I hurriedly swam into the lake and hide. Wolves had a great sense of smell...I too.No way!I saw them, their brown and black fur fading into the dark. I swam back and went out of the water. 'This dream is giving me a headache, this seemed too realistic.' I started walking back home and found my open window, I jump back in and dive into my bed again. Tasio was wolf obsessed, he'd never miss the opportunity to kill even a wolf a while ago. The loud howl must wake him u
Chapter 4: MateHe went to me, so I stepped back. I continued walking until I bumped into the tree. It smelled every part of my body and even licked my face. It was weird but it started wagging its tail. While I realized that the smell a while ago came from this wolf. Using its paw it scratched my face like it was initiating play. I wasn't feeling comfortable with it. My heartbeat wasn't helping to make me calm down. It was beating clumsily, so I stepped to the left to escape from the wolf. It did a sad sound and then it sat down. I took another step away and it drop its head to the ground looking up at me.I still took another step, the time when I felt like there was a weird string pulling me towards it. I turned around to run but I was suddenly stricken by a lightning-like shot.Mate,'Mate,' a man's voice resounded inside my head. He stood up and walked toward me. He snuggle in my neck and even licked my face again. Was he a werewolf too? I thought he was only a wolf. I
Chapter 5: The Werewolf"I was out for some air, what are you doing up there, get down." He was not young enough for tree climbing, if he'd ever fall he'd break all his bones. "I am not weak as you think," he murmured but I could see his hands shaking while climbing down the tree. "To the north, I saw one heading north." He whispered and I nodded, He'd been suspecting that there were residing there, we've been trying to find it over years. I was walking fast when he suddenly stopped, the turned to me and his eyes went to my hands. His eyes were on my gloves, I restrained myself not to shake or move and act as if, I was confused and innocent."You wear gloves," he concluded. His suspicious look burned my neck."I thought it was cool," what a lame excuse. When did I start losing my common sense? "Let's go, we're wasting time," I said in an attempt of saving mess. He did head-on and led the way. I was only following his step. Then we got into someplace, it was way darker than
Chapter 6: The Lost WolfHe gravely spoke those words while eyeing me like I betrayed him. I shook my head, it wasn't true. I didn't mean to, I didn't even know I was...I am a werewolf. "No no no, I am not your enemy here, I am the Olive that you raised, I can forget being a werewolf and be a hunter still. I can protect you." I didn't know what I am saying, I was too desperate to ease his anger. I couldn't lose him. His anger was scaring me, I didn't want him to be mad at me."A werewolf is a werewolf, end of the story." And he drew his last arrow, it was aiming at me. All I did was to look at him in his eyes, hoping that he might change his mind. I raise both of my hands as a sign of surrender. His arrow has no match how much pain it cost me while looking at his eyes full of determination to kill me."Fight!" he shouted at me."You are my father, I can not harm you.""I. DO. NOT. HAVE. A. CHILD. ESPECIALLY. A. WEREWOLF!" The emphasis broke my heart, even more, I lost it,
Chapter 7: RejectionI am here, standing at exactly where I stood the first time and the last time we met. And hoping to meet him again. On the edge of this cliff and the beauty in front of it. The green forest and the blue sky met in the middle. Birds were passing by and clouds were calmly moving unnoticeable. A scorching day has ended, and the sky started turning orange. A sign that night was approaching. I couldn't wait anymore but at the same time was nervous. I was afraid of what would be his reaction to seeing me. I know that he would be mad but would he forgive me? I could not sit still knowing that he might kill me but he is my mate. He might give me chance to prove my loyalty. I hope he would still accept me.I immediately stood when I heard some calm footsteps. I waited for him to show up and he did in his wolf form. He was so gorgeous but then he angrily ran to me and jump. As his paw hit my shoulder I fell and my head was an inch from the edge. He was about to bite
Chapter 8: Lovely Flowers I was watering my flower in my garden, I felt good seeing them grow and bloom. This at least eases the grief in my heart. I didn't know how I survived it, I just woke up, feeling pain in every inch of my body. I was in my wolf form, it was my weakest point but I managed to sit up and licked at my wounds. After a few days, my bones had gone better, no food and water. I only stayed there down the cliff. After gaining my strength back, I started hunting for food and never transformed into my human form. I eat the way wolves eat and live as a wolf for a few days. My heart was full of grief and I hard move or survive a day. But one morning, I decided to shift into my human form and create a home. Away from his pack and Tasio's house. I never dare to enter their territory and stayed in my safe zone. I smelled the fresh scent of flowers around me. Since that day when I found out that I am a werewolf, my sense of smell has heightened so has my sense of hear
Chapter 9: Who's a witch?"What are you talking about?" I asked her but she instead snatched my wrist and looked at my birthmark. "Zillia," she whispered and I snatched my wrist away from her. But the sun had gone down, I started running away from the city. I needed to find a spot where I could safely howl before the time of howling which was in the middle of the night. "Wait!" she was running after me so I ran faster and when I looked back I couldn't see her anymore so I shifted into my wolf. I could feel her glee as her paw hit the ground. Until I saw a perfect spot where I could have the perfect view of the full moon. I knew it was safe in the place, I had made sure to avoid the territories of packs around. Time flies real fast, but the feeling and the memory were still clear in me. The full moon ruined my peace and took everything for me. On my first ever shift and learned that I have a wolf in me and the next day I lost everything I have. "Awooooo!" It was not onl
Chapter 10: A Night With Grief "That I couldn't answer," she said. But the pain in her eyes couldn't keep me calm."I was young and wild back then and traveled alone while my older sister your mother wants to live in peace. All she did was take care of her flowers and repeat her routine every day. I found it boring so I decided to leave her." She kept combing my hair while reminiscing those moments."This is her house. I missed her so I went home and found this house empty.""She's lost? She's probably with my father he a werewolf, you said it is forbidden to have a relationship with werewolves, they are maybe hiding." I exclaimed and I little hope to build into my heart. I badly want to meet them."I don't think so." And my tiny hope crashed."Why?""Why would you be alone now if they are just hiding? Why would you grow up with a hunter if nothing happened? I don't want to imply a thing and hurt you but I must not give you false hope.""What do you mean?""I foun
