The phone was still warm in her hand when a light knock sounded on the office door.

“Come in,” Leona called, setting the device down.

Dana stepped inside, a stack of papers tucked neatly in her arm and a sharp look on her face. She always had that air about her, like she’d read everything, calculated everything, and was only waiting for Leona to make the final strike.

“Perfect timing,” Leona said, smoothing the crease in her skirt as she sat straighter. “What do you have for me?”

Dana crossed the room, her heels quiet against the carpet, and placed the folder on Leona’s desk. “Something big,” she said simply, her tone carrying that weight she reserved for serious matters.

Leona’s brows arched slightly. “Go on.”

“It’s a foreign project,” Dana began, flipping open the folder and turning it toward her. Pages of reports, projections, and company logos spread across the desk. “A multinational group, Valente Global. They’ve announced they’re looking for one firm to handle their entry into C

  • Unbroken: His Ex Wife's Comeback    Pretender

The ride back to the office was quiet, except for the steady hum of the car engine. Leona sat in the back seat, her gaze fixed out the tinted window, though she wasn’t really seeing the streets rushing past. Her fingers drummed lightly against her thigh, restless, sharp, like her thoughts. She could still see Dorian’s face in her mind, those wide guilty eyes that had looked at her like she was still the woman he loved. A bitter smile tugged at her lips. Pretender. He had sat across from her with that heavy guilt on his face, but where was that guilt one year ago? Where was that pity when he walked into their own home, their home, with Selene at his side and that child clinging to his hand? He hadn’t cared then. Not even an atom of pity. Her nails pressed into her palm. But he’ll learn. He’ll regret every choice he made. Every lie. Every touch that wasn’t mine. The driver’s voice broke through her storm of thoughts. “We’ll be at the office in five minutes, ma’am.”Leona blinked, draggi

The afternoon light streamed through the tall glass windows of Leona’s office, painting the floor with soft golden lines. She sat at her desk, eyes locked on the screen in front of her, though she hadn’t read a single word of the document she’d been staring at for the last ten minutes. Her pen tapped softly against the table, a steady rhythm that betrayed the restlessness bubbling inside her.A knock came on the door. Without waiting, Dana stepped in, a slim folder pressed against her chest. “Ma’am.” she said, her voice calm and clipped, the way she always carried herself. “It’s almost time. Your meeting with Mr. Harrington at the restaurant is at three. I’ve already arranged for the driver to take you there.”Leona blinked out of her daze and straightened in her chair. She set the pen down slowly and reached for the folder Dana extended. “Right. Harrington.” Her voice was firm, though inside she still felt the heaviness pressing against her ribs.“Yes,” Dana replied with a small nod

  • Unbroken: His Ex Wife's Comeback    Just Thinking

Leona stayed with her father a little longer, letting his calm voice soothe the sharp edges of her thoughts. She laughed softly at one of his old stories, nodding when he spoke of business, but her smile never reached her eyes. When he finally leaned back in his chair and waved a hand gently, he said, “Go and rest now, Leona. You’ve had a long day. Tomorrow, we can talk about what comes next.”She stood, smoothing her hair. “Yes, Father. Thank you.”He gave her another small nod, his eyes softer than most people ever got to see. “Sleep well, dear.”“I will,” she whispered, even though she knew sleep would be the last thing that came.Leona left the study quietly, closing the heavy door behind her. Her footsteps echoed faintly against the hall as she made her way upstairs. The house felt larger than she remembered, like the walls stretched a little wider in her absence. Or maybe it was just her heart that had shrunk, carrying too much pain inside.Butler James had already left her suit

  • Unbroken: His Ex Wife's Comeback    Calm Voice

The plane touched down in Crestfall City with a soft jolt, pulling Leona out of the daze she’d been in for most of the flight. She hadn’t slept much, her eyes burning as she blinked at the cabin lights. Her heart felt heavy, but there was no room to crumble now. Not here, not yet. She tugged her coat closer around her shoulders, trying to shield herself from the storm inside. When the plane doors opened, she pulled her small suitcase from the overhead compartment and walked out with the crowd. The noise of the airport hit her at once, people calling out, the shuffle of feet, the echo of rolling bags. Leona kept her head down and walked straight to the exit.As soon as she stepped outside, her eyes caught a man in a dark suit holding up a small white card with her name neatly written on it.The driver lowered the card when their eyes met and walked toward her. “Miss Leona?” His voice was polite, steady.Leona nodded, forcing a small smile. “Yes, that’s me.”He reached for her suitcase

  • Unbroken: His Ex Wife's Comeback    Trying To Be Strong

The night air stayed cold on her skin as she sat there under the streetlamp, hugging her knees. Her breath came in sharp pulls, and her chest rose and fell like she had run a race. For a long moment, she let herself cry. She let herself fall apart, because holding it in hurt even more. But slowly, she lifted her head. Her cheeks were wet, her lashes clumped from tears, but there was a fire still there in her eyes. A weak, flickering flame, but alive all the same.Leona wiped her face with the back of her hand and pushed herself up from the ground. Her knees wobbled, but she stood. She would not stay down. Not for them. Not for anyone. She pressed a hand against her stomach, the emptiness sharp, then lowered it again, her jaw tight. “No more,” she whispered to herself. “They won’t see me broken. Not again.”Behind her, the Private investigator shifted his weight, his voice low. “You need a ride? I can call someone.”Leona turned her head slowly, her hair sticking to her damp chee
