Talon scoffed, his eyes dancing with mockery as he looked Maya over once more.

His eyes raked her from head to toe, from her honey brown hair and oval face, to her body which was well accentuated in her low-cut black dress.

Maya felt the disgusting crawl of his gaze, making her almost shudder in disgust.

"It will make me filthy rich, you say?" He asked, in his huge voice which grated one's ears, "What makes you think I'm not rich enough already?"

Maya did not falter, "However rich you are, trust me, you're about to get even more richer, " She said, "I assure you, when Scar heard what I have to say and how you connected me to him, he'll be so pleased that he'd do anything you say."

"Scar is too much of an unpredictable crackhead for me to risk pleasing him or not pleasing him. I just want to stay out of his way," Talon said as he reached for his pipe in an ash tray on the glass topped table in front of him.

at first I was in love with this novel but ughrr the back and forth thing has really made me lose interest in the book
