Chapter 7

Five days had passed since I started school and I was stressed already. It wasn’t about the lessons, they weren’t tough, I just didn’t like stress, and classes were stressful to me. But work was fun; I worked as a web developer for an IT company, thanks to my online classes. Since I only had to go to school three times a week, and in the evening, I worked during the day on school days and went to school at night.

It was also five days since Caleb, and I was getting in my feels, I felt used. Yes, I had not messaged or called because he had made a promise, I wasn’t the one who had to get in contact with him.

Leaving school on Friday night was the best; it reminded me of the long and cool weekend. I looked at my phone, and it indicated that Caleb was online; I hadn’t seen him online all week either.

“Hey,” I messaged him.

“Hey,” his reply came back almost immediately. What the fuck, I thought.

“You’re alive?” I asked him.

“I’m sorry, my phone had an issue,” he explained.
