Turning Ceremony

When Eon said that the ceremony was about to start, her heart thumped in wild excitement. She kept on glancing over her shoulder as they climbed the bamboo staircase to the viewing deck. She didn’t notice the area when they were done in the open ground where the ceremony was about to happen.

The viewing deck was almost full when they arrived. She pulled Eon’s shirt and was about to complain why they wasted time staying down when they could climb up here and get the good seats.

“Hey, strangers!”

The familiar tone of Elyon stopped her from being annoyed at Eon. Elyon was at the end of the viewing area and her smile widened when she saw that there were a lot of vacant seats on that side. She pulled Eon’s arm to urge him to walk faster.

“The seat won’t go away and just to remind you that the ceremony won’t be as pretty as you think.”

The seriousness in Eon’s voice stopped her in her tracks. In
