Author's POV:

Mia hadn't meant to react like that but she couldn't help it.

Jaxon was also surprised. “You’re far away from your house and you'll be late even if you leave now. I thought it was for the best.”

“Why would you do that without asking me? This is the thing with you guys. You keep doing stuff without asking me if I'm okay with it first. I know you mean well and you own the orphanage but this job means a lot to me. I don't want Jennifer thinking I don't care about it.” Mia explained.

“I'm sorry,” Jaxon replied. “I hadn't considered that. I didn't want you hurrying through the morning trying to get to work. I'm sorry.”

He hadn't genuinely considered her side and now she felt bad for going off on him like that. She could miss a day of work. He needed someone to care for him.

“I'm sorry for yelling,” Mia replied, rubbing her hand over her face. “I shouldn't have that no matter the circumstance.”

“And I shouldn't have made the call without your permission,” Jaxon said. “If you s

Author's POV:Mia's eyes widened and she glanced around to notice that a few people had heard him. They froze, their attention now on them. She wanted to hide. Mia didn't want them to find out about her so soon. She didn't think she was worthy of being the Alpha's mate.“Y-your mate?” Torak stuttered. “All three of you?”“Why do you look so shocked, Lord Torak?” Jace asked sweetly. “Mia is indeed our mate. The future Luna of this pack.”“My apologies,” Torak bowed. At Mia? “I didn't recognize you on time.”“It's fine. No one knows yet and I'd like to keep it that way for now,” Mia replied.Torak glanced around, taking note of the people who were around. “Very well, Luna.”“I'm not your Luna yet.” Mia reminded him before Jackson gestured to go. She nodded by head in greeting to him and followed the guys to their office. When the door closed behind them and they took their seats, she let out a breath and closed her eyes.“We're sorry we sprung that on you, Mia. We should have asked if y

Author's POV:“What's the agenda for the meeting, Nadia?” Jackson asked. Nadia held her clipboard and looked at the notes she had taken specifically for this. “Rogue members want to join the pack. The truce with Gemstone pack is on the verge, the supply route is being hijacked by other wolves and we're behind on what we promised.”“And what is the Alpha of Gemstone saying?” Jackson asked, raising his brows. He was holding back from what he wanted to say. Their pack had mercy on Gemstone and to end the fight years ago, they had agreed to swap supplies. Who were they to think that they could threaten the pack?“Well, he said he's going to put an end to the truce if we don't do something about it,” Nadia said, a little timidly.Murmurs rose around the table. The council members talked amongst themselves and they only stopped when Jaxon raised his hands.“The rogue wolves are going to have to go through a probation period to prove their loyalty to this pack. Now concerning the supply rout

Author's POV:Mia was in a panic. She hadn't done anything wrong but she wondered how they would feel if they found out that she'd slept over at Jaxon's house.“What do I do?” Mia whispered and yelled.Jaxon shrugged but she could tell that he was thinking the same thing. He was probably thinking of a solution. The door opened and Jackson and Jace were talking about something. “Yo, Jaxon, Jackson thinks that—” Jace stopped talking as he spotted Mia and Jaxon frozen in place near the sink. “Mia?”Jackson looked up from his phone, surprised. He looked at Jaxon and then Mia. “How did you get her?” He asked.“Um…” Mia let out, not knowing how to begin. “I just…”“Was that why you called me? You were worried about Jaxon?” Jace asked, the hint of a smile ghosting his lips.“She called you?” Jackson asked, glancing at Jace.“Yeah, she was worried about him, with the whole wolfsbane poisoning so I told her Felicity took away his phone and he was home.”Jackson narrowed his eyes. “And how did

Author's POV:Her heart raced.“What are you doing?” She asked, swallowing.Jaxon said nothing. He wrapped his hand around her and leaned close until every inch of her stiff body was touching his. “You're warm.”He snuggled even closer. Mia tried to free herself and stand up but, he held on to her tightly. “Stay,” he whispered, his breath hot against her neck. “Even if it's until I fall asleep.”Mia thought about it for a few seconds. Her cheek was growing hot and her heart was still racing. She had never been in an intimate position like this with anyone but her ex-husband Hudson. It was still strange and she felt like she was cheating.'You’re not cheating. He's your mate,’ Cassey all but growled.“Unless you want to leave…” Jaxon said, trailing off, waiting for her answer.“I'll stay until you fall asleep,” she finally agreed. Jaxon moved over so that she could comfortably lay down. Mia took off the slippers she had on and climbed into bed next to him.Jaxon still wrapped his hands

Author's POV;But as quickly as he had grabbed her, he let her go, her intoxicating smell filling his senses. “Mia?” he called, his voice thick with unuse and surprise. She exhaled loudly, falling back on her behind. “Yeah.” She let out, massaging her neck. Thankfully, his claws had not drawn blood.“What are you doing here?” He asked, trying to sit up but Mia pressed her hands against his bare shoulders to stop him.“Stay,” she said, letting go of her initial shock. “you're burning up.”“I'm fine,” he argued, taking her hands off of him.“You're stubborn,” Mia complained, pressing down on his shoulders again. She knew that if he wanted, he could stand up and she wouldn't be able to stop him.Maybe it was the fever or something else, but he laid back down. “Where can I get a small towel and a bowl?” She asked. As if spelled, Jaxon replied, “The closet and the kitchen.” Mia stood to her feet and got a towel from the closet. “What are you doing?”“You’re burning up,” she replied, as if

Mia's POV:I kept staring at my phone at work. It had already been a week since my date with Jackson and then Jace, and Jaxon had yet to give me a text.‘Why do you care about that so much?’ Cassey asked.“I don't!” I argued but it was useless. The truth was it made me anxious. I was also looking forward to spending some time with him. He'd found me at that cottage that day and I wanted to have a moment to tell him when it's just the two of us.But, he wasn't giving me that opportunity.“What has your knickers twisted?” Melanie asked as she walked into the break room. She walked over to the doughnuts and grabbed the one coated in strawberry-flavored cream.“It's Jaxon,” I said. That got her attention.“What about him?” She asked, grabbing a cup to fill with coffee.“That's the problem. Nothing. He's radio silent. No texts on the group chat. Nothing.” I said.“So? I don't see the problem. People do it all the time. I'm sure he's fine.” She told me to drink from her cup and then take a

Author's POV:Mia looked at Jace. “Why?” She asked. She suspected that she already knew the answer. Thankfully, Jace was honest enough to tell her the truth.“You've never been there, have you?” He asked, glancing at her for a moment before returning his gaze to the road. For someone who drove a sports car and was playful, he was paying a lot of attention to the road.“How did you know?” Mia asked, and then she sighed, “No, wait, let me guess, Melanie?”“I just wanted to take you out somewhere special,” Jace defended himself.“Well, have you tried just asking before?” She said, “Have you wondered whether I want to be asked? I know you're trying to surprise me but sometimes, I just think that you guys should ask me. Get to know me not find out about me.”Mia didn't know why she was explaining this to them. After all, you weren't supposed to explain how to be loved by others, right?Jace looked at her. “You just seem reluctant, is all. My brothers feel that you're closing yourself to us

Author's POV:For a moment, Mia didn't know how to react.Jaxon: what are you two on about? You're blowing up my notifications.Mia keenly read his text again and again. What if they disagree on something about her or worse, fight? What would she do then? The three of them were her mates. But they were also separate people. They were bound to disagree. She decided not to worry about that. She would cross that bridge when she got there.A private message entered her phone. Jace: look out your window.Mia looked up from her phone confused and looked outside her window. There, was Jace, waving with a boyish smile on his face.Mia's eyes widened, “Jace!” I called.“Where?” Melanie asked, looking around. She spotted him outside the window and gasped. “He's here. And I look like a sewer rat.”She abandoned the rest of her cereal and ran to her room. Mia dropped her bowl on the table and stood to her feet, going to get the door.“Hey,” Jace said, holding out a bouquet of sunflowers. “These a
