The Indifferent Teacher

As evening began and nightfall loomed in the distance, I sat and waited. I cleared my mind and then partitioned it. I sat in my mental room of magic in my mind and took a catalogue of all the information I had accumulated up until that point. After I felt everything was in order, I branched my concentration out to the outer rooms of my metaphysical house. I studied my thinking and resolved some of my mental walls. The others I gave plywood of thought and consideration. I tried my hardest to bring the quality of my internal mind “up to standard”.

I reeled myself back to consciousness after two hours of being in my subdued meditative state. I felt like I had made progress with the work I had put in. But as a precaution I began laboriously setting my mental barrier back into place. I had to be at the top of my game if I was going to take my magic any further.

I was doing my finishing stretches and breathing techniques when I got a firm knock on my door. I open
