AURORA

“Uncle?”

My fingers tightened around the strap of my bag as my brain failed to believe that my husband was being bent over by a man he introduced to me as his uncle from his mother’s side.

This can’t be real…

Chuckling humorlessly to myself, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, willing myself that the sight before me would vanish when I opened them.

However, when I opened my eyes, the shameless man, now pulled out of my husband, stroked his rigid dick whilst glaring at me as if I were the shameless person here.

“What the fuck is going on?!” I bellowed at Ethan, my throat suddenly going dry.

Ethan quickly fixed his pants, his mouth opening and closing with no actual words leaving it... not even an apology.

The pumping sound coming from Uncle Jasper as he stroked his dick made it difficult to think... and I don’t mean this in a good way, I mean it in a disgusting kind of way!

“Are you going to put that pinky finger away, or do I have to shove it off you and throw it in the bin?!” So this was the meeting Ethan talked about? Bending over for his uncle?

Is he even his uncle, or was that just a lie to keep me unsuspecting?

With a scoff, Jasper finally stopped stroking his dick, bent down, and pulled his pants up. “I thought you said she wouldn’t be a problem?”

Refusing to be distracted by his shamelessness, I returned my attention to Ethan.

“Is this really what you have been up to all this while you have been claiming to be busy with work?” I demanded, taking a step closer to him. “I thought you had a meeting?! An actual meeting?!”

My eyes stung from the unshed tears.

After all the sacrifices I made for him, this is the betrayal I get?

Ethan took a shaky breath as he took a step towards me. “Can we not do this here?” he whispered, guilt flashing across his face. “My staff can hear us.”

My glare intensified as the tears clouding my vision finally rolled down my cheeks. “Fuck you, Ethan!” He thinks I care about his staff?

Taken aback by my outburst, Ethan frowned. “I understand you are pissed, but I won’t let this affect my work.” He pointed towards the door. “Go home, Aurora. When I get home tomorrow, we’ll talk about this.”

“Tomorrow?!” I yelled, stabbing my finger at the shameless man watching the drama unfold in the corner of the room. “You’re still spending the night here? With him?!”

He scrubbed his hand down his face. “Just leave, Aurora.”

“You cheated!” I cried, my hand itching to throw anything at him. “You cheated on me with that bastard, and I am the one who has to leave?”

“Are you going to shut her up?” Jasper hissed at Ethan. “All this shouting from her is giving me a headache and is slowly getting me pissed, and you know what happens when I get pissed.”

“How about you shut the fuck up and get the hell out of this place!” I spat, my lips trembling. “You are the bastard who shouldn’t be here!”

Rolling his eyes, he turned to Ethan. “Is she leaving, or should I?”

Dumbfounded by his audacity, I folded my arms and jutted my hips out, giving Ethan the chance to choose, and to my dismay, he chose him.

My husband picked up the landline and phoned his secretary, instructing her to come in and guide me out.

Scoffing in disbelief, I wiped my tears roughly off my face, glaring at the biggest mistake of my life.

“I can’t believe I gave it all up for you.”

A self-realization I didn’t think I would be admitting to in this lifetime.

I don’t know what hurt me the most: the fact that he cheated, the fact that he isn’t showing any remorse, or the fact that he chose him over me.

“Do you want to lose your job?” Ethan snapped at his secretary, who stood beside me with her hands clasped in front of her. “I called you in here to escort her out!”

“That won’t be necessary.” I refused to be insulted any further than I already had. “I’ll leave.”

Snatching up the dinner pack, because there was no way I was letting him use my food to replenish his power after what he did, I stomped out of his office, banging the door behind me.

Not bothering to wipe the tears pouring down my face, I stomped out of the building, straight for Dora’s car, and banged the door shut.

“That wasn’t as quick as I thought it would be,” Dora teased as she slowly lifted her eyes off her phone to my face.

She froze instantly, her lashes batting rapidly. “Are you crying?” She undid her seatbelt, leaning closer to me. “What happened?”

Her probing and concerned expression made it difficult to control my emotions, so the silent tears turned into loud sobbing.

Dora pulled me against her chest and wrapped her arms around me, patting my back gently.

“What’s going on?” she whispered, her voice trembling, she too on the verge of crying.

“I walked in on Ethan having sex,” I choked out, my entire body shaking as I sobbed into her chest.

“Did you just say that ugly motherfucker is cheating on you with his secretary?” she hissed, pulling me back a bit to look me in the face.

The murderous look in her eyes made me chuckle. Wiping my face with the heel of my hand, I leaned back into my seat.

“He wasn’t cheating with his secretary, but his uncle.”

Her eyes widened. “Family incest?”

Now that I think about it, I think I was just stupid in the past not to see the truth.

“I don’t think he was ever his uncle.” Ethan lied to make me unsuspecting of them.

Exhaling, I leaned my head against the window and closed my eyes.

“Take me home. I am tired.”

AURORAJonas insisted I move in with him until we figured out a housing solution for me, and knowing my brother, he wasn’t going to take no for an answer. So, I saved both of us the hassle by saying yes.“I don’t think today is the best day to visit them,” I muttered, standing akimbo as I stared at the dress I had laid out on the bed.My stomach twisted into knots at the mere thought of facing them. Every excuse I came up with sounded reasonable in my head, but none of them would change the inevitable. Sooner or later, I would have to look my parents in the eyes and face the consequences of the choices I had made.Jonas arched a brow from his seated position on the pink sofa. “You’ve been back for a week, Rora, and they know you’re back.”My eyes widened as I snapped my head towards him. “You told them?!”“If I didn’t, someone else would have.” Uncrossing his legs, he slowly made his way over to me before draping an arm over my shoulder. “Pushing off seeing them isn’t going to make an

AURORAEthan really did sign those divorce papers, and the day I was informed he sent them over was the same day it was made public that his company, ET Logistics, was partnering with Jasper’s company, and that said all I needed to know and even more…He had already moved on… and it is humiliating to know that I chose such a manipulative, shameless bastard over my family.Five years ago, I met Ethan in London while on an internship business training program. He worked for the same company as an intern, and it was quick for us to click. He naturally believed I came from an average family because that was the same thing I told everyone in the company. I didn’t want preferential treatment, so naturally, I extended that lie to Ethan, and when we eventually started dating, I wasn’t sure how to tell him the truth anymore.I remember that Thanksgiving period. I had gone home to visit my parents, hoping to let them know that I was seeing someone and that I was serious about him, but instead,

When I found the living room empty, I tiptoed up the stairs, hoping not to alert her that I was home.If I am lucky, I can pick up some fresh clothes and leave without her noticing I came back.I successfully made it to the bedroom, took a shower, packed an overnight bag, then quietly made my way downstairs again… that was when I bumped into her in the dining room, eating. She lifted her head, our eyes meeting for a few seconds before she quietly averted her gaze back to her food.Exhaling heavily, I dropped the overnight bag and joined her at the dining table. Dragging a chair out, I sat down and waited for her to serve me some of the soup she was having.Aurora remained silent, totally ignoring my presence.Frowning, I finally spoke up.

AURORADora sat on the bonnet of her car, watching me struggle with the stubborn lock on the store door, her arms folded tightly across her chest, and the disapproving look on her face telling me she was still unhappy about how late I had worked."I still can't believe you had to work this late on your birthday," she said, shaking her head.A small laugh escaped my lips. After finally locking the door, I gave it a firm tug to make sure it was secure before turning to face her."What?" I teased. "Did you make special plans for me or something?"Dora jumped down from the bonnet and walked toward the driver's side of the car."Not me," she replied flatly. "Your husband should have made plans."She opened the door and slid into the driver's seat. "I'm sure Mrs. Shane would rather you spend your birthday on a romantic date with your husband than spend the entire day helping customers figure out how to roast the perfect pork."I let out a soft giggle, hoping it would hide the ache growing i
