Chapter 9 - Quits 2.0

AFTER CLASS, Yohan headed to the convenience store near their school after class.

"Hey, Yohan!" Bem-Bem waved at him while munching on his sandwich. "I heard something spicy went down between you and that gorgeous girl. Is it true?" He wiggled his eyebrows mischievously.

Yohan's expression immediately turned sour, and he smacked Bem-Bem on the cheek with his sandwich. "Shut up and eat your food."

Gino stepped in between them. "Come on, man, tell us the spicy deets."

Yohan remained silent, continuing to munch on his sandwich.

"Did you guys really kiss?"

Both Gino and Bem-Bem grinned.

"You know our boy got some unlimited rizz."

Yohan stopped eating and shot a frustrated look at Gino. "Why do you keep bombarding me with questions when you're already convinced with your shit?"

"We're just looking out for you, bro. That girl seems like trouble. You know the school's been trying to kick you out for ages. But because of your tight connection with the SIBS President, nobody can touch you."

"Then why the hell are you so concerned now?"

"There have been recent rumors circulating. They say there's a new member in SIBS. A college student who operates in secret. Many claim that he's on the same level as you when it comes to fighting skills."

"And there's talk within SIBS that they're considering recruiting him for internal operations," Gino added with a serious tone, but Yohan couldn't help but burst into laughter at their words.

"And you both think he can replace me?"

"Of course not," Gino clarified. "But did you know he's flying to Macau for the Arena match?"

Yohan abruptly stopped eating his sandwich.

"Just think about it, man... If he wasn't strong, why the hell would the SIBS President include him in the match lineup?"

He remained silent for a moment, deep in thought, but his train of thought was interrupted by his ringing cellphone. He swiftly pulled it out of his pocket and answered the call.

"Yes, sir?"

"Drop by the office today."

"Sure, I'll be there."

"Good, I want you to meet someone, so make sure to come here before going home."

"Yes, sir." He hung up the phone and gathered his belongings from the table.

"We're leaving already?" Gino asked.

"No, I'm heading back to SIBS."

They quickly exited the convenience store without even finishing their sandwiches. But to their surprise, Selene was waiting by the door.

"Can we talk?"

Yohan led her onto an empty parking lot. "I'm busy. What do you want?" Yohan asked impatiently.

"Tell me, is it because you overheard our conversation yesterday that you're doing all of this?"

Yohan glared at her with such disdain. "I heard everything. Anything else to say?"

"So, you're angry because you're jealous, right?"

Yohan couldn't help but release a deep sigh. "Everything I said earlier in the classroom is true. If there's anything that isn't, it's you," he said firmly before turning his back on Selene.

"How dare you, turn your back at me?" Selene shouted. "Not someone like you can ruin my reputation in school. I worked so hard for this name. Come to think of it..." She smirked. "Who would even bother to believe you? You're just a mere thug. Other than that, you're just a plain loser to me."

Yohan sighed in annoyance. He shook his head, turned away from Selene and walked away.

"Where are you going? We're not done yet!"

Yohan stopped in his tracks and turned to face her.

"I'm fucking done with you!"

He walked away, leaving Selene standing in silence in the parking lot.

Oh, great! Not even a single taxi I can catch. Should I walk home?

Zea glanced along the busy road, hoping to find an available ride. Suddenly, her cellphone vibrated in her pocket. She swiftly retrieved it and answered the call.

"Hello? Yes, I'm on my way. But there's no taxi available, so I'll just walk."

Zea started walking on the other side of the road, unaware that Yohan, Bem-Bem, and Gino were just a few meters ahead of her.

"Oh, isn't that Astrid?" Bem-Bem pointed out then smiled at Yohan who is now acting as if he didn't see or hear anything. He had already spotted her from a distance, but he had no intention of acknowledging her presence.

On the other hand, Zea was too occupied to notice them. Carrying a heavy bag on her back, a bunch of books in her left arm, and holding her phone with the other hand, totally engrossed in her phone conversation.

Yohan's gaze swiftly shifted when he noticed a speeding bike coming from the higher part of the road, heading towards Zea's direction.

This girl is going to get hit big time. he muttered to himself then smirked.

"Get out of the way! My brakes failed!" the cyclist shouted, trembling as he tightly gripped the handlebars. The cyclist honked repeatedly, but Zea couldn't hear it.

Bem-Bem and Gino were dumbfounded as they saw the bike speeding towards Zea. And Yohan had no intention of helping her out. But as he witnessed the bike getting closer, a twinge of guilt overcame him.

"Fuck!" Yohan ran quickly. He extended his arm towards her.

With her phone still pressed against her ear, Zea's eyes widened when she saw Yohan running toward her. He was about to grab her, but another hand swiftly wrapped around Zea's waist from behind, causing Yohan to almost lose his balance.

Bur due to Yohan's quick reflexes. He managed to land on his feet and regained his balance.

"Are you okay?" the guy asked.

Zea gazed up on him. He was against the sun's glare, making it difficult to see the man's face, but she wouldn't mistake this man's smooth voice and the intoxicating aroma of his manly scent. Ethan naugthily winked at her.

Yohan just stood there looking at the two of them.

"Hey bro, are you okay?" Bem-Bem asked.

"Of course I'm okay," Yohan replied, irritated.

Bem-Bem and Gino exchanged glances and smirked silently, observing Yohan's obvious annoyance at the handsome guy's sudden appearance. Yohan scanned him from head to toe. Wearing an AIC college uniform, tall, chiselled handsome face and well built physique. Yohan couldn't help but frown.

One look at this guy's smile... you can tell he's a fuckboy.

Yohan couldn't help but frown even more. He bent down and picked Zea's stuff that scattered to the ground.

"By the way, I'm Errol. Errol Suarez," Ethan said, giving Zea a sweet smile. Their gaze locked on each as if they were in a romantic movie scene, who just experienced love at first sight. And all that was missing was a sweet soundtrack. And then there was Yohan, third wheeling on their background who couldn't stop making faces at them while picking up the books.

Zea smiled back at Ethan and playfully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thanks... I'm Astr-"

"Here!" Yohan interrupted, forcefully handing Zea her books. "You're so such a clutz."

Zea was taken aback by his reaction. "Jeez... what's your problem?"

Ethan playfully smiled as he moved closer, as if he was about to hold her hands. Yohan could only watch, his gaze fixed on them, as Ethan took the books from her hands.

"Let me carry these for you," he said with a grin intending to annoy Yohan even more.

"Thanks, they're quite heavy..." Zea cutely said acting so weak and fragile.

Yohan almost died from cringing... If only this guy knew that she single-handedly took down almost half of his crew yesterday.

"Are you alright? You're not hurt?" Ethan flashed his concerned yet naughty smile. "Why don't I walk you home? It seems like you might struggle with all these things you're carrying."

Yohan's eyebrows almost knit together. "Come on, let's get out of here," he muttered in frustration. He turned around and walked away.

"Hey! Wait for us, bro!"

A huge grin crossed Ethan's face as he looked at Yohan walking away.

"Wait the hell up!" shouted the two.

"Where the fuck are you going?"

"To SIBS, where else?" replied Yohan. Isn't that on the other side of the street?" Gino asked with a sly smile.

Yohan looked around, only to realize that they were indeed on the wrong street. Bem-Bem couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"I'm already annoyed, don't add to it," he warned.

"Why are you getting so worked up?"

Yohan suddenly remembered what happened earlier, how he was about to snatch Zea to safety but that annoying jerk interrupted his moment.

"Are you getting mad because you weren't the hero earlier? Or are you getting mad because you like our new classmate?" Bem-Bem teased.

Yohan glared at them. "Mad is a fucking understatement. All that girl does is fucking piss me off."

"Well, you didn't seem pissed when she kissed you," Bem-Bem whispered teasingly.

Yohan was left speechless. But before he could respond, the two ran away before he went berserk.

"Hi, Dana," Yohan greeted the secretary as he entered the SIBS office.

"The president has been waiting for you inside."

Yohan wasted no time and made his way to the conference room. As he entered, his eyes immediately landed on another guy sitting in front of the president's desk.

"Yohan, I want to introduce you to someone..."

The guy stood up from his seat and turned to face Yohan.

"Hi!" Ethan greeted him with a sly smile.

Yohan froze in his spot upon seeing him again.

"I want you to meet Errol Suarez, the newest member of SIBS Elite. He's a college student," the President introduced.

Ethan extended his arm towards him. But he didnt move an inch. He just stares at him intensely.

I don't know... but I have a bad feeling about this guy. Yohan whispered to himself.

The president coughed, his voice cutting through the tension of their cold hard gazes. "You two should get along. Both of you will fly to Macau."
