VANESSA'S POV (continues )

    Emily woke up with a pounding headache so i gave her some pain killers earlier to subside the pain and she feels a bit better now, like she said 

"Good news, the headache's gone but i still feel a little hungover" 

"Serves you right you know, seriously who gets hungover on their first day of school?" I frankly asked

"Well since it was a freshers party, I'm gonna guess 80 percent of freshers would be like me today" Emily said with some kind of Victory tone 

"Nope, you're wrong not everyone went to the party..."

"Hence my 80 percent, the other 20 percent didn't go" She stood her ground totally cutting me off

"Even at that, not everyone in that party was drunk as you were, come on mily, you still seem a little hungover you're sure you can go?" I asked for the hundred time 

"Pretty certain about it, now stop asking and let's go before we run late" she said and took her key

"Oh no you don't, I'm driving today and we'll get coffee on our way " she didn't protest to that and handed over her keys

"Okay, urrmm call me if you need anything" I said to her know our arrival into the school before we parted ways 

"Like I'm a child or what?" She asked hands on her hips

"Well stating the obvious, your mum presicely said i should watch over her little pumpkin"

"Oh cut the crap, she didn't say that, or do i look like a pumpkin to you?" Emily raged which was a bit funny and that got me laughing

"Well head safely to class bitch, don't miss your way"

"eewwwww you sound cringe" She joked and laughed to it 

"Don't wait up for me whenever you're done cause I'll go straight back home " She said and we departed 

   I got to our lecture hall not long after and saw some few others seated, some stood inside while the some few others hung around the block probably waiting for the lecturer, this is a new chapter for me, I hope i get the best outta it.

"Vanessa you're back!!!" I heard Emily exclaimed once i got into our apartment door 

"Yea, when did you get back" I furrowed my brows while asking 

"An hour ago, seems my department won't be a lot of stressful this semester cause we aren't too occupied according to the calendar" 

"Okay, well i do have classes but they won't be too much, my schedule is mostly free in the afternoon, morning classes are gonna be my death" I said and fell on the couch i was close to

"Well i was about bringing the part-time job conversation but you seem a ..." 

"No no no, bring it up" I interrupted her while i sat up 

"My mum called by the way, thought you should know" 

"What did she say?"

"She just asked we're fairing, if we're coping well and all of that" Emily said with a visible smile, she loves her mum so much

"Well mine didn't, think they'll be busy cussing at themselves i guess, not like it matters or anything, let's just talk on better issues" i said

"Right, so since you won't be preoccupied in the afternoon, we should look for one where we would have afternoon shifts " Emily suggested

"That's a good point, but because of the nature of course I'm studying, won't i be better off as an intern? I mean you know..." I shrugged 

"Cause you're an English major?" She asked

"Yea that's it" I answered

"Well you can try to apply but you know it wouldn't be that easy, you've got no experience and you don't really know anyone from any publishing company here in Pullman that could help you with the application" 

"Way to go Mily, you just took my entire hope down the drain" I lamented feeling down already

"But that doesn't mean you couldn't try" She tried reassuring but the deed had already been done 

"I know what you're tryna do, you just want me loosing hope so i could join you job hunting" I huffed 

"A míl Vanessa?" She spoke in Spanish this time and i couldn't understand

"Don't go all Spanish on me Emily, you know I'm right" I stood my ground

"OK fine, you're a little bit right but not fully, i would give you my full support still if you wanna try out any publishing company cause I'll always want what's best for you" She said again but it was touching this time

"Thank Bes, i really appreciate" I said and ended things with a side hug.

 "Now where's that food you're preparing, I'm fucking hungry"

"OMG the food" She said and dashed into the kitchen which left me with the presumption that it was still on fire 

EMILY'S POV 

 "Why didn't you yell me you're offering a course of mine?"

"Well i didn't know you were gonna offer general literature" I joked cause that's in line with her course

"You crazy pumpkin" Nessa said

"Seriously? Told you I'm not a pumpkin and you should quit calling me that" i asked quietly so i won't draw the attention of other students who sat waiting for the lecture

"Well your mum calls you her pumpkin and i think you're crazy, which is actually true BTW and that brought forth the name" Vanessa laughed after explaining, i just looked and smiled, glad i got a smile outta her, i know things aren't going smoothly at home so I'll be her support system and cheer her on 

"Man that lady wasn't nice at all " I lamented immediately after we left the class 

"Well at least we share a class together, even if it's a crazy one" Nessa tried staying positive.

We walked some few more steps when someone keys, car keys i guess fell right infront of Vanessa's feet and someone appeared from behind

"Oh I'm sorry, my key fell" the guy said without looking at our faces, bent down to pick it, stood up and was about saying something to Nessa but looked my direction and to my utmost surprise,it was the pizza guy from the other night

"You?" He said in some weird tone which made Nessa ask of he knew me 

"Of cause i do" He replied on my behalf

"You told me to piss off remember, when i just asked for your name" He said which got Vanessa surprised 

"When was that?" Nessa bud it 

"He was the guy who delivered our pizza that night" I said showing no atom of being sorry 

"Anyways, regardless of that fact, i wanted saying thank you for not kicking my keys, I'm logan btw and not a pizza guy" He said the last part louder directing to me i guess

"Vanessa and she's Emily and thanks for the pizza that night, we really needed it and it was already late" 

"Nahhh no problem, mind if we exchange contacts?" He said showing his phone to Vanessa who gave me a look before taking it and punching in her digits 

"Thank you, you're a lot free than her, see you around" he said that and left which i replied with a scoff 

"I never told him to piss off, he's just exaggerating" I said as soon as he left 

"He seems nice, was he the same guy at the party?" 

"Don't remember, did i say he was? Maybe i was hallucinating" I kept saying just to kill the conversation which worked 

    A few days later at noon, Nessa came up to me in the sitting room with her laptop in hand looking all frustrated 

"Babe wassup, you don't look too good"

"I don't feel too good either" She replied

"Shit!!n are you running temperature?" I asked concerned as i approached her

"No not that, school have been hectic and to top it all, i haven't heard from those publishing company which i applied to, arrrgghh" she frustratedly said 

"Babe you need to clear off your mind off that, I'm sure they'll turn up but in the mean time we gotta have some fun, today's Friday" I encouraged 

"Well speaking of fun, i got invited to a party, sorta get together i think"

"You're up for it right?this is the universe yelling that you should have fun, hope you accepted the invite?"

"Needed your approval first cause of the invitee "

"Why would you... Wait who's the invitee?" I asked suspiciously

"Logan" She answered sharply

"Seriously you're still talking with that dude?" I asked surprised

"Mily he's not h mm that bad, you should get to know him, don't worry let me give him a call that we'll be there, it would be fun, trust me"

"VANESSA!!!" I yelled her name which made her laugh.
