“How did you know the walk was going to be short for me?” I asked the girl when we stopped outside a large abandoned looking warehouse. The doors looked like they were once a blue color but now, they were a lot in hues of white dust and dark brown.

“Because I made it short of you.” I looked over my shoulder, looking for my dad. He wasn’t close to us. “Don’t worry they’ll be here in a bit. I think there is someone inside you’ll be more interested in seeing.”

“Lucian.” I said, huffing out a breath. She nodded and motioned for me to walk ahead of her.

The doors opened as soon as I was close enough, thankfully. I didn’t want to touch it even with a ten foot pole.

Warmth enveloped me the second I stepped foot inside the building. I didn’t understand how a place that looked like it was going to be cold from outside would be this warm. Then I looked up and it all made sense.
