“Father?” She tilted her head to the side watching him roar in laughter.
“Yes, that’s true. I’m old enough to be your father.” He ruffled her hair, still laughing. “Take a rest, tomorrow, your new IDs with your new name will be delivered.” An easy-going smile was still plastered on his lips but his eyes were no longer laughing. They were dead serious. And that’s when she realized that Briare is not an ordinary man.
She was rendered speechless and just nodded.
“Goodnight, Lina.” He gave her a finger wave as he stepped backward, away from her door. She returned his smile and quickly closed her door and ran further inside the room. The unfamiliar room felt suffocating that she hastily stripped her clothes and dropped herself naked on the huge bed.

Lina woke up screaming with a hoarse voice. It was her third time waking up and she made sure to get up from the bed this time by slapping her face. She didn’t want to fall back asleep. She was ready for a fight but she was surprised to see that his face was full of regrets.
