LOGINCarolina was torn between who to talk to. Definitely not Adrian who is practically shutting everyone out. And not Ashley who's gone off to where no one knows but Adrian "You know where to find me" Obviously, only Adrian knows but how could she talk to a man who's turning himself into a ghost in his own house. ~MIDNIGHT Carolina got up casually from her bed and strolled over to Adrian's study after preparing a whole speech and presentation on why he should call Ashley back or at least tell her where she can find her. She knocked at his door but there was no response. She pushed it slightly and it was open. She peeped in before appearing fully. She leaped towards him quietly and noticed the papers scattered around the table. He was asleep after a long time and day. She leaned down to look closely, he looked somehow relieved, instead of the constant fused brows and almost tearing mouth. They were relaxed. She saw the bottle of wine and half filled glass, he had taken way too muc
The funeral went on, Dubois and his men sat somewhere private as Adrian focused on the event. Carolina stepped out for a while to get fresh air from the tense one at the other side. "Miss Dawson" an old deep voice called behind her. She turned around "Mr. Dubois" she called "Look at you, you look different" he laughed "the last time I saw you, you were supposed to get married to Mr. Jeong, I suppose" he said Carolina kept mute "Have you been well? How is your father?" He asked "I thought you knew" she looked at him "I haven't met your father in a while. He's becoming someone I don't know" he said, his voice dropping to an octave. The clouds gathered, about to pour. "Mummy?" Justin called and ran towards her, holding the hem of her skirt. Dubois crouched and looked at Justin, Carolina held Justin behind her "He looks too much like Moretti" he noted "Is there a problem?" Adrian spoke behind Dubois. "Not at all." Dubois chuckled and walked away. Justin took Adrian's hand
~Moretti Mansion. The mansion had been quiet for a while, especially when Adrian never got out of his study and Carolina laid in bed throughout. Justin sat on the bed next to her, flipping through pages of a book. Carolina laid on her side, zoned out. "Mummy?" Justin tapped her arm She snapped back to reality "Yes?" She answered and he said nothing. Carolina got off the bed and walked out of the room. She slowly descended the stairs, holding the rails firmly. A loud thud echoed through the house. Adrian's gaze lifted from the screen. He didn't mind at first but his attention kept going there. He walked around the house and saw Carolina at the end of the stairway, trying to get up. He strolled down to her "What was that sound?" He asked even though it was obvious. She managed to get up but didn't look at Adrian "Nothing" she said, about to leave "I'll call the doctor" he said "There'll be no need" she walked away. The day of the funeral came and they all got ready to
Carolina stood there, her eyes were fixed on Adrian and then shifted to Ashley who also looked scared for her. "Move" he said like he forced the word out of his hurting throat with his clenched jaw. Carolina moved out of the way and Adrian stormed by. Carolina looked at Ashley "Did my father kill someone...else?" Her voice broke "Don't conclude yet. We're not sure, we can..." She said and Carolina just walked away like she had seen a ghost. She walked inside her room and closed the door behind her. She leaned against the door and slid down. Though she wasn't sure if her father did kill someone but why is every tragedy in Adrian's life connected to her father. She took out her phone and stared at the keypad. Of course, she still knew his number. Adrian wouldn't give her answers and she was dying of guilt of what's true and what's not. She couldn't even bring herself to call her father even though all she had to do was tap the call pad. Before she knew it, Carolina broke down
~Molly Penthouse. Adrian arrived at the penthouse in a full and dangerous speed. His car came to a halt as he bolted out of the car. There were other cops around and their cars and an ambulance "Are you Mr. Moretti?" A cop asked "I am" he said and he followed the cops in. The cop paused by the door and ushered him into the room. Adrian pushed the door open and saw other cops investigating the area. On the bed, a figure was covered with a white clothe. He stepped closer and reached out for the sheets. He pulled it slowly and caught a glimpse of her face. He pulled further and saw her. The disaster that befell her. She laid there, unmoving, lifeless in the pool of her own blood. The sheets dropped from Adrian's hand "We got a call hours ago from one of the maids and when we arrived, she was gone already." The cop behind him said "We were going to transfer her to the hospital but we thought to wait for you to come" he added and Adrian nodded. The cops kept investigating the
Carolina went to Justin and took out the ear buds "Justin, why did you cry?" She asked frankly. He saidwhispered "Are you just going to stay silent? You know that was wrong, right?" She asked and he nodded with a remorseful look. "Shall we go and apologize to the guard?" She reached out her hand and he immediately took hers. They headed out of the room and went to the guard "What do you say?" She looked at Justin "I'm sorry" he said, looking uobat the guard "And?" "Thank you" he said. The guard crouched to Justin and hesitated before gently patting his head "It's okay" he said. The guard was only protecting Justin from pushing a ceramic flower vase placed on the high table so it wouldn't fall on him when Adrian caught him. After all, it was a misunderstanding. Adrian stood behind the walls, after hearing that, he walked away feeling a flash of guilt. ~3AM. Carolina walked quietly around the house while it rained and heard a faint sound from Adrian's study. She peeped
