Chapter 3

*Swathi Pov*

“Where is Dad?” I asked returning from work to see Maha and Mom doing something near the dining area.

“He is in the study. Want to help with the preparation of sweets?” Mom asked, smiling and I stared at their hands to see them making Laddu’s.

“Eww! My nails will get dirty.” I replied, frowning and she nodded.

“Actually, the Laddu’s will get dirty due to the nail polish.” Maha pointed out not even looking up.

“What happened to you? Even in the morning you are talking like this.” I asked folding my hands.

“It is the truth!” she mumbled and I stared at her frowning.

“I will take one.” I said, moving my hand to eat it, but they both suddenly stared at me.

“Won’t your stomach get dirty?” Maha asked and I narrowed my eyes at her  before moving near her holding one sweet.

“Want to know?” I asked in anger tone and her eyes widened while she opened her mouth to say something.

However, I pushed the sweet inside her mouth before stepping back  in satisfaction. She ate it and gave me a questioning look.

“I was asking for you only. You know that I hate sweets.” I said, shrugging and she grinned.

“Shall I make sweets without sugar?” she asked and I twisted her ear.

“You got spoiled after you got the job. Anyway, it is a good thing because you should not let anyone walk over you.” I adviced.

“Di! Do you know where I got the job?” she asked and was about to continue standing up as it seems their work is finished but I waved her off.

“Don’t call me that and I don’t care where it is.” I replied and walked towards the study to get the work going.

“He called?” I asked the moment I step inside, but Dad showed his hand and seems like he is on a call.

“Yeah! I just need to talk to my daughter, Nakul.” Dad said and I immediately sat on the chair opposite to his with interest.

“Sure! We will let you know soon, Nakul.” Dad said and I smirked from my chair leaning back.

“That was your fiancé.” He said hanging up and I laughed.

“So, what is my fiancé saying?” I asked and he smirked.

“Asking what is the date we are planning for the wedding.” He replied and I let the satisfaction pass through me.

“Dad! I don’t want any big wedding. It should be simple and it would be better if the people present are as less as possible.” I stated and he nodded.

“When?” he asked and I glanced at the calendar.

“Within two weeks?” I asked and he gave a surprised look.

“That’s too soon.” He replied, but I shrugged.

“Look, we waited all these years. Why waste time now?” I asked, moving forward and he got lost in his thoughts.

“Isn’t he too excited?” he asked and we both burst out laughing.

“He turned out to be like any other man. All I had to do was use a sweet voice with sweet words and give a few expressions here and there. Boom! He is in my hands.” I replied, showing the fist to him.

“Maybe the company is the one that is driving him to this.” Dad said and I waved him off.

“Maybe! But he will not get even an inch of it.” I said and he nodded.

“It was the best thing I did by taking you as an owner of it and the clause being your husband will not get anything even after marriage. But he will never know about that.” He said and I nodded standing up.

“We have to plan more to break the news of wedding timing and the simplicity of it too.” I said and he nodded.

“We will call him now only.” Saying that he lifted the phone and dialed his number while I leaned on the window.

“Nakul! I just talked to my daughter and she said after two weeks she will have some extra work. So, it is better for the wedding before it. Are you okay with it?” he asked I held my breath while Dad stilled.

“Sure? Then the wedding also to be take place in a temple. You see, my daughter is really simple and doesn’t want unnecessary cost on the wedding.” He added and I placed a hand on my mouth to stop my laugh.

“Great! And no need to look after anything regarding arrangements. We will take care of it.” Saying that he hung up and I burst out laughing.

“Unnecessary cost?” I asked and he shrugged.

“We already spent enough on him. Those goons took too much money.” He replied.

“Alas! They didn’t hurt him much. Why that stupid guard was near him? I would have felt happy if this Nakul had got some wounds.” I said with my voice dripping with disappointment.

“Don’t worry! Now, after the marriage you can make as number of wounds as you can.” He said and I nodded.

“They will be not normal wounds Dad. He will lose everything. I will trap him in such a way that he will never be normal again. He will be alive, but he will be dead too. That is the wedding gift for my husband.” I said with excitement and while he gave a worried look.

“We can do something else.” He said, but I immediately gave him a narrowed look.

“I will not wait anymore. My Mom waited enough for the revenge. All these years he was hid by his father, but now he is there for us to take revenge.” I said moving near to his table.

“Sweety!” he mumbled, but I took the photo frame from the table.

“I will take the revenger from this culprit, Dad. I will and my Mom will get peace. Doesn’t she deserve it with the murderer being punished for his mistake?” I asked and he closed his eyes fuming.

“You told me all these years how you wish you could punish this Nakul when she died. Then why are trying to back away when it is in our hands?” I asked and he opened his eyes.

“Because I can’t see any harm coming on to you.” He replied but I waved him off.

“I don’t care! I will avenge for the death of Maheshwari Guptha.” I said, placing the photo frame of my Mom back on the table.

“Promise me that you will be careful.” He said and I nodded, smiling before walking out of the room feeling overwhelmed.

“Sweety! Are you okay?” Mom asked passing me in the living room.

“I am fine, Mom. My wedding will be within two weeks in a temple.” I replied and she gave a shocked expression.

“What? So soon? How will I prepare for anything?” she asked with a worried expression and I hugged her with my eyes closed.

“My wish will come true, Mom.” I replied and she hugged me.

“That’s all I want. I want both of my daughters always happy.” She said and I moved back to smile at her.

“I will be fine and don’t worry about Maha. She is too sweet not to be happy.” I said and she smiled.

“And her big sister will be there to protect her, right?” she asked, staring at me and while I stared back at her.

“Right?” she asked and I slowly nodded.

“Now, go and change. I will call for dinner soon.” She said and I nodded before walking towards the stairs to see Maha also climbing them, but her hands are still covered with the sweet mixture.

“Did anyone tell you that by applying it, your hands will be smooth?” I asked her jokingly, but she frowned before turning to stare at Mom.

“I don’t want dinner, Mom.” She said and Mom slowly nodded.

“Ate half of what you were doing?” I asked and Maha smiled.

“Yeah! Had too much.” Saying that she walked, climbed off while I frowned at her back before shrugging to myself.

I am too happy anticipating everything I wish will come true to think of anything else and she will be fine. If not Mom will help her! With that thought I walked to my room with a grin.

*James Pov*

“That’s too soon, Nakul.” I said and immediately regretted it.

“It is fine if you give me an opinion. And I think it is better because Grandpa will be here by that time.” He said and I frowned at him.

“You forgot? He thinks Gupthas are the reason for my Dad’s death.” He added.

“Right! He will kill you if you tell him you are going to marry this Miss Guptha.” I stated and he nodded.

“After the wedding he will be happy knowing that Maheshwari industries are ours.” He said and I sighed.

“Nothing will stop you then?” I asked and he nodded.

“We need not do anything also. They will be doing everything.” He replied and I smiled.

“For which this lazy person is too happy.” I said and he gave a mocking surprise.

“James joking with me?” he asked and I shook my head.

“No one is here.” I replied shrugging.

“You can do it with anyone near me. Anyway, I will go to work and you are staying back here.” He ordered.

“Why?” I asked him frowning.

“I heard it was you again for night duty.” He replied.

“So? I am not sleepy.” I said, but he shook his head.

“You are staying back and this it as your holiday.” Saying that he walked away to his car.

I pressed my Bluetooth ordering three men to be with him always. Nakul gave a glare before driving off while I stared at his car.

Like he suggested I took it as holiday but then who was I kidding because after an hour I got a call from the security near gate.

“Sir! There is a person walking near the house to and fro talking to someone, but there is no phone in their hands.” I immediately sat up and took my gun.

“If the person moves even a little away, then held him hostage.” Ordering I walked out of my house and started walking towards the door.

“Sir! She is moving away and we are moving to held her hostage.” Another said by the time I reached the gate.

“She?” I mumbled and walked out to see my men walking near the person.

“Stop!” I said and they immediately did along with her knowing she is not alone.

“Miss Guptha?” I asked, frowning while she stared at the men with wide eyes before glancing at me.

“Err… hello!” Maha replied and again stared at the men.

I gestured them to move away and they immediately did within seconds while I stared at her in complete confusion.

“Are you free?” she asked fidgeting with her hands while I just stood there frowning at her.

“Café? At the end of this road?” she asked again and I nodded before gesturing her to walk which she did calmly while I followed her.

“Not café! How about the park?” she asked suddenly stopping.

“Shall I bring a car?” I asked as it is little far from café.

“No! We will walk.” Saying that she continued to walk while I walked a little behind her frowning with confusion.

What is she doing here? And why does she want to talk to me? And why the hell some place and not here? The questions continued to enter my head but I made sure nothing is fishy while looking around every other minute.
