LUCAS’ POV

The nurse told me the doctor wanted to see me, and my heart dropped immediately. Ever since my wife collapsed, fear had been sitting heavily in my chest like a stone. I followed the nurse down the hallway, my palms damp with sweat, my mind preparing itself for bad news.

Inside the office, the doctor motioned for me to sit. His face was calm, professional, but serious.

“Your wife collapsed as a result of shock,” he said. Those words pierced my heart. Shock. I knew exactly where that shock came from—emotional pain, stress, and the weight of secrets I had buried too deep.

Then his tone softened.

“But she is stable now,” he continued. “And there’s something else you should know.” He paused briefly, then smiled. “Congratulations. Your wife is three months pregnant.”

Pregnant.

The word echoed in my head like a bell that wouldn’t stop ringing. My chest tightened. A child. My child. Growing inside a woman I married for selfish reasons.

The doctor warned me sternly that she needed complete rest and peace of mind.

“If she experiences stress again, it could be dangerous for both her and the baby,” he said.

“I promise,” I replied quickly. “I’ll do everything right.”

But deep inside, I knew my life was far from right.

When I stepped out of the doctor’s office, my legs felt weak. I stood at a quiet corner of the hospital, my thoughts scattered.

How do I tell her she’s pregnant?

How do I face her when another woman is also carrying my child?

Because yes—Vanessa was pregnant too.

The irony burned.

I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice someone behind me until a hand touched my back. I flinched sharply and turned around.

Vanessa.

“What were you thinking about?” she asked angrily. “I’ve been calling you, Lucas. You didn’t answer until I touched you.”

“I just saw the doctor,” I said quietly.

Her eyes narrowed. “And?”

“My wife collapsed from shock,” I said. “But she’s okay now.” I hesitated. “She’s three months pregnant.”

Her face changed instantly—from shock to fury.

“So that’s it?” she snapped. “Now there are two pregnant women in your life.” Her voice dropped. “What about me, Lucas? What about my pregnancy?”

My chest tightened.

“What happens to me now?” she continued bitterly. “What happens to the plans we made? Don’t forget—you married her because I agreed. Because of her father’s properties. That inheritance was supposed to secure our future.”

Hearing it out loud felt disgusting.

“Vanessa,” I said slowly, “we’ve been together for a long time. I won’t deny that. But along the way, something changed.”

She laughed bitterly. “Changed because she’s pregnant?”

“No,” I replied firmly. “Changed because I finally saw the truth. My wife doesn’t deserve this betrayal. She is humble. She trusted me with everything she had. She is the kind of woman every man prays for.”

Vanessa’s eyes filled with rage.

“So now you’re choosing her?” she shouted. “Because she’s carrying your child?”

“I’m choosing to stop hurting her,” I said, my voice breaking. “She’s fragile. She’s pregnant. I can’t leave her in emotional pain again.”

“And what about me?” she screamed. “I’m pregnant too, Lucas! Am I not fragile?”

The words cut deep.

I closed my eyes briefly. “I will take responsibility,” I said. “I won’t abandon you or the child. I’ll support you financially. I’ll help you start something of your own.”

She stared at me in disbelief.

“So that’s all I am now?” she asked coldly. “A mistake you want to pay off?”

“That’s not what I mean—”

“If she is your wife,” Vanessa interrupted sharply, “then who am I to you? The woman you used? Or the woman you plan to silence with money?”

I had no answer.

“You better come back to your senses,” she warned, her voice shaking with anger and tears. “Because if you don’t, everyone will know the secret we’ve been hiding. They will know how you married her for her father’s property. They will know everything.”

She turned and walked away, her footsteps heavy with anger and pain.

I stood there, frozen.

Two pregnancies.

One built on deception.

One demanding responsibility.

Ahead of me was my wife—innocent, trusting, and carrying a child that deserved peace. Behind me was Vanessa—angry, pregnant, and holding the power to destroy everything.

For the first time in my life, I realized that greed doesn’t just steal wealth—it destroys lives.

And now, no matter what choice I made, someone was going to be broken.

Was redemption still possible… or had I already gone too far?

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter118- The Weight of Truth

(Daniel’s POV)There’s a dangerous kind of confidence that comes from thinking you understand everything.I had it.Up until today, I believed I had seen enough. The arrest, the statements, the little inconsistencies that didn’t quite align—they painted a picture I thought was complete. Not perfect, but clear enough to act on. Clear enough to believe justice was already within reach.I was wrong. The evidence we collected from Amaka didn’t just add to the case—it tore through everything I thought I knew and rebuilt it into something darker. Something more calculated. More deliberate. Now, sitting alone in my living room, the silence pressing against my ears, I could feel the shift. This wasn’t just a crime anymore. It was a plan. The video replayed in my head again, just like it had been doing since I left her house. I didn’t need a screen. I didn’t need confirmation. Every frame had already carved itself into my memory.Benson.Walking into Patrick’s house like he belonged there. No

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter 117- The Truth That Cannot Be Buried

(Daniel’s POV)For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. The world around me didn’t disappear—but it became distant, like everything had been pushed several steps away while I remained locked in one place… staring at the screen in my hand.Because what I was seeing—Was not something the mind accepts easily. Not at first. The video continued to play, but my brain lagged behind it, struggling to process the reality unfolding in front of me.Then it settled.Slowly.Painfully.And when it did—The weight of it hit me all at once.Benson.There was no mistake. No confusion. No shadow to hide behind. His face was clear.Uncovered.Bold.Like a man who believed he had nothing to fear.I leaned closer to the screen, my eyes narrowing as if that would somehow change what I was seeing. But it didn’t.It only made it worse. He was there.Standing inside Patrick’s house like he owned it.Not as a visitor. Not as someone sneaking around. But as someone with complete access.Complete control. And th

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter 116- The Edge of Truth

(Daniel’s POV)I took the risk.Even before I got there, I knew that was exactly what I was doing—walking straight into something I couldn’t fully predict. The kind of move that could either break a case wide open… or end everything before it even reached the courtroom.Amaka’s message had been too simple.Too precise.Just an address. No explanation. No context. No reassurance. And that silence—that deliberate lack of detail—felt heavier than anything she could have written.I didn’t come unprepared. Before leaving, I activated my live location, the secure channel I rarely used unless something felt truly off. Then I forwarded it to the office with a short message. If anything happens, trace this.I read it once. Then sent it.That alone told me the truth I didn’t want to admit—I wasn’t certain I would walk out of this clean.Still, I drove. The distance wasn’t far, but my mind refused to stay quiet. Thoughts came in waves, one after another, refusing to settle. What if it was a trap

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter 115- The Message

(Daniel’s POV)I tried Amaka’s number again. And again. And again. Each time, the same cold response—no connection. It wasn’t just that she wasn’t picking up. It felt deliberate. Like the line itself had been buried somewhere I couldn’t reach.By the fifth attempt, I lowered the phone slowly, staring at the screen as if it would suddenly change its mind and bring her voice through.Nothing.A tight feeling settled in my chest.Going to Patrick’s house wasn’t an option. Not now. Not with everything hanging by a thread. One wrong move, one wrong shadow in the wrong place—and Amaka could be dragged into something she might not escape from. And I couldn’t risk that. Not after everything. Not when Benson and Lucas were already circling like wounded predators, waiting for any sign of weakness.“No more investigation,” I muttered under my breath, repeating the decision I had forced myself to accept. “We meet in court.”Still… something didn’t sit right.Amaka wasn’t careless. If she had gone

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter 114- The Call That Shouldn’t Have Come

( Daniel’s POV)The approval came quietly. No announcement. No celebration. No dramatic moment to mark it.Just a document placed in my hand and a single confirmation that changed everything. The court had accepted the case. For a few seconds, I just stood there, staring at the file like it might say something more. Like there was a hidden message between the lines that only I could see.But there wasn’t.It was simple.Clear.Final.We had crossed the line.A slow breath left my chest.“So… this is it.”The words came out under my breath, almost like I didn’t want anyone else to hear them.Because once a case gets to this stage, it stops being just an investigation. It becomes a battle. And not the kind you fight in the dark anymore. This one happens in the open.In front of everyone.I dropped the file on my desk and leaned back in my chair, my eyes fixed on the ceiling.Summons would have been issued already.Lucas.Benson.Their names would be sitting on official documents by now,

  • UNFAITHFUL UNTILL THE END    Chapter 113- Eyes Everywhere

( Daniel’s POV)I didn’t remember much of the drive from the hospital to the station. The road stretched ahead of me, familiar yet distant, like I was moving through something heavier than air. My hands were steady on the wheel, but my mind wasn’t. It kept circling back to Ariana… to the machines beside her bed… to the silence that followed every question she couldn’t yet answer.By the time I pulled into the station compound, I had already buried those thoughts where they couldn’t interfere with what needed to be done next.Work.That was the only thing that made sense now.The moment I stepped into the building, I felt it—that shift in atmosphere. It wasn’t loud. No one said anything directly. But the way a few officers paused mid-conversation… the way eyes followed me just a second longer than usual… it told me everything. This case was no longer just another file on my desk. Before I could even settle in, a junior officer hurried toward me.“Sir… the boss asked to see you immediat

(Ariana’s POV) The pen felt heavier than my entire life. It rested in my trembling fingers, its tip hovering just above the paper, as if waiting for permission to destroy everything I had left. Lucas stood across from me, calm, confident, dressed in patience and lies. “Just sign here,” he said
