Samantha hurried down the stairs as fast as she could. When she reached the bottom, Marcos and Andrew were already waiting in the living room. Adam and the others weren’t around.

“So, can we go to my place?” she asked, impatient.

“Yeah. It’s quiet over there. Just some guy named Pedro came looking for you,” Marcos said, standing up.

“I figured that might happen. By now, he’s probably freaking out.”

“Andrew’s coming with us. Since you need to return your friend’s car, he’ll drive a separate one

  • Unexpected Encounter   Start of the Negotiation

Simon was quite intrigued to know what had happened for her to react that way and asked her:“Why are you so afraid of him?”“That man is crazy. He’s been after me since the day I saved Adam’s life. That psycho even hurt my friend just to get to me. That’s why I’m asking you, Simon… please don’t let him know I’m here.” The request came out almost like a plea.He carefully considered what he had heard. Maybe that information could be used somehow, but first he would have to check what Oliver wanted with him.“Wait in the bedroom. I’ll let you know when he’s gone.”She didn’t think twice and quickly went to the bedroom. Simon signaled for the man to let Oliver in and spoke to himself about that information:“This is getting more and more interesting.”Samantha entered the bedroom and started looking for her belongings, especially her phone. She was worried about whether Simon would say anything about her being there. She thought about calling Adam but gave up on the idea. It was better

  • Unexpected Encounter   Friend or Enemy?

When he saw the image, Adam stiffened completely with rage. A thousand things raced through his mind. Everyone noticed that something had happened. Sophia went over to him, and Andrew, who already knew what was going on, also moved closer to support his brother. Once again, he didn’t tell Pedro anything.Right after the message, he received a call from the same number. He answered without saying a word, just listening.“Guten Morgen, mein Freund.”Adam clenched his jaw at the greeting. He already had a pretty good idea who it was and continued listening in silence.“I don’t know if you had my number saved or even if you know who’s speaking, but this is Simon Becker. I think I just ran into someone who belongs to you… or used to belong to you. I’m still not entirely sure about the situation.”“If you lay a finger on her, I’ll kill you.” The reply came out as a clear threat.“My goodness, such hostility. And making threats this early in the morning? If you’re worried that I might have h

  • Unexpected Encounter   Hangover

Those bodyguards started carrying Samantha to the car. The man still recommended that they be as careful as possible with her. As they headed toward the cars, a couple who were also walking on the beach passed by them and wanted to know what was going on.“Is the young lady okay? Did something happen to her?”“She’s just a little drunk and ended up falling in the water. Everything’s fine here.” He quickly brushed the couple off. They continued toward the cars. The couple started walking again but still glanced back a few times, as if they weren’t entirely convinced by that explanation.Alice arrived at the beach as fast as she could. She looked from one side to the other, trying to spot her. She ran toward the boardwalk but didn’t see any sign of Samantha anywhere. Then she passed a couple and, as discreetly as possible, asked them if they had seen her.“I’m not sure if it’s the girl you’re looking for, but some men carried a girl in that direction. They said she was drunk and fell in

  • Unexpected Encounter   The Beach

Alice got into the car and immediately called Adam. She needed to update him on Samantha’s location and let him know she was no longer there.“Sir, she’s not here anymore. The location is still showing this spot because the car is parked and she left the bracelet on the dashboard.”“What the hell! What’s going through Samantha’s head? Why would she take off that damn bracelet?” he asked, clearly irritated.“Probably because she doesn’t want us to find her. But I think I know where she went. There’s a beach we always used to go to after leaving this place. I’m heading there right now.”“Keep me updated. I want to know every single detail. Got it?”She confirmed and ended the call. Even though Adam had asked her to inform him of everything, Alice once again left out some information—like the fact that Samantha had accepted drinks from a strange guy.Alice knew Adam was extremely jealous and possessive. She chose to omit that detail because the whole mess had started over a misunderstand

  • Unexpected Encounter   Smartass

Samantha kept drinking. The bar owner continued keeping an eye on the two of them, noticing that the man had clear ulterior motives with her. He was paying for the drinks but barely touching his own—his obvious intention was to get her completely drunk.“Where’s that friend of yours who always used to come with you?” the owner started, trying to warn her.“She couldn’t make it today. She’s probably busy taking care of her new boss,” Samantha replied, bitter. The man didn’t understand what she was talking about, but he still tried to alert her:“Since none of your friends came with you, don’t you think it’s better to stop drinking? After all, there’s no one here to take you home.”“I can take her home,” the man next to her said. That was exactly what the bar owner was trying to prevent. The guy clearly wanted to take advantage of the fact that Samantha was already starting to get drunk.“I think it’s better if she takes a cab. Besides, I doubt you know where she lives. She’s not in any

  • Unexpected Encounter   Taking Some Space

After all that tension, Alice exchanged a look with Marcos and decided this was the best moment to tell them what had happened at the mall, even though she knew Adam was already on edge and the news could make things worse.“There’s something you need to know. The day we went to the mall, Samantha and Sabrina ran into each other. Sabrina made a point of telling her that you would take her back. Samantha insisted that I not say anything because she was afraid you’d get mad at me or one of the security guys.”Just as she had predicted, Adam got even more worked up after hearing the report.“You should have told me, regardless of her being your friend. You work for me, and you were supposed to let me know.”“She’s not the only one at fault here,” Sophia argued. His sister didn’t agree with the fact that he had started talking to Sabrina again and, on top of that, had kept it from his girlfriend. Adam gave her a sharp look, but he really didn’t have time to argue with his sister or try to

  • Unexpected Encounter   Suffocation

Adam floored the accelerator the moment he saw the scene. From the helicopter, Oliver’s men also witnessed what had happened and quickly landed on the asphalt. Two of them jumped out armed. The car carrying Adam and Caio skidded to a stop sideways across the lanes, at a safe distance. Caio got out

  • Unexpected Encounter   Strategic Moves

Samantha decided not to go down to the pool like Adam had suggested. She stayed in the room, reading the book and chatting with Pedro, who told her all about his dinner with Andrew—how sweet and attentive he had been.Close to lunchtime, Adam sent her a text letting her know the meeting was almost

  • Unexpected Encounter    Cupid’s Plan

Samantha was finishing packing her suitcase when she heard a knock at the door. A chill ran through her stomach, imagining it might be Adam.“Come in,” she said, mentally bracing herself. When the door opened, she felt relieved to see it was Sophia walking in.“I heard about the trip to Mexico. Alr

  • Unexpected Encounter    Travel Plans

Samantha understood that this was genuine care from him. She took a deep breath, holding his dark brown gaze while his warm hand still rested on her face.“Okay… I get that you did it for my own good,” she murmured, lowering her eyes for a moment as if the words were hard to say. “I’m just not used
