Chapter 5. Down syndrome.

Was this girl dumb or what? She was very amused. 

"You have to compensate me." The girl demanded. "Why should she compensate you? It was clearly an accident, Clara!" Kay said meaningfully and a lot of people agreed with her. "Mind your business Kay. It's between me and her!" She said with annoyance.

Kay wanted to reply but Rory glanced at her telling her to be quiet.

"How should I compensate you?" She said with a cryptic smile. The girl,who was Carla, smiled satisfactorily. "Wipe off the Mac and cheese from my clothes. Right now." 

"Okay!" Rory accepted. She went to a table, picked up the water from there and walked back to Clara. By now everyone's attention was on Clara. Clara was the school bully and Rory was the new student,so everyone was curious about what would happen. Without saying a word, Rory opened the bottle of water and poured it on Clara's head. She emptied the entire bottle.

"Ah! What did you just do?!" Clara screamed.

"What you told me to". Rory replied with a smirk. She did tell her to wipe the Mac and cheese off her and the water did the trick.

Everyone started laughing and pointing at Clara.

"This isn't over!" Clara declared. However,Rory just walked away and Clara went out of there fuming.

Blaire got a new tray of food for Rory. They got back to eating.

After lunch,Rory was alone under a tree when she heard a voice call her name. 

"Rory?" Rory looked up and saw a familiar face. It was none other than Malcolm,her ex-boyfriend. Her lips curled up and said coldly,"What?"

"What are you doing here?" He asked, a little surprised.

"Are you stupid? Or are you just fond of asking stupid questions?" She said with a straight face. Malcolm's face darkened. He knew this was a school but why would she be here? He heard that they drove her out of the house a few days ago. So why was she here? Rory couldn't be bothered by this fool,so she stood up and started walking away. 

She felt a hand holding her arm and she looked around and saw it was Malcolm.

She narrowed her eyes at the hand holding her arm and said,"Let me go". He felt shivers running down his spine. He immediately let go of her arm. "We need to talk". He said.

"You and I have nothing to talk about!" She said firmly. Not waiting to hear his response,she left him standing there. 

These things are distracting her from her main objective. She needed to stop fooling around with insignificant things.

She went back to class. The Biology teacher walked in. 

"Good afternoon everyone!" He greeted the class.

"Good afternoon sir!" The class answered.

"So today we are going to talk about genetics. In our last class, I introduced the topic to you all. Now we will discuss more about genes!" He started teaching. The teacher paused and asked a question.

"In a case,where a person has 47 chromosomes,what do you call it?" 

Everyone looked stunned. A normal human has 46 chromosomes. Half is donated by the father and the other half is donated by the mother. That means 23 each. Then what did he mean by 47 chromosomes? They were all confused.

"Down syndrome". A clear voice could be heard. They all turned to look at the voice that spoke. It was, Rory. 

She didn't go to school and was 18. It didn't mean she wasn't smart. Mr and Mrs Devane bought all the necessary textbooks for Sammy and when no one was home she would read it. It was fun. This topic was like a piece of cake to her. 

"That is correct!" The teacher said with a broad smile. Most students didn't know this but she did. It was truly amazing.

"She is the complete package,beauty and brain!" Someone said softly.

Everyone silently agreed.

School was over but she was a little disappointed because she didn't see Sammy. She came here for her. T.H.S was Sammy's school. She needed to take revenge on her. If she thought killing her was easy,she was dead wrong!

As she greeted her classmates goodbye,she came out and saw a black maybach car waiting outside. When she saw no one looking she immediately went inside the car.

Daniel was in the car.

"How was school today?" He asked.

"It was okay". She replied.

She started talking about everything the teacher said and about her new friends. Daniel listened attentively to her and when she brought up the issue that happened in the cafeteria,he raised an eyebrow and she said,"It's okay. I handled it well!" She said, trying to show off. He smiled. She was really talkative.

They finally arrived home. Daniel went to the study and she went to her room. She changed into house clothes. In the room,she sat down by her desk and turned on the newly bought laptop. It was the latest model. After she finished all the necessary things,she got down to business. 

She had no friends when she stayed in the Devane Mansion. She needed to find someone who could help her. 

  'Beep'. The notification tone sounded on her phone. She checked if it was a message on her chats.

She opened the chat and saw she had been added to a group called "Rory's Devotees'. Rory facepalmed. herself. What was the need to create a group? The group was created 1 hour ago and there have been 1,567 unread chats. We're these people that jobless? She only gave them her number because they begged. If she had known it was because of this she would have never agreed.

The group had all her classmates. Then an idea popped into her head. She privately chatted,Kay.

Rory:[Hey]

After a few seconds,Kay replied.

Kaylaluv:[Hi, what's up?].

Rory:[I need a favor]. She thought for a while before she typed.
