132: More Wolves

“You know.” I said to dad. There was no uncertainty in my voice because I knew damn well what I was talking about.

I give him credit for not denying as he lifted his head in a nod. My mouth hangs open in shock and I turn in my seat to glare at him.

“What?!” The yell slips past my lips before I could control it. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

I asked incredulously. I was feeling a tightness in my chest. A feeling I could only describe as betrayal fills me. I couldn’t believe it.

Really, who does that? To their own child!

“I only found out recently.” Dad said in his defense but that wasn’t a good enough reason. And he knows that too because he adds. “And I know I should have told you, but what difference would it have made? You’re what, seven months along?”

He motioned pointedly to my obvious bump. I scoffed, rolling my eyes. I was still upset and I felt betrayed. I would think mum would keep something like this from me, her idea of protection. But dad? He trusts me. He always believes
