It had been two weeks since Mark left the apartment, and I’d barely seen him since. He’d only come by once, and even then, it was a fleeting visit. Life had grown heavier lately; school was becoming more demanding, work was draining me, and with exams around the corner, the days seemed to blur into an endless cycle of lectures, revisions, and exhaustion.

Through it all, Dam and I stayed close, maybe too close. Nights bled into mornings spent tangled in sheets, in whichever room we happened to collapse in. We couldn’t seem to get enough of each other. Our chemistry had spilled beyond the confines of the bedroom, onto the couch, against the counter, even in the kitchen. Just last night, while he was making dinner as usual, a playful glance turned into a kiss, and before I knew it, he had me pressed against the counter, our laughter melting into something breathless and desperate. It was wild… and intoxicating.

This afternoon, I’d just come home from class, sprawled out on my bed, too ti

We hadn’t spoken for three days. And while a small part of me felt guilty about it, I tried not to care. Damian needed to understand that he couldn’t talk to me like that and get away with it. I appreciated our friendship, what we shared, what we were, but I wasn’t his girlfriend, and I wasn’t going to let him treat me like one or disrespect me as if I owed him something. That night after our fight, once my anger had cooled, I replayed everything in my head. Maybe he didn’t have to raise his voice the way he did, but… did I really have to tell him where I was going? Did I owe him that? The thought haunted me through most of the night, along with the memory of how I’d snapped at him. My words had come out like sharp blades, and afterward, I couldn’t shake the question: What was wrong with me?Still, I pushed it all aside. I didn’t have the mental space for emotional drama, not with exams closing in. I buried myself in schoolwork, determined to keep my scholarship intact. My nights were

  • Unleashed Desires   Chapter 17

When I finally opened my eyes after that long night of pleasure, sunlight streamed into the room through the narrow slits in the blinds, painting faint golden stripes across the sheets. My body felt impossibly heavy, every muscle languid and spent, as though the weight of sleep, and everything that had come before it, still held me down. I tried to lift my arms, then my legs, but each small effort only deepened the ache. Then I felt warmth curling around me. Strong arms slid across my waist, pulling me closer until my back was pressed against the steady rise and fall of his chest. His breath tickled the side of my neck, followed by a low, sleepy sound that was half grunt, half sigh.“Why are you trying to get up?” Damian murmured, his voice rough with drowsiness. “Go back to bed.”“I need to,” I whispered. “I have things to do today.”He let out a quiet chuckle, tightening his hold. “It’s Sunday, Ash. You’ve got neither school nor work today.”I paused, realizing he was right. The tho

I was jolted awake by a loud, persistent banging noise. Disoriented and groggy, I tried to make sense of what was going on. The noise continued, growing louder and more persistent with each passing moment.Panic rising in my chest, my first thought was looking for a safe place to hide, and any object to defend myself with. The banging continues, and I get more scared. I stumble out of bed and make my way to my shoe stand, picking up a high-heeled shoe, ready to use the heel on whoever it was.“Ash,” I heard someone shout from outside. The fact that whoever it was knew my name made me even more scared.“Ash common,” the voice said again, and I realized who it was. “Dam?” I said to myself. Why was he knocking on my door at that time of the night? I checked my phone to be sure of the time, and it was two o’clock in the morning.I rushed and opened my door, but there was no one there. Then I heard the knocking again, and I realized it came from the main entrance. I opened the door, and Dam

“Wait, so all you did was refuse to live together and y’all weren’t friends anymore?” Dam asked after staying silent for some time.“That was what started everything. Other things contributed to it, but I don’t want to talk about that now,” I replied. There was more to it, and I was already feeling bad enough.“Okay,” he said. “Do you want to go back inside, or let’s just go back home?”“I wanna go home, my spirit is down already,” I looked at him, “Sorry, I spoiled your fun night.”“If anybody spoiled the night, it was me and my random questions, baby, it's fine, you didn’t do anything,” he said, laughing. We went back home, and I decided to call it a night, but I remembered something when I got to my room and just thought to clear the air while it was early. I went to Dams' room and he was talking on the phone, so I waited for him to finish.“My buddy is coming over tonight,” he informed me as soon as he got off the phone.“You have more friends?” I asked him. He had friends coming a

I’d been bowling for a while, but not one of my balls managed to knock down all the pins. Not even close. My arm ached, my ego was bruised, and my throat felt dry, so I took a break to grab some water. Dam, of course, was beside me, laughing uncontrollably, and I shot him a scowl.“It’s not funny,” I snapped.“But it is,” he said between laughs. “How have you not hit a single strike? Not even one?”“These things are cursed,” I muttered, crossing my arms. “I’m usually good at bowling.”That only made him laugh harder.“How long’s it been since you last played?” he asked when he finally caught his breath.“About three months,” I said, trying to sound casual.“Then maybe you just need time to warm up again,” he teased.“I’ve seen people bowl like pros on their first try,” I countered.“Beginner’s luck,” he said with a shrug.“Maybe,” I admitted, rolling my eyes. “Anyway, I’m thirsty.”“There’s a bar over there,” he said, pointing to the left. “We can grab a drink.”“Okay,” I agreed. He go
