Daisy felt tears running down her face. "Why would David do that?"

"Because Austin ordered him to," the second man replied. "Austin needed the humans to break the peace treaty so he could start a war and take over more territory."

Daisy looked at the video again. The man in the video did look like someone she had seen in news reports about Austin's pack.

"Miss Johnson, Austin is not the hero everyone thinks he is," the first man said. "He's a murderer who killed your family to start a war."

Daisy felt anger building in her chest alongside her fear. "And you want me to help you get revenge on Austin?"

"We want you to help us get justice for Emma and Michael," the second man corrected. "Your little cousins deserved better than dying because of Austin's war plans."

Daisy thought about Emma and Michael. Emma had been eight years old and loved drawing pictures of horses. Michael had been six and always wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up.

"Miss Johnson, we need you to come with us," the first man said.Anna noticed that neither man was wearing a police badge. "Are you really police officers?"The second man smiled, but it was not a friendly smile. "Miss Johnson, we're with a special government agency that deals with werewolf problems."Anna felt very scared now. "I don't understand. I don't have anything to do with werewolves."The first man pulled out a folder and showed Anna some papers. "Miss Johnson, according to our records, you are the only living relative of the Johnson family. That makes you a very important witness."Anna looked at the papers. They had her full name, her address, and information about her uncle Robert's family."I still don't understand why you need me," Anna said nervously. The second man walked closer to Anna. "Miss Johnson, the werewolf who killed your uncle's family is still alive. We need your help to catch her.""How can I help catch a werewolf?" Anna asked. "I'm just a normal human teen

Ethan nodded. "Austin is right. Derek will try to force you to be his mate." Maya looked determined. "Then we'll have to outsmart him." Before anyone could argue, Sergeant Williams's radio crackled to life. "Sergeant Williams, this is Colonel Morrison. We have a new situation." Sergeant Williams answered the radio. "Yes, sir?" "We've been monitoring Derek's communications," Colonel Morrison said. "Derek just contacted Luna. They're planning to meet at the warehouse in thirty minutes." Austin felt hope. "That means we can catch both of them together." "There's more," Colonel Morrison continued. "Derek told Luna that he's bringing 'the human traitor' to the warehouse." Julie looked scared. "What human traitor?" Sergeant Williams asked Colonel Morrison the same question. "We think Derek kidnapped someone," Colonel Morrison replied. "Someone who has been helping werewolves. Derek is planning to execute them in front of Luna to prove his loyalty." Austin felt his stomach drop. "

Just as Austin was getting ready to leave for the warehouse, Ethan's phone rang. The caller ID showed "Beta Francisco" - not to be confused with the dead Marcus who had worked with Luna."I need to take this," Ethan said to the group. "It's my beta."Austin looked impatient. "Ethan, we don't have time for pack business right now.""This will be quick," Ethan promised as he answered the phone."Alpha Ethan," Francisco's voice was full of panic. "You need to come home right now. Our pack is in serious trouble."Ethan felt his heart skip a beat. "What happened, Marcus?""Someone destroyed our food warehouse," Francisco explained quickly. "They burned it to the ground with all our winter supplies inside. But that's not the worst part."Ethan looked at Austin and the others who were listening. "What's the worst part?""They poisoned our water supply," Francisco said with fear in his voice. "Twelve of our pack members are sick. The healers think someone put silver dust in our drinking water

  • UNWANTED TRUE LUNA    CHAPTER : HUMAN AND WEREWOLF

Twenty minutes earlier, at Austin's temporary pack camp, Alex had been walking around checking on the pack members when he noticed something strange. Several of the younger werewolves were lying on the ground looking very sick."Hey, are you okay?" Alex asked Tommy, a seventeen-year-old werewolf who was holding his stomach and breathing heavily."I don't feel good," Tommy replied weakly. "My whole body hurts, and I can't shift into my wolf form."Alex felt worried. "When did this start?""About an hour ago," Tommy said. "Right after we ate dinner."Alex looked around and saw that at least fifteen other pack members were showing the same symptoms. They were all young werewolves between the ages of sixteen and twenty-five."Sarah, come here," Alex called to one of the pack's healers.Sarah walked over quickly. She was an older woman who had been taking care of sick werewolves for thirty years."Alex, what's wrong?" Sarah asked."Look at these young ones," Alex said with concern. "They'r
