Annalyn’s POV

On my way to the restroom, I caught sight of the view outside and took a detour until I found myself on the ship’s balcony. The night air was cool against my skin, carrying with it the salty scent of the sea. The horizon stretched endlessly under a blanket of stars, and for a moment, I just closed my eyes and breathed it all in.

Two strong arms slid around my waist from behind, pulling me into a familiar warmth.

“Having fun?” Alex’s voice rumbled against my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

I smiled, leaning back slightly against his chest. “More than you know.”

He tightened his hold, resting his chin gently on my shoulder. “Good… because you deserve to be spoiled like this every day.”

My heart skipped. “You’re unbelievable sometimes, you know that?”

“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” His lips brushed the side of my neck, teasing and warm.

“A little of both.” I laughed softly, then sighed, reality creeping back in. “But… It's getting late, Alex. We should probabl

  • Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law   Chapter 77: Wrong Bed

Annalyn’s POVWarmth! That’s what I felt first, the delicious weight of security wrapped around me. My senses began to stir, and with them came the memory of last night. Alex slipping into my room like a thief, the lavender scent of him filling my space, his chest against my back as I drifted to sleep.A lazy smile curled at my lips. He’d probably be gone by now… we’d talked about this.. while I'm still figuring out what I feel about him, I had asked that we keep it on a low as I could make the environment more awkward if Nanny Flora finds out or, God forbid, Matt being new here might see him leaving my room in the morning and get the wrong idea of me.Still half-asleep, I turned to the other side of the bed, expecting cool sheets and the lingering essence of his warmth. But they weren’t cool. The bed was still warm, he was still in bed with me.I frowned, blinking myself fully awake as I sat up slightly and rubbed at my eyes. “You’ll surely be the death of me, Alex,” I muttered wit

  • Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law   Chapter 76: A moment of Peace

Annalyn’s POVAs soon as I laid eyes on Mrs Quinn, I froze.. the fury in her eyes were second to none I’d ever seen.. then I remembered Alex’s fingers were still intertwined in mine, Immediately I slipped my hand out of Alex’s grip. His head snapped toward me, brows pulling together as if I’d just broken some unspoken promise. I didn’t look back at him, couldn’t. My eyes were fixed on the floor as I avoided tge watchful eyes of his mother who still stood across the living room.I heard footsteps making me lift my head only to see Mrs Quinn stepping forward, silk nightgown swishing around her ankles, every move deliberate and dripping with judgment. Just behind her Marlene followed closely, smug as ever, arms folded, chin slightly lifted as if she owned the place.“What are you doing here, Mother?” Alex’s voice was calm, but the edge was there… sharp and close to anger.“I should be asking you that,” his mother snapped, pausing dramatically before pointing at me. “Where the hell did yo

  • Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law   Chapter 74: Dinner on the Sea

Annalyn’s POVI looped my hand into Alex’s, letting him guide me toward the ship. My eyes widened as soon as we stepped on board. Warm golden lights reflected off the water, casting ripples of soft glow across the deck. Elegant decorations hung from every corner, and a soft melody played in the distance, blending perfectly with the gentle sound of waves.“Alex…” I whispered, awe coating every word.He only smiled, squeezing my hand before leading me into a private dining cabin. A server dressed in immaculate white waited at the door with a bottle of wine already in hand.“Mr. & Mrs Quinn,” he greeted before ushering us in.Alex pulled out my chair like a gentleman, and I sat, trying and failing to keep the wide smile off my face. From across the table, Alex tilted his head, a small grin forming. “So, from one to ten, rate my romantic skills…”I chuckled. “Maybe a four.”“A four?” He pretended to frown, placing a hand over his chest. “That’s just mean, Anna. You’re mean.”Laughter bubb

Annalyn’s POV“…and they lived happily ever after.”I closed the book softly and looked down at Nolan. His tiny fingers were curled into the sheets, chest rising and falling as sleep claimed him faster than I expected. Alex and I had finally enrolled him and tomorrow was going to be his first day at school, and if there was one thing I wanted for him, it was a good night’s rest because unlike being home schooled, school can be hectic on its own.Leaning down, I brushed my lips across his forehead. “Goodnight, baby,” I whispered before turning out the light and quietly pulling the door shut behind me.The house was peaceful, too peaceful. As I descended the stairs.. I padded into the kitchen where the faint clatter of dishes told me Nanny Flora was still at work. She was rolling dough for tomorrow’s breakfast prep, humming something musical under her breath.“It’s getting late, Nanny. Why don’t you go rest? I’ll handle the rest from here.”She looked up at me with her warm, knowing ey

Annalyn’s POVI sat on the edge of my bed, fastening my sandals, when my phone buzzed on the dresser. I picked it up and smiled faintly at the name flashing on the screen…Mum!.If there was anyone I could talk to without the conversation turning into an Alex-centered one, it was her… or so I thought.“Hey, Mum,” I said, tucking the phone between my ear and shoulder as I reached for my handbag.“So…?” she asked, voice bubbling with excitement.I frowned. “So what, Mum?”“What was your answer to Mr. Quinn last night?” she pressed. “You said yes, right? Tell me you said yes!”My throat tightened, words catching. “Uh… no.”There was silence on the other end. Then her voice came back, softer this time, tinged with confusion. “Why? I thought you loved him too. You’ve always been quick to tell me how you feel about that man, Annalyn. So why say no now, when it’s finally happening?”I swallowed hard. How could I tell her that Alex had kissed me breathless, teased my body until I begged to be
