Just a Little Girl
I stepped into the small convenience shop and began to gather a few bits and pieces to snack on. It was quite empty at this time of the morning and the overnight staff looked like they wished to be anywhere else except here. I had a summer job as a kid and knew that feeling so well. I hoped to be in and out quickly so that they could go back to spacing out, or stocking shelves, or whatever they had been doing before I entered.
I grabbed some crisps, a chocolate bar and a sandwich as well as a pack of sweets and mints to enjoy while walking around on our travels. I mulled over the drinks next when I felt a little tug to my arm. I glanced back, not expecting anyone else in the shop since I hadn't heard anyone come in at all.Before me, a young girl stood there beaming a smile up at me. As we arrived at the lake, the nymph sat at the edge and began to play with a few of the ducks and swans swimming there. Her feet dipped into the water, splashing with each little kick she did. The morning birds were chirping around us loudly. I hadn't moved from the ground where I had fallen after Eris had struck me down with the back of her hand. My gaze did not leave her form as she made her way back to me after having dealt with Lee. I was unsure what would happen next and I had nowhere I could run thanks to the surrounding lake. I assumed I was in a brightly lit white room, but where exactly, I couldn't guess. There didn't seem to be any windows or doors that I could see. My head was throbbing something fierce as I slowly came around. My eyes felt heavy and part of me just wanted to go back to sleep. I recalled hearing Rakesh but now I was wondering if it had all been a strange dream. My arms and legs felt rather numb, as though I had been sleeping awkwardly and the blood had been cut from circulating correctly. I tried to reposition myself but found myself unable to do more than wiggle."Looks like you're coming around," a voice sounded out not far from where I was. I asked woozily yet still able to make some sort of joke despite what I could only assume was not the best of situations I had found myself in. It felt like hours had passed by the time I woke up again. I had no other strange dreams and DJay had been rather kind during our little chats and had made sure that I was well taken care of and anything I needed was offered to me during my containment. Of course, I wanted to see my parents, but I could do nothing but wait for Eris.Finally, she returned to where I was contained and with a low whisper, she began to speak with DJay. Once the tale was complete, Eris and DJay shared a look between them before looking back at me. Eris leaned casually back into the couch and folded her arms over her chest though, unlike her usual expression, she seemed more thoughtful this time."So..." I rubbed the back of my neck again, as I tried to softly encourage someone to say something.Eris finally spoke up, "while Rakesh is not wrong, I did kill many other families, but he is not as innocent as he claims either. We both killed many of our own kind, but it was because they wished to harm us first. Though I doubt he even remembers everything. He has lost a lot of his memories and powers, so of course, he would see me as doing him wrong." She pinched the bridge of her nose.I blinked at her. Another elevator ride later, we arrived in an area of this place that seemed to be set aside as some kind of hospital. There were a couple of people here, though many of them were young. The nurses looking after them offered the three of us a polite nod of their head but otherwise, they seemed busy with their jobs. At the end of the corridor, a large set of doors stood.Two guards stood on either side of the doors, one a buff man and the other an intimidating woman. Noticing Eris, they offered a polite nod and unlocked the doors to allow us entrance. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I could see both my parents laying down on beds. They were unconscious and connected to several tubes and things.I rushed up to them and looked at them with worry. They were breathing, so I knew they were alive. It seemed they were mostly well taken care of, though after being gone for so long, it did seem like they had gotten smaller. I tried to put it down to me having grown up

The next hour or two, Eris seemed happy enough to leave me and DJay alone as long as we stayed on the floor that we were currently residing on, that being the area where the kitchen, lounge and recreational things I could do to pass the time. I had asked if I could finally be allowed to reconnect with Rakesh, but Eris rejected my request. She wasn't quite trusting of me yet it seemed. I couldn't blame her, but keeping my bond broken from Rakesh this long was making me feel awful. I could only imagine how he was feeling.DJay and I were playing some multiplayer games on one of the gaming consoles they had in one of the rooms and so far he had won the majority of the games. I wasn't too much of a gamer, but I was rather competitive so I refused to relent. We had managed to end up with a small gathering who had been curious about me but still too nervous to get close. Having DJay as my guardian seemed to give them a bit of encouragement
