Doctor's Orders: Part 1

The exam room was colder than it needed to be.

I sat on the edge of the paper-covered table in the standard blue gown, bare legs dangling, and tried not to look at the clock. The appointment was supposed to be routine—annual physical, blood pressure, the usual questions about stress and sleep. Nothing I hadn’t done before.

Dr. Harlan was late by six minutes.

When he finally stepped in, the air in the small room shifted. He was older than the last physician I’d seen here—early forties, maybe, with dark hair starting to silver at the temples and the kind of calm, precise presence that made people sit up straighter. The white coat sat well on his broad shoulders. He closed the door behind him with a quiet click and offered a polite smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“Ms. Cole. Sorry for the wait. Chart ran long on the last patient.”

“It’s fine.”

He washed his hands at the small sink, the sound of water filling the quiet, then dried them and turned to face me fully. His gaze moved over the gown, the exposed line of my collarbone, the bare stretch of my calves, before settling back on my face with professional neutrality.

“Any new concerns since last year?”

“No. Everything’s the same.”

“Good.” He picked up the tablet and scrolled. “Blood pressure first.”

I held out my arm. He wrapped the cuff around it, fingers brushing the inside of my elbow. The contact was brief and clinical. It still left a faint trail of awareness behind. The cuff tightened. We both watched the numbers climb and settle.

“One-eighteen over seventy-six. Normal.”

He made a note, then set the tablet aside. “Lie back for me. Standard exam.”

I lay back against the crinkling paper. The gown shifted higher on my thighs. I resisted the urge to tug it down. Dr. Harlan stepped closer, stethoscope in hand, and leaned over me. The metal disc was cold through the thin fabric when he pressed it to my chest.

“Deep breath.”

I breathed. His head was bent, listening, close enough that I caught the clean scent of soap and something darker underneath—cologne, maybe, or just his skin. His knuckles rested lightly against the upper curve of my breast as he moved the stethoscope. The touch was necessary. Professional. My body didn’t care about the distinction.

A slow, unwanted heat started low in my stomach.

He moved the stethoscope lower, then to the other side. Each repositioning brought another brush of his fingers. I stared at the ceiling tiles and tried to keep my breathing even. It wasn’t working. The warmth between my legs had begun to gather into something more specific, more embarrassing.

Dr. Harlan paused.

He didn’t lift his head right away. The stethoscope stayed in place a second longer than it needed to. When he finally straightened, his eyes met mine directly. There was no obvious change in his expression, but something behind it had sharpened.

“Heart rate’s a little elevated,” he said quietly. “Any anxiety about exams?”

“Not usually.”

“Mm.”

He set the stethoscope aside. “Sit up for me.”

I sat. The gown slipped off one shoulder. I left it. He stepped between my knees to check the glands under my jaw, fingers pressing gently along the sides of my neck. His body was close enough that the fabric of his trousers nearly brushed my bare knees. I could feel the heat coming off him.

My nipples tightened against the thin gown. There was no way to hide it.

Dr. Harlan’s gaze dropped for half a second—just long enough to notice—before returning to my face. His hands still framed my throat, thumbs resting near my pulse points. He had to feel how fast it was beating now.

“Any tenderness?” he asked. His voice had gone slightly lower.

“No.”

He nodded once, but didn’t step back immediately. His eyes stayed on mine, calm and assessing, while the silence in the room stretched. The paper under me crinkled when I shifted my weight. The small movement made me aware of how damp I had become between my thighs. The realization sent another unwelcome pulse of heat through me.

He noticed that too.

I saw it in the slight narrowing of his eyes, the way his attention flicked downward to where the gown had ridden up against my legs. A faint flush rose along my neck. I wanted the floor to open. I also wanted him to keep looking.

Dr. Harlan finally released my neck and took a half-step back. The professional distance returned, but it felt thinner than before.

“Lie back again,” he said. “Abdominal check, then we’ll be done.”

I lay down. He pressed carefully along my stomach with the flat of his hand, moving lower in measured increments. When he reached the area just above the line of my pubic bone, the pressure was firm and clinical. My muscles jumped under his palm anyway. A soft, involuntary breath left me.

His hand stilled.

The room felt much smaller.

Dr. Harlan’s voice, when it came, was measured and quiet.

“You’re reacting to the exam.”

It wasn’t phrased as a question.

Heat flooded my face. “I’m sorry. I don’t know why—”

“Don’t apologize.” He kept his hand exactly where it was, warm and steady through the gown. “It’s more common than patients think. The body doesn’t always wait for permission.”

I stared at the ceiling, pulse thudding between my legs now, impossible to ignore. His fingers shifted a fraction lower, still within the bounds of a normal exam, and the small movement sent a sharp spark of sensation through me. My thighs tensed.

He saw that as well.

For a long moment neither of us spoke. The only sound was the low hum of the fluorescent light and my own uneven breathing. Dr. Harlan’s hand remained on my lower abdomen, not moving, simply resting there with a weight that felt heavier than it should have.

Then he lifted it, slowly, and stepped back.

“You can sit up.”

I sat up, gown clutched loosely closed, face still burning. He made a few notes on the tablet without looking at me. When he finished, he set it down and met my eyes again. The calm professional mask was back in place, but something darker sat just underneath it now.

“Everything looks normal,” he said. “I’ll have the desk schedule your labs. Unless there’s anything else you’d like to discuss.”

The way he said anything else left a door slightly open.

I should have shaken my head. Taken the dismissal. Walked out of the room and pretended my body hadn’t just betrayed me in front of a man who was supposed to be nothing more than my doctor.

Instead I heard myself ask, voice quieter than I intended, “Is there a way to… make the next exam less uncomfortable?”

Dr. Harlan studied me for a moment. The corner of his mouth lifted in something that wasn’t quite a smile.

“There are ways,” he said. “If a patient prefers a more thorough approach, that can be arranged. It would require a longer appointment. And privacy.”

The word privacy landed low in my stomach.

“I see.”

“Think about it.” He moved to the door and rested his hand on the handle. “My schedule has openings next week if you’d like to follow up. The desk can book it as an extended consult.”

He opened the door. The brighter light of the hallway spilled in. The ordinary sounds of the clinic—phones, voices, footsteps—rushed back like a reminder of where we were.

“Get dressed, Ms. Cole,” he said, tone once again perfectly even. “I’ll see you at the desk on your way out.”

Then he left, closing the door behind him with the same quiet click as before.

I sat on the edge of the exam table in the empty room, gown open, thighs pressed together against the unmistakable wetness that had gathered there, and already knew I was going to book the follow-up.

And I already knew it wouldn’t be for anything the insurance forms would recognize.

I booked the same hotel thirty-two days later. Same floor. Same request at the front desk for a quiet room toward the end of the hall. When the clerk slid the key card across the counter I almost asked for 614 on purpose, then stopped myself. The number didn’t matter. The unlocked door would do the work. I rode the elevator alone, found my assigned room, and stepped inside. The layout was identical—bed against the wall, desk near the window, bathroom with the same glass shower stall. I set my bag down, removed every piece of clothing, and left the pile on the chair. Then I unlocked the door, left it open two inches, and sat on the edge of the bed to wait. Forty minutes passed. Footsteps stopped outside. The door pushed open. Noah stood in the threshold the same way I had the first time—travel bag over one shoulder, dark jeans, a button-down with the sleeves rolled. He took in the open door, the empty hallway behind him, and the fact of me sitting naked on the bed. The corner of hi

We didn’t make it to the bed right away. I stood in the middle of the hotel room with the towel wrapped loosely around me while Noah dried off. Water still beaded along his shoulders. His cock hung heavy between his thighs, slick from the shower and from me. The wrong-key mistake had already become something else entirely, and both of us knew it. He dropped his towel and crossed the space between us. One hand tugged mine open and let it fall. The cool air of the room tightened my nipples at once. Noah looked at me for a long second—bare, still wet between the legs with his come, standing in a stranger’s room like I belonged there—then backed me toward the wide window. The glass was cold against my back. City lights blurred through the sheer curtain. “Again,” he said. He lifted one of my thighs, hooked it over his hip, and pushed back into my cunt in a single thrust. I was still slick from the shower and from him. The stretch pulled a raw sound from my throat. Noah fucked me agains

I closed the distance. Three steps brought me to the bathroom threshold. Steam still hung in the air and clung to my clothes. Noah stood fully naked on the mat, water beading along his shoulders and chest, his cock now heavy and half-hard between his thighs. He watched me approach without moving to cover himself. The towel stayed on the floor where he had dropped it. “Last chance to turn around,” he said. “I’m not turning around.” Something satisfied moved through his expression. He reached out, took the strap of my duffel from my shoulder where it had started to slip again, and tossed the bag onto the carpet behind me. Then his hands settled on my waist, warm and damp from the shower, and pulled me the final inch into the bathroom. The tile was cool under my shoes. His body radiated heat. I could smell the hotel soap on his skin and the cleaner scent of water. My nipples had drawn tight against the inside of my bra; the friction of the fabric felt suddenly unbearable. Noah’s ey

The key card blinked green on the third try. I was tired, duffel bag heavy on one shoulder, the long train ride still sitting in my bones. The hallway of the hotel stretched quiet and identical in both directions—beige carpet, soft wall sconces, the low hum of the air system. Room 614. That was what the front desk had given me. I pushed the handle down and stepped inside. The room was already occupied. Steam drifted from the open bathroom door. The shower ran full force. A man’s clothes lay folded over the chair near the window—dark jeans, a gray button-down, a watch left on the desk beside a half-drunk bottle of water. The bed was untouched. A suitcase stood open on the luggage rack. I froze just past the threshold, the door still open behind me. “Hello?” My voice came out thinner than I intended. The shower continued. No answer. I should have backed out immediately, checked the number again, returned to the front desk. Instead I took another step inside and let the door swing

Morning light cut through the living room blinds earlier than I wanted. I woke stiff on the sectional, the throw blanket twisted around my legs. Mia was already up and moving in the kitchen—cabinet doors, the coffee grinder, ordinary sounds that felt too loud. The cushion under me still held a faint scent of sex and whiskey. My panties were stiff with the dried evidence of the night before. Every small shift sent a dull reminder through my cunt of how hard he had fucked me while his daughter slept a few feet away. I sat up and fixed my tank top. Mr. Hale was nowhere in sight. Mia appeared in the doorway with two mugs. “You’re awake. Dad’s in the shower. He said he’d drive you home after coffee so you don’t have to wait for the bus.” “Okay.” She handed me a mug and dropped onto the opposite end of the couch like nothing in the room had changed. I drank the coffee too fast and listened to the water running upstairs. The sound of it made my skin warm all over again. I kept my thigh

His fingers worked inside me in steady strokes while Mia slept only a few feet away. I kept my face pressed to his shoulder to muffle the sounds I couldn’t hold back. Mr. Hale’s thumb rubbed tight circles over my clit. The wet noise of his fingers moving in my cunt felt too loud in the quiet living room. Every time Mia shifted under her blanket my whole body tensed, but she only mumbled and settled again. “Look at me,” he whispered. I lifted my head. His eyes were dark and heavy with the same need that had me shaking against his hand. He watched my face while he curled his fingers and pressed harder against the sensitive spot inside me. The pressure built fast. My thighs trembled. I bit down on my own lip to stay silent as the pleasure coiled tighter. “Come,” he said, barely audible. “Do it quietly.” The order broke me. My cunt clenched around his fingers in hard pulses while I shook against him, a raw sound trapped in my throat. He worked me through every wave, slowing only when
