Chapter 6: Ours. Not Yours. Not Mine

.

Williams rubbed his brother’s back in an attempt to comfort him and kissed his hair. “I know Jedi, I know and we will, we just have to be patient that’s all.”

“And what if we run out of time, what if we’re too late and his name turns white?” Jedi asked fearfully as he looked up at Williams. “What do we do then?.”

He felt like crying but he did his best to hold them back.

“It’s only Saturday, we have a month in New York for our vacation, don’t we?,” replied Williams. “We’ll search until our toes bleed till we find him okay?”.

Jedi finally cracked a small smile and leaned up to hug his brother even more.

It wasn’t often that they got chances to be alone always getting held up by their different classes and schedules, they barely even had time to talk together while they were on campus.

They didn’t want to reveal that they were brothers although students on campus knew for a fact that they were indeed close but that was where it ended, nobody thought of them being siblings because of how contrasted their personalities ran.

Any deep look into their life history and any one could immediately pin point that these two were brothers.

Then again, Jedidiah and Williams hadn’t expected to have the same soulmate so which meant they were bonded for life through their one soulmate but that wasn’t something they could control.

They were one of the few people in the world who had to share a soulmate but Williams seemed himself lucky that he had to share with someone he already knew; his brother.

But still Williams and Jedidiah always hid their soulmate’s names at all costs. It was easier for their other friends to hide their marks then it was for the two brothers as they both each had the same name on both wrists while everyone else had one.

Williams was distracted from his thoughts as Jedidiah grabbed his right wrist and held it out showing Luca’s name as he held his left wrist beside it showing the match.

They were both formed in the same font and were both gray.

“Hang in there Luca,” Jedidiah whispered before he kissed both their wrists.

Williams was used to his brother doing this little ritual he did whenever he had a nightmare and he knew it comforted the boy.

Jackson’s voice traveled up the stairs. “Humans... I’m going to order pizza since it’s getting late and I wasn’t born to cook for you all dumb asses.” He called. “Come down and tell me what you want.”

Williams looked at Jedidiah and ruffled his orange hair lovingly before pulling him out of the room and down the stairs.

The rest of the night was spent hanging out in the living room watching TV and eating pizza.

Jedidiah didn’t pay much attention to the movie they were watching as he was snuggled up to Williams on the floor.

Instead he was checking his one month registration to take classes at the art school he had mentioned earlier, making sure everything was in order for tomorrow.

They had all sorts of classes going on all week but the ones he wanted were only Tuesdays, Thursdays, and on the weekends.

He barely noticed that his brother was running his fingers through his hair as his head rested in Williams’s lap. Jedidiah couldn’t shake the feeling he got from his nightmare in the car, the feeling of glass ripping into his skin. A shiver ran down his spine just as he closed his laptop having done what be needed to do.

Jedidiah looked around at his friends, Saint was asleep in Harry’s lap as they laid back in the recliner next to the couch.

Harry was still awake and watching the movie, his head propped on a pillow.

Jackson was snuggled into Nathan’s chest, back facing the TV while his boyfriend rubbed circles between his shoulder blades.

Jedidiah could only guess that Jackson was probably asleep as well. With a sigh he pushed the laptop under the coffee with his foot, they had pushed the table off to the side so he and Williams could lay on the floor.

Williams was leaning against the couch, his head pillowed on Jackson’s butt.

Reaching up, Jedidiah poked Williams in the stomach to get his attention and the boy looked down at him. “I’m going to go to bed,” He said softly so as not to disturb the others.

“Classes start at eleven tomorrow so I best go get sleep.”

Williams nodded as Jedidiah sat up. “Do you want me to come with you? To bed I mean,” He replied.

Jedidiah shook his head then shrugged. “Only if you want to,” he said. “Though you can stay and watch the movie, I don’t mind.”

Williams nodded then leaned forward to give Jedidiah a soft kiss on his forehead.

“I’ll be up soon as the movie is over,” He said sweetly. “It should be over pretty soon.”

Jedidiah nodded and gave him a forehead kiss too before getting and heading to bed. It took him about twenty minutes to shower, change and brush his teeth and by the time he was done, Williams had come upstairs to get ready for bed.

As he snuggled up to Jedidiah, he mumbled something about showering in the morning and Jedidiah just chuckled.

“Good night, Liam,” He said. “I love you.”

Williams chuckled deeply wrapping his arms around him. “I love you too and don’t worry, we’ll find him,” He whispered with assurance.

Jedidiah just nodded and closed his eyes.

The next morning Jedidiah had gotten out of bed early to get ready for the day while everyone else slept in.

About ten o’clock he was ready to go so he bade Williams goodbye who in a groggy faze simply said have fun before going back go sleep.

According to the map on his phone the school as about a half hour bus ride so he made his way to the nearest bus stop to wait. After boarding the bus he simply played around on his phone, searching mainly through social media looking for anything related to a Luca Knights but so far he’d come up empty handed.

Perhaps his soulmate didn’t have a social media handle?

Hard to believe considering it was the 22nd century.

Half hour later he reached the school, smiling at the building as he went inside.

First thing he had to do was check in with the teachers, one teacher in particular by the name of Mr. Christopher who gave him his schedule and gave him a tour of the building.

During the tour a small crowd had started to form near him, he figured it was mostly due to his hair color as he stood out like a sore thumb amongst the sea of brown and black.

Another reason might be that some might recognize him from blog entries or viral videos that the dance academy he was at posted to get fans interested about their academy.

Whatever the reason it made him slightly uncomfortable as he came to get away from all of that.

At one point during the tour of the third floor, the theater and music department he was told, Jedidiah got a weird tingling sensation in his left wrist which made him look down at Luca’s name.

He paused in his walk as he ran his finger over the characters, his skin warmer then usual.

“Anything wrong?” asked Mr. Christopher as he looked back at him.

Jedidiah looked up and shook his head with a smile. “Nope,” he said.

They walked for a couple more minutes heading back down to the second floor when he couldn’t stop himself from asking.

“Hey, by any chance is there a Luca Knights that goes to this school?”

Christopher blinked and looked at him. “Yes there is but… how did you know?”

Jedidiah just shrugged his shoulders. “Lucky guess?”

When the man raised his eyebrow at him he knew he’d have to explain further.

“I uh, have a soulmate who’s name is Luca Knights and I…”

“Got a weird feeling?” The teacher asked.

Jedidiah blinked and nodded as the man just smiled. “I thought so. I remember that feeling when I was searching for my soul mate around your age, scared me a little. Don’t worry I won’t tell anyone if you don’t want me to. Anyway yes, there is a Luca Knights here, I believe he is in he middle of his vocal lessons right now. He takes dance as well but he is in the age group below you so you won’t have classes with him.”

“How old is he?”.

“Seventeen,” Christopher said. “Just be careful around him. He’s a bit of a shy kid and doesn’t really talk to the other students although he still remains to be one of our top students.”

The man kept walking and as much as Jedidiah wanted to bolt up to the third floor and open every single door till he found Luca, he figured he might as well get more information and he didn’t want for cause problems on his first day.

“What else can you tell me about him?”.

Curiosity killed the cat right?

Christopher looked thoughtful for a moment as he stopped outside a classroom. “Well he and his mother were in a car accident four years ago and she died, though I really don’t know him all that well to tell you anything more. He hasn’t been one of my students as I teach theater and he only does music and dance. If you want to find out more I suggest you talk to him yourself. Anyway, this is going to be your classroom for the next two weeks so enjoy.” Christopher patted Jedidiah on the shoulder before walking away.

Jedidiah stood outside the door to the practice room debating his options.

He could go upstairs and check all the vocal rooms, particularly the ones with people in it or he could wait and hopefully find the boy later.

Deciding he couldn’t wait, or least didn’t want to wait, he turned to head down the hall only to be blocked by a group of girls starring at him with wide eyes. His blood ran cold but he gave them all a wide smile making them squeal.

“Morning ladies,” He chirped. “Sorry but can’t talk right now, got to get to class.”

He pointed to the door of the dance room before running inside to find a corner to hide in.

Guess he had no choice now but to wait.

Pulling out his phone he shot a quick text message to Williams.
