Chapter 82: Crossing the Line

Annalyn’s POV

The cab rocked slightly as it rolled over a pothole, but I barely noticed. My chest was tight, my jaw clenched.

I was so full of rage I could almost taste it… bitter and metallic on my tongue. Why was Alex suddenly changing? One moment he’s warm and present, and the next he’s cold and confrontational, like a stranger I never agreed to let back into my life.

This was exactly what I didn’t want.

I had made it clear from the beginning that I didn’t want things to get really awkward between us, especially not in front of Nolan. That kind of tension leaves invisible scars on a child’s heart, and I was determined to protect him from every scrap of it.

I turned to the window, trying to let the city blur past me. My mind drifted to Matt… had he already left? Was he offended by what happened earlier? I wasn’t sure why I even cared, but a tiny part of me hated the idea of anyone walking away with the wrong impression of me.

I was so lost in thought that I didn’t realize we’d reac

Annalyn’s POVHis lips were like fire against mine.A scorching, greedy heat that devoured every coherent thought I had left. The taste of him was intoxicating, each kiss pulling me deeper into a haze I couldn’t and didn’t want to escape. As the kiss deepened I felt Alex’s hands already roaming, starting from my hips and sliding up my sides until his palms cupped my perky breasts through the fabric of my dress. Then he squeezed. The squeeze was firm, deliberate, and the jolt of pleasure shot straight down between my thighs, making my pussy ache for his touch.“Mmm…Alex!!”A soft moan escaped me into his mouth, muffled yet needy, as his thumbs teased along the curve of my breasts. Then he squeezed the other one, and my knees nearly gave out.The next thing I knew, my back was pressing against the wall. His mouth still devoured mine as one of his hands slid over to my back, deft fingers finding my zipper. The sound of it sliding down was far too loud in my silent room, my breath catch

  • Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law   Chapter 81: “Watch Me”

Alex’s POVSix fucking calls and no answer.I stared at my phone like it had personally decided to betray me. I didn’t know what I felt at the moment… Was it anger? Fear? Or perhaps panicking?I knew for a fact that Anna would never leave her room without her phone, and she never ignored my calls… unless…Something was definitely wrong. Terribly wrong..I dialed one last time, this time telling myself if she didn’t pick up I’d simply call Nanny Flora… my mind was already running through scenarios I didn’t want to imagine. The phone rang once… twice… and then ended as usual..“Fuck…” I cursed out loudly.. running my hand through my hair I decided to call Nanny flora. But as soon as I picked my phone back it rang immediately and it was Anna.. I immediately picked up“Alex?”Her voice was casual, airy even.“Where are you? I’ve been calling you—” I asked with my voice laced with worry “I’m at Creekside with Matt—”That was all it took to set my mood from Panic to rage in seconds…. My j

Annalyn’s POV“This is going to be one hell of a hard nut to crack” I whispered as I messed up my hair in one sleek wave. The pile of documents on my desk looked like they’d staged a paper rebellion, spilling over the edges and half-covering the sleek silver laptop Alex had given me. Its screen glowed softly, Creekside University’s website open, tabs scattered from my frantic clicking… Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Mass Communication like I was desperately speed-dating my own future.Worst of all was that I didn’t have enough time to figure this out.. Alex had told me we’d finalize my enrollment by the end of the week. It sounded so official… so permanent. But right now, I couldn’t even decide which part of myself I wanted to commit to.A knock on the door broke through my haze. “Come in!” I called, eyes still on the screen. The door creaked open, and I turned thinking it was Nanny Flora who perhaps needed my help… but my surprise peaked the moment I saw another unexpected f

Annalyn’s POV“Come on baby, use your seat belt…” I instructed Nolan as I reached out to strap myself in as well. The moment the car rolled out of the driveway, I sensed it… an invisible shift in the air, subtle but there. It wasn’t Alex. It was Nolan. He hadn’t even responded to my instructions with his usual cheerful tone.I finally confirmed it the moment his favorite song floated through the speakers, a nursery rhyme he would never miss to sing at the top of his lungs, he didn’t even hum. His little hands fidgeted in his lap, his gaze fixed somewhere beyond the window.I smiled to myself, catching his reflection in the rearview mirror before glancing at Alex who sat quietly behind the wheel. I knew he’d noticed too because I met his eyes with his brows dipped ever so slightly.“Baby?” I called softly.Nolan’s head popped up, his wide brown eyes meeting mine.“Is something wrong?”He hesitated, nodding just once.I leaned a little closer, lowering my voice. “Hey, remember? No lies

Alex’s POVHer words landed like a hammer to my gut.“No… he didn’t molest me.”I froze. My breath caught halfway through my lungs. I’d just beaten my cousin black and blue over a misunderstanding.I stared at Anna… her eyes watery but steady and suddenly felt like the biggest fool on earth. My knuckles still burned from hitting Matt, but now it wasn’t anger coursing through me. It was a shame. What the hell had I done?I began pacing the room, the same way I always did when my brain refused to make sense of things. My hand raked through my hair as I tried to justify my actions. But how do you defend a blind punch?“Alex,” Anna’s soft voice came from behind me. “You’re gonna make me dizzy… and feel guilty too.”I turned around. She was sitting up now, wincing slightly as she shifted her leg.“You need to talk to your cousin,” she added, her voice kind but firm.“I should…” I stepped toward her, concern overriding my guilt. “Are you okay? I didn’t mean to hurt you.”“I’ll live,” she sa
