Chapter 3: Chapter Three: Elder Sister Thrown Out of the Tavern

"What are you learning? Learning to find more backups? My face isn't thick enough for that. I can't learn that."

Lena Roxanne was so disgusted by them that she couldn't eat anymore. She put down her bowl and got up, ready to return to her room.

"How dare you talk back! Your sister is so well-behaved, but you have no manners at all. Don't embarrass me when you go out!"

Everything Grace Roxanne did was good, but nothing Lena Roxanne did was right. It seemed as if she was just a pile of mud, destined to live in the swamp.

**Golden Pavilion**

"Aren't we supposed to look for President? Why are we here?"

Standing at the entrance of the most expensive restaurant in the city, Grace Roxanne asked Lin Sheng, who was behind her, with some confusion.

Lin Sheng, of course, couldn't tell her that he couldn't meet President either; he had only heard that President was dining here today and came to try his luck.

"Uh... President happened to invite me here for a discussion, so I brought you along."

Before Lena Roxanne could speak, the waiter who had led her to the private room hurried over to help.

"Are you two guests having trouble finding your private room? I can show you the way."

Lin Sheng glared at the meddling waiter and said haughtily, "Can't you see there's already a waitress here? If she serves us well, she won't be short of tips."

The waiter tried to explain, "This young lady..."

"Get lost, don't bother me!" Lin Sheng waved him away impatiently.

The waiter had no choice but to run upstairs.

So this was the daughter the Roxanne family adopted from the countryside. She was quite attractive.

She ground her white sneaker harder.

Grace Roxanne was stunned, and Lin Sheng shouted, "Shit! Where's the manager? I want to complain about her! Get her fired! You'll be fired!"

The next second, the manager and security guards rushed over.

Seeing the reinforcements, Lin Sheng became even more arrogant, lifting his chin high.

"It's this waitress who insulted me. I don't want to see her again. Get rid of her now!"

To his surprise, the manager had the security guards hold him and Grace Roxanne. The guards were tall and strong, and the two were lifted like chicks.

"Hey, hey, you've got the wrong people!"

Ignoring Lin Sheng's howls, the manager quickly approached Lena Roxanne and bowed slightly.

"I apologize, Miss Roxanne. It was our mistake, and we caused you distress."

It was a joke to think that this was one of President's guests. If she was bullied, his position as manager would be in jeopardy.

Grace Roxanne, seeing the manager's respect for Lena Roxanne, remembered why she was here and quickly explained.

"It was all a misunderstanding. She's my sister. Sister, you're not angry with me, are you?" Grace Roxanne smiled sweetly.

"Miss Roxanne, what should we do with these two?"

Hearing this, the manager was unsure how to proceed.

Lena Roxanne smiled at Grace Roxanne, then turned coldly, "I don't know these two. Do whatever you want with them."

"Lena Roxanne!" Grace Roxanne screamed.

The two were dragged out and thrown onto the street. Grace Roxanne stumbled and stepped in a pile of dog feces, feeling utterly disgusted.

Not long after Lena Roxanne returned to the private room, Emmanuel Wright arrived.

"Sorry, I had a last-minute meeting and arrived late."

Emmanuel Wright was dressed in a custom-made black suit, exuding a more austere and mature charm than before.

The dishes served were all Lena Roxanne's favorites, showing that he had truly taken her preferences to heart.

After the meal, Emmanuel Wright pushed a document toward Lena Roxanne, explaining his purpose.

"I had someone invest in the Roxanne family. This is the share transfer agreement. With these shares, the Roxanne family won't force you into arranged marriages anymore."

Lena Roxanne didn't respond, lost in thought.

"You don't like this? I don't know how to treat a girl well..."

Because of his illness, Emmanuel Wright had little experience with women and didn't know how to treat a girl, but he wanted Lena Roxanne to be happy.

"Uncle..."

The girl looked up, tears streaming down her face, her voice choked with emotion, tugging at his heartstrings.

"What's wrong? Don't cry."

Lena Roxanne sobbed, "Except for... Mother Director, no one has ever been as good to me as Uncle. I'm so touched!"

Even though she appeared strong, Lena Roxanne was just a newly adult girl who craved care and love.

Emmanuel Wright felt a mix of amusement and sympathy. He couldn't help but reach out and stroke her soft, dark hair. The sensation was new to him, but it felt nice.
