Aurora POV.
“You are mine!” his firm voice filled with assurance echoed in my head as he claimed my lips in a fiery kiss.
I was stunned for a second, i couldn't react almost like i was frozen but when Gem kicked again, immediately i pushed the mad stranger off me.
“What do you think you are doing?” I managed to utter while trying to catch my breath as my fingers found their way to my neck where he marked me!
He fucking marked me!
There was a bit of my blood on my neck as I withdrew my fingers, my brows settling into a frown as I raised my head meeting his eyes again.
“Who are you and how dare you…” Before I could complete my statement another voice interrupted me.
A tall man appeared beside the stranger with an imposing aura, from his clothing i could tell he was someone of utmost importance, one of those sick twisted people that derive pleasure from buying slaves.
My lips curled in disdain as i glared at him, but for some reason, in the presence of the man who just kissed me, his aura paled and then he bowed.
“How shall I take care of her King?”
Instantly, all the wheels in my head turned, take care of who? King? The man who just kissed me is a king of what exactly?
Where am i again? My eyes searched around and then they landed on the sign on the door, in fact that sign was all over but i have been so engrossed in my suffering and protesting that i didn't see it.
The Dark moon pack.
The biggest pack on the lands habiting all kinds of creatures, Lycans, werewolves like me, witches, sirens and rumors has it that they are few generations of vampires but they had only one King.
One ruthless and mateless King.
Immediately I staggered backwards as the realization dawned on me but before I could fall, he caught my hand pulling me to him.
“How about a ceremony Silva, my search is over” he replied with a warm smile on his face.
His search?
“Yes my King” The other man answered as he lifted his head briefly to look at me but it was for a quick second.
“Who is incharge of this place?” The man spoke up again.
“I will handle it, you should leave now, before the people starts to notice”
“Hmmm” he nodded looking around before his gaze landed on me and then he laced our hands together and a gush of wind enveloped us.
When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in that shabby institution with my lacy robe about to be sold, no. Instead I was on the balcony of a grand..palace.
In less than twenty four hours I have been kidnapped twice! And honestly I had no idea which was better, the fact that I was being marked or the fact that I was this close to being sold.
A wave of nausea hit me as I grabbed on the railings when someone spoke behind me.
“I’m sorry about that but you will get use to it”
Slowly, I turned towards the voice and then he came into my view, the same man the other referred to as king, he had this chilling presence with platinum blonde hair that contrasted sharply against his pale icy blue eyes that held so much warmth in them.
“Why.. Did you bring me here?” I muttered, lowering my gaze after taking him in.
“Cause you are my mate” he answered almost immediately as he grew closer to me.
“That's ridiculous!” I spat out. I was tired of these mind games the moon goddess was playing with me.
My first mate cost me the last shred of self respect I had, the second cost me the only thing of my mother I had left, also landed me in the dungeon and now this one? He was definitely going to cost me more, maybe my life who knows.
“Is it? Because I know you can feel the bond between us, so why aren't you accepting it my sweet dove?”He asked again.
“I don't know you” I defended.
“We have all the time in the world for you to know me, you need not to worry about that” He replied, playing with his fingers but at the same time not taking his eyes off me.
“I do not accept you and you marked me, you…”
“What is your name?” He questioned.
“Who are you?”
“Asher, your mate, and if you take one more step backwards you are going to fall, and it's going to be nasty” he answered, i looked over my shoulder and he was right.
“Please let me go” I begged, my hold tightening around the railings.
Then he froze, “why are you so scared of me?”
“I don't need a mate,” I uttered.
“You don't need me but you don't know how long i have waited for you, i have searched for you, i need you more than you can ever want me” He countered.
His confessions struck me and i couldn't speak, i opened my mouth to say something but no words came out.
“The moment i saw you, i knew within me that it was you and somehow you know this too, you recognize me and yet you wouldn’t admit this bond we share?” He added again.
“I cant…” I whispered, i couldn't bring myself to accept this bond, so many questions running through my mind, why him? Why now?
“And why is that so?”
Immediately I fell to my knees, folded my hands and bowed before him. “Please let me go, I don't want this,” I pleaded.
“You would rather stay in the slave institution than be with your mate? Is that how much you love the attention of other men?” He hurled at me.
“What?!” I gasped, my eyes widening in shock, “how…can you say that..?”
“You left me with no other option, you wouldn’t give me a reason to understand why you don't want to accept me” he added again, the warmth completely gone from his eyes.
“And that is because i’m not worthy of you, i’m a nobody, a lowly omega who doesn't deserve this” i replied placing my hand on my
neck where he bit me.
“Then let me worry about that” He said calmly taking me by surprise.
Aurora’s POVMonths later…“Hold on, I need to make you extra beautiful today," Mira chirped in excitement. She has been working on my face for a while now and despite my complaints, she wouldn't stop. “Mira…” "Yes, my Luna.” She chuckled. "We are having a lot of guests today and I want you to look your best.” She didn't stop there, she added, "No one is permitted to look more beautiful than you.” Rolling my eyes, I let out a low sigh. There was no point arguing as she wouldn't listen to me.It has been eight months since the ashes of Scarlet and Emma drifted through the palace gates and vanished into the wind. With they gone and the traitors who tried to topple Asher's reign, the world felt quieter now.It was not entirely peaceful, but the constant thought of danger that had once shadowed my thoughts had dulled. My days were no longer spent watching my back, I could breathe again. The Crescent Moon Pack which had been handed over to me by my father had been merged with the Dark
Reader’s POVBad news had a knack for spreading like a wild fire. It was no different from the case of Emma and Scarlet who had been arrested quietly. The Crescent Moon Pack soon learnt about the fate of their rulers. Everyone was talking about it but no one was bold enough to venture into the Dark Moon Pack. Except the elders who feared for their lives. By the next morning, the elders of Crescent Moon Pack had already arrived at Dark Moon Pack’s gates, their clothes disheveled from the hurried journey. They weren’t bothered with the dignity they usually glory in, their lives were at stake and only one person could hand their lives back to them. When Asher learnt of their presence, he agreed to meet with them promptly and the moment he stepped into the large hall, they all fell on their knees, pressing their trembling hands together.“Alpha Asher, please have mercy!” the eldest among them cried, his voice breaking under the weight of desperation. “We were threatened.” He continu
Aurora’s POVJake dying in front of me still sent cold chills running through my spines. His death also reminded me of my father's.Two people who I cherished died before my very eyes but I couldn't do anything. Holding the flashdrive firmly as if someone was going to snatch it from me, I watched as the guards carried Jake's corpse. My feet wanted to move on autopilot but Mira held me back.Just when I thought it was all over, I heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Snapping my head up, my eyes fell on Scarlet who was being pulled through the palace gates. She was flanked by two guards, her wrists were bound in heavy chains and her crimson gown was dragging across the dirty floor. Emma followed behind her. Just like her daughter, she was equally restrained but she didn't cower. She held up her chin like she was the public figure of the day. The moment Scarlet’s eyes fell on me, she snickered, rolled her eyes and then let out a huff. “You think you’ve won?” she yelled, her to
Aurora’s POVThe air inside the dining hall was heavy and thick with the scent of roasted meat and spiced wine.I was having a feast to celebrate. My lips twitched into a smile as I caressed my flat stomach.Since Asher told me I was carrying our baby, I couldn't think of anything else apart from the new life that was growing inside of me.I was so energetic this morning that instead of having breakfast in my room, I decided to eat in the dining hall for a change. “You're in a good mood today." Mira commented, pulling out my chair.“Thank you." I muttered, staring at the head of the table where Asher was supposed to be occupying. “Oh, about the King. He wouldn't be coming in for breakfast, the traitors are going to be executed today." Mira ratted out, eliciting a nod from me. “Good," I said to myself, picking up my cutlery. I didn't want to think about it but my mind drifted to Miller, Talen and Elder Jared who were going to be executed today. I felt no pity for them, not even a
Aurora's POV“Thank goodness you’re alive,” Mira rapped, rushing to my side.Numbed, I was looking around my room trying to make out which day and what time it was.Right now, I felt like I had just returned from space and thrust back into the world.“How long have I been out?" I asked, trying to move my feet but they felt heavy. When I looked down, they were swollen.“The physician said the swelling will reduce soon." She showed me an ointment she had been applying on it.“Thank you." I muttered, staring at the door. “I was poisoned, right?” I asked, shifting my gaze back to her. Mira went mute. She was going to scoot away but she wasn't quick enough as I reached out and grabbed her arm before she could even take a step."Who was it?” I had already prepared my mind to hear a familiar name and so when she said it was Scarlet, I wasn't surprised a bit.I was only mad at myself for letting my guard down.If only I had listened to Asher when he demanded she left immediately, I wouldn't
Asher's POV“The poisoning was linked to Scarlet," Palmer said, dropping the statement he said he was going to get in front of me.“What are you going to do with her? She is on seat right now with a Pack to lead. Is it going to be a war or an ambush?” "What are you going to do if you were in place?” I asked, studying him carefully. "First of all, I wouldn't be in your position. I would have killed her a long time ago.” Nodding, I fell back on my seat, pressing my lips into a thin line. It had been a week since I found out that he was my brother. Elder Hagan confirmed it after seeing the mark on his thigh.Accepting Hudson who now lived in the palace was through Palmer who promised to take responsibility if he went out of line again. “I will be outside, whistle if you need me and I will come running to your side," he said, walking towards the door with his hands tucked in his pockets.“Order her arrest. It should be discreet." “Okay." “We should go to the dungeon first." He shru
