18 : Goodbye good times

2022-07-28 16:02:31Another week was gone and everything appeared fine, Yvonne was back in her office at Shell but worked from home more than she went to the office, well she had the right to since she was one of the most senior executives, but then one morning something happened and changed everything… forever.
As Yvonne woke up like every other day, she didn’t see Arnold by her side as usual, she went into the bathroom to clean up and came out then saw him sitting on the bed“Hey babe, where have you been?” she asked as she dried her hair“I saw something today” he said“What’s that?” she asked as she walked to the wardrobe“A vision”“Tell me about it” she said“Your friend Audrey is going to be killed today” Yvonne paused and turned“Is that a joke?”“No it isn’t”“Oh my God”“9:30 am today” he said and she looked at the time it was 9:00am“Oh my God, we have to hurry now, she’ll be at her boutique now” Yvonne said dressing up quickly“We cant save her” he said calmly“What? Why? You had the vision which means we have to save her”“It’s the consequence of her disobedience” he said“Don’t say that please, she’s my friend” Yvonne looked restless“I am sorry I can’t help you” he said to her surprise“Okay then, I will go save her, if anything happens to Audrey I will never forgive you” she left the room, he hesitates but then followed herYvonne drove fast“Don’t you think you are going a little too fast?” he appeared calm, not scared but worried not for himself but her. She was silent and at 9:20am she was close to Audrey’s boutique“Stop over there” he said and she stopped“We have to tell her” she said coming out“Go to Audrey, I will stop the girl” he said and Yvonne ran forward to Audrey’s boutique. Arnold saw the girl coming out of a building and heading to Audrey’s shop, he walked to the girl and followed behind her, she then brought out a gun and waited for Audrey to come out. Just then Audrey was coming out with a customer, Yvonne ran to her“Audrey!” Yvonne yelled but she didn’t“Audrey!” Audrey turned and was surprised to see Yvonne“Yvonne? What’s up?” she smiled but then noticed the scared expression on Yvonne’s face“What’s the problem?”“Somebody wants you dead” suddenly the lady with the gun appeared“Who are you” Audrey was shocked“Bitch you are going to hell” she cocked the gun, Audrey froze and before the lady could pull the trigger Arnold collected the gun quickly, she was surprised and quickly ran away Audrey was in shock as she stared at Arnold while stared back before he walked away, Yvonne helped her back into the Boutique, people had gathered to see while some persons chased the lady“What the hell happened out there?” Audrey still in shock, she never had a gun pointed her before“Thank you” Audrey said to Yvonne“Thank Arnold… He had the vision”“Who the hell wants me dead?” Audrey asked looking confused“I should call Maria” Yvonne said and dialed Maria’s line…“Honey it’s 9:30am” Maria said aloud from downstairs“”Yeah I know I’m coming” he replied and after awhile he came downstairs quickly with his tie in his hand and heading for the door“Honey what about the food?” she asked looking a little disappointed“I’m late baby” he said then walked back and kissed her then walked to the door“So you are going to just leave it; I took time to prepare it” she said and he stopped and walked back to her and sat down on the chair“I’m sorry baby” he said and took two slice of bread and little tea then stood up to leave“Wait” she said“Anything else?”“something’s missing” she said and collected his tie“Oh that” he said“Yes, let me help you” she said and put the tie around his neck and started knotting it, Max couldn’t resist but he kept looking at the time“Look like the managing Director that you are” she said and then her phone rang“Your phone” he said and she turned to her phone on the table and Max continued the knotting“Hello Yvonne” she said“Hey Maria, how are you?”“I’m Ok” she replied“Maria can you believe that Audrey almost got shot today”“What? How? Where?”“Right in front of her boutique… It’s a long story, just come over to her boutique later”“Ok dear no problem” Maria said“How is your husband?” Yvonne asked“He’s fine”“I have to go now, see you later” Yvonne said and hanged up“Baby what happened” Max asked“Audrey almost got shot”“Jesus what happened”“I don’t know now”“OK, I have to go now, am super late… go check up on her late” he said“I Will love” she said then kissed him and he took off… Yvonne entered the car to meet Arnold who was completely silent“Thank you” she said“For messing the time pattern?”“For saving life Arnold… that’s what is important” she asked but he didn’t reply, she started the car and drove off She drove back to the hotel in 15mins. As she arrived in its premises her phone rang and it was Maria“Hello Maria have you…?” she pauses on hearing Maria crying“Why are you crying” Yvonne got curious“What? How? O my God! Jesus!”“Which hospital?” Yvonne asked“I’m coming” that was all Yvonne said and turned to Arnold who didn’t seem interested“Maria’s husband had a terrible accident” she said but Arnold was silent She turned the car and headed towards the hospital, she arrived the hospital and met Audrey and Rachael“O God, what happened?” Yvonne asked“Today is a bad day” Audrey said“Where’s Maria?”“She’s with the doctor” Rachael said“I pray he survives it” Audrey said“Please what happened?” Yvonne asked“A trailer ran into his car on a cross road” Audrey said“Jesus… oh my God” Yvonne was shattered, just then Maria came out“Maria!!” they all said loudly as they walked to her, she remained silent – Arnold was seated far awayA doctor came out of the operating room, he had blood on his clothes“Doctor how is my husband?” Maria said“Is he alright?” Yvonne said“He had a serious to his head and causing a fractured skull…he suffered a concussion with blood in his brain, both legs are damaged, his case is highly critical but we are trying our best” the doctor said“Please save him for me, he’s all I have” Maria said crying, Yvonne patted her on the back“We are trying… I have to go” the doctor said and went back inside After 30mins he was out again and they immediately approached him, all these while Arnold just stood by the corner observing them“Doctor, how is he now” Maria said“Madam, I'm very sorry, he… he couldn’t make it… only a miracle could have” he said and Maria froze on hearing that Max was no longer with her and will never again come home to her, she couldn’t scream or shout but tears just filled down her eyes. To her the world had ended, her friends tried consoling her Arnold felt sorry too but wouldn’t interfere anymore so as to avoid other problems – after 30mins Maria requested to be with her husband’s body alone, so her friends allowed her; Yvonne promised she would come back to pick her up.Yvonne sat down beside Arnold“We’ll be moving over to her place so I can be with her awhile” Yvonne said but he didn’t reply“He was a good Man” she said as tears rolled down her eyes“He was so friendly… he was so lovely… Why do good people die?” she said crying“Everyone does, there are no exception” he said without looking at her“Today is a bad day”“This is all my fault” he said and she raised her head in surprise
